Paradox Albino
The Paradox Albino gene is simple recessive in Kenyan sand boas (unlike other snake breeds) and is a *separate* gene from Bell Albino. What this means is that you cannot pair a paradox to a bell and get visual expression of either gene, but it also means you could produce an animal that expresses both Paradox Albino and Bell Albino (this morph is called JPB and is planned for two spotlight posts from now).
Paradox Albino looks like a Bell Albino but with some melanin splotches. The splotches can be many or few, large or small, and basically anything in between. Some even have no spots at all, but they are still expressing the Paradox Albino gene. They have eyes like Bell Albino, the orange is still there, but the black part of the pattern is blue. The pattern shape has the same variation as any other normal patterned Kenyan sand boa.
The photos below illustrate the variation in pattern and color in paradox albino. The lower right is a striped paradox albino (stripe will be a post when we get to localities).
*All photos are of my own animals. The two bottom animals will be available to new owners.
