Now i dont often have to teach escalatora to assistance dpgs because theres usually nearly always anpther way round such as a lift or stairs HOWEVER if the handler works in london or travels there alot for any reason then i will teach the dog an escalator. Yes assistances dog can stand on an escalator and not be carried but it isnt something i would recommend ever just "trying it" without help from someone experienced because it isnt easy and theres a reason we only teach under certain circumstances.
Anyways this is this pairs first day on escalator training so we got to the point she didnt mind texture under her feet and the movement so here you see her owner simply treating while working on a stand stay for the dog.
Would love to extend a thank you to the manager at in stevenage for being so kind as to let us use their escalatora today for this. It makes such a difference to an assistance dogs training journey when stores help out like this.
