Starting the new year off with Mer Mer cuddles. I'm already emotional waiting on the 15th. Just impatient to get her ultrasound done so we can see if her belly is okay. Since birth she's had an enlarged belly. Even after deworming almost a dozen times. There's just large lumps in her lower abdominal wall that don't feel right. And the rib bones are off. I feel an extra 1 or 2 of them. And when she's resting she breathes really fast/deep. With my experience this year with sick/terminal cats, it has me stressed. She cries if we pick her up wrong and doesn't like her back/belly touched too hard. Almost like it's painful for her. She's the absolute sweetest baby. Bonnie and Trilly adore her. Milly is the best Auntie Doggy, and this week she is now sleeping with me since all the other kittens have been adopted. This is all she wants to do. Snuggle and suckle her blankie. I'm cherishing every moment with her. And I seriously pray that she's just a fat girl who loves food, and is maybe backed up a little 😆 That would seriously be the best outcome. We can live with a few extra ribs, everything else just needs to be gone 🙌🏻🫶🏻 . . . My 2024 year in a nutshell. My year has been full of love, stress, tears, joy, loss, emergency visits, emergency surgeries, cardiac appointments, specialist appointments, x-rays, ultrasounds, bad news, more loss....sick babies I never thought would make it, surpassing everyone's expectations, finding the best homes...and some who are still here almost a year later 💔 It's been a long year. But I'm thankful for all I've been able to accomplish 🙏🏻 And I'm so incredibly thankful for all the amazing people who have supported me. Whether it's financially, sending food and supplies, and even those who help share posts to get these babies homes. Every little thing matters in rescue. Sieben is definitely keeping us on our toes these days. 😆 I never thought we'd get here with as much as he's been through, but he's truly a blessing 🙌🏻 And now it's time to start finding his forever family. He has another round of vaccines soon, but after that, he's ready to go. He's such a beautiful boy, and I'll tell you right now, he's gonna be a STUNNER when he's grown ✨️ He loves kids, cats, dogs, playing, jumping, food is his love language, and he'll let you know when he's hungry. Happy Gotcha Day Yoshi !!

It's been a LONG time coming, and it's probably the most rewarding adoption I've had this year. 👌🏻 Yoshi was a baby who beat all the odds. Since birth, he's had medical issues. Brought to me with umbilical trauma that needed repair. Eye infections, upper respiratory infections, he needed to be tube fed for a while before he learned how to nurse on his own. His tail became necrotic, and he lost the tip of it (it healed, and there's no scars). He had his hernia repair/neuter but had aspiration Pnemonia after they removed the tube. So we spent a month on 2 rounds of antibiotics trying to clear the infection in his lungs. Many weeks of Oxygenator support. There were so many vet appointments, so many meds. But we did it 🙌🏻 This weekend was his last dose of meds, and his new pawrents drove down to pick him up. His momma spent weeks in touch with me, wanting him no matter what. She was patient. and when she arrived, I can honestly say it was love at first sight. He was so comfortable with them and immediately showed them love. 🥰 And I've even seen pictures of him with his new brother Kitty, and so far, all seems well. I'm so happy for him. Yoshi was the one kitten we knew we'd have a hard time saying goodbye, too. He's such a sweet boy who absolutely adored everyone. With everything he's been through, he's never showed any fear. This boy will snuggle up and beg for attention any chance he gets. and I'm so thankful he has parents who will give him the love he deserves. Well, second round of antibiotics, dewormers, anti nausea med injections and pills, B12, probiotics, appetite stimulants, fiber supplements, daily Fluids for a week and prescription gastrointestinal food has apparently worked it's miracle. Siebens stools are no longer green, they're a good color, (but still a bit soft) No vomiting since his appointment, and his appetite has come back tenfold. He's over 1 lb now!! 👏🏻 I'm just so happy to see this boy eating 😩 😭 He had me scared for a while with how he was looking but he's gaining weight, and using his litter box so hopefully it's all up from here 🤞🏻 . . . We are dangerously LOW on funds. These emergency room visits have taken so much the last couple of months, and we need to recoup. No donations came in for today's visit. . . . Impatiently waiting on Yoshis records to be emailed to me on Tuesday. We need to figure out what meds were given to him with his Nueter and Hernia surgery. Antibiotics are definitely not working right now. He is still so nasaly, his chest still sounds wet when he breathes, and i can feel the rattle 💔 After Tuesday, I'm gonna try and get another emergency recheck. Sieben is getting so big 😫 My handsome little Benny is chugging his Milk Juice like a pro now. We're just about ready for a big boy bottle. He's almost done with antibiotics too, just a few days left and I'm so happy his lungs sound clear. 😭 Not many newborns survive Pnemonia so he truly is a little miracle baby. 🙏🏻 🙌🏻 Next on our list is getting his stools right. Yoshi will be having an emergency vet visit today, and I'm a wreck. Surgery was on Tuesday for his Nueter and Hernia removal. Yesterday, he woke up sounding sick and really lethargic. Today, his entire chest is gurgly. Idk what happened, but I'm a mess 🥹😭 I really cannot take any more bad news, so hopefully, we can fix whatever the heck is going on with him 🙏🏻 Today's visit will cost a pretty penny, so we DESPERATELY NEED FUNDS to help cover this. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MILO !!! I truly cannot believe I've been able to love you for a whole year now. My sweet beautiful precious boy. The day you arrived was a whirlwind of emotions. And the months that followed were trying times. We've been through a LOT, but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I think I learned the most I ever have this year fostering clefts. There were moments I almost gave up because I was so overwhelmed with all the medical assistance you needed, but now?? You're a perfect 4 lb boy, who loves life. Loves kitties, your doggy siblings, chasing the kids, barking at your 89 lb girlfriend for playtime and you give the world's best kisses 💋 I cannot imagine my life without my little guy, and I'm so thankful he's made it through all the scary moments we've had. He still needs one more operation to finish closing his palette, but we're giving him some time to just be a puppy and enjoy life without meds and cones of shame.
