Warning- Emotional post! I haven’t posted anything today because last night I had to make the choice that every handler dreads. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Marty showed me yesterday that it’s getting close to time to retire him and this is officially his last Nationals. So today I made the choice to focus completely on him and enjoy these last 3 courses without the interruption of Facebook until after we ran the last class. We started today with Snooker and we Qualified in that. Standard was our 2nd run of the day. I wasn’t going to expect much from him since I know the weaves are bothering him the most. Before going into the ring I asked him if he had it in him for one last set of 12 weave poles. If he didn’t, I was ok with that, if he did, then I am truly blessed. I told him no matter what, this would be his last ever Standard run and I would switch his category to Specialist where we no longer have to do Standard class and 12 weaves. My perfect boy made sure to give me everything he could! While they were slow, he gave me all 12 weaves and we Qualifed in Standard! This video is of his very last Standard run (I even spent the extra money to have the official video). Now we await the results of his Colors class that we just finished. I’m pretty sure he also Qualified in that, but awaiting official confirmation. I will post an official wrap up of our time here at Nationals sometime in the next week. Official photos will be available in 2-3 weeks.

Marty says it was a tough day! We were 1 for 3 with Qualifying Scores today. Sleep well buddy and hopefully you have enough left in the tank to finish strong tomorrow!

Last run of the day- Standard. We are going for the double A-Frame route. Run time approximately 4:45ish.

First up is Wildcard today. Run time approximately 9:40ish in Ring #6. Marty is towards the end of that rotation.

A great Jumpers run on a very technically difficult course. A lot of teams struggled to get through the opening 10 obstacles. This resulted in our second Qualifying Score of the day.

We had an awesome day going 3 for 3 with Qualifying Scores! Videos coming soon. The cell service isn’t the greatest, so it has issues uploading the videos while on-site. Heading to get some dinner and then back to the campground where I can hopefully upload the other 2 videos from today.

Last run of Day 1 coming up around 4:45/5ish in Ring #1. Goals for this round is get in, run around while having fun getting just enough points to get a qualifying score, and get out!

We called it close, but we ran clean and came in just under the wire to Qualify in Standard this morning! Love my munchkin! He’s such a wonderful agility partner!

Here is the link to the livestream video of all the rings at nationals. Rotation 1 starts at approximately 7am each day. Marty and I are in group D1. The photo shows our rotation schedule and the rings we are in. Marty will be towards the end of each rotation that we run in.

Ziggy got to do something else special this afternoon. We took the short trip over to see his breeder and her family. We picked him out and brought him home almost a year ago. The girls were so excited to see him again! He got to see one of his litter mates as well as meet a full sibling out of their current litter (and yes, she’s available 😉). Thank you Morningside English Springer Spaniels for entrusting us with this remarkable boy!

Some of today’s shenanigans. Marty got his Mohawk put in (finally… mom was slackin’ 🤣). ZigZag got to try Drag Race 50 (it’s a 50 yard lure course). His first run was clocked at 5.07 seconds which equals 20.17 mph and then his second run was 4.81 seconds which equals 21.26 mph… 😳😳😳 He’s going to be a speedy little Springer! Afterwards he went back and stole Marty’s crate and took a nap… 😂😂😂

We made it down here, got all set up in our stall for the remainder of the week/weekend, and are checked-in. Just need to put Marty’s infamous Mohawk colors in and then we are ready to rock and roll!
