Is everyone getting excited for Buntoberfest? I admit I am super nervous this year especially with our previous page still being held hostage. I am still fighting with FB for a resolution, and I will not give up but until then I am trying to promote as best I can.

We have flyers in multiple vet offices, asking all the vendors to share far and wide, posting in multiple bunny groups and pages etc.

I will keep trying and hoping it's still a success. I am more worried for the vendors as we have even more than last year and 4 guest speakers as well.

We can do this guys right? Please help by promoting and showing excitement as its coming soon!!!

Finally a better way to manage our diabetic patients!!

On the last day of Diabetes Awareness Month, we wanted to share with you something new and very exciting. The Freestyle Libre continuous glucose monitor has changed how we monitor blood sugar and adjust insulin doses. Attached in the hospital and worn for two weeks, the monitor gives us continuous real time blood sugar readings when the pet is home in their normal, comfortable surroundings instead of stressed out at the hospital. This information is much more accurate and extensive, and let’s us treat diabetes more efficiently and effectively. Here, Chewbacca the poodle and Moby the pug model the device. As most of my clients at the Rutherford Animal Hospital now know, our Shally passed away while I was home on maternity leave. We have been so touched by the kind words of all who knew of her and sincerely thank everyone for their support. We took Princess out on the town again last night. Her leg is feeling much better and she is finally splint free! She made a bunch of new friends including a teeny little poodle named Tiger who was SO cute! On the way home she was so worn out she sat with her head resting in my husband's hand... :)

Brownie and Princess are two very special dogs that are available for adoption through the Passaic Animal Shelter. They enjoyed a field trip today to play all day in a lush yard, had a spa day (got baths), and then Brownie finished off the evening with a stroll through beautiful Montclair in search of a forever family. (Princess wanted to come too, but during their playtime she took a bit of a high speed tumble over her sister and she wasn't up for the walk.) Hopefully soon they can hit the streets again together and continue their search for that special family to call their very own.
INFO: The girls are about 15 months old. They are mastiff + boxer + ??? mixes and have probably reached their adult height but may fill out a bit more over time. They are spayed and up to date on vaccines. Their dispositions are very good - they are both very gentle with everyone they meet and it seems they are also friendly with other animals.
