Onions. Not my usual type of post.

I traveled up to Washington this weekend to finish up a couple jobs before my fall season comes to a close close. (Unless anyone else needs hooves trimmed, hit me up) Obviously, I took my phone out at both jobs to take pictures, but didn't snap any because I was trying to race the rain.
All the sheep were amazingly adorable and you all missed out, so sorry, but not sorry, you get onions. Not just any onions mind you, homegrown Walla Walla onions, my absolute favorite onions! A simple tip for services rendered, but one which I treasure immensely. A tip provided to me by two humans who mean the absolute world to me for taking in and providing the absolute best home for seven Jacob's sheep who needed a new one. "My" seven Jacob's sheep. Cora and Judy, simply thank you for everything, but ESPECIALLY the onions.

I didn't take many pictures or post much this West Coast fall clean up due to various reschedules, rain delays, and the like, so here are a few of my favorite beings along the way.
North/eastern Utah and Colorado, I'll see you shortly.

It is always an absolute pleasure shearing for each season. This fall season, I have an apprentice, Flora from , to "share the load. Frodo." Well, really to hold Winston's head so my butt and inner thighs are safe.

POST 3 of 3:

Yep! At the end of it all, we made it to the magic islands of much wonder and splendor. We spent time on Maui and the Big Island this go around helping animals out. I didn't take as many photos as I usually do. Again, exhaustion and the simple act of just being, experiencing, and enjoying the present moments without a screen between.
Headed back to northern Utah to clear up jobs before I shut down completely for a bit. If you know anyone around there, let them know. Aloha!

Want to see a magic trick? 🎩 🪄 ~25lbs of fiber removed on 4+ years of growth.
She is just one of many we helped as we blew through some remote bits of Utah, out to Colorado, then back out to the PNW again.

Sooooooo, I've not posted in a hot minute as the tiredness of the season set it, and thus, we are playing catch-up.

When friends ask if you will come and shear their two sheep, obviously, you do what you can to make it work. When they work at the you don't just shear 2 adorable sheep, but are graced with a smorgasbord of still hard to process experiences. Lemur, giraffe, camel, and more, oh my!!

Just out here in the wind, snuggling Icelandic lambs with , who saved my butt jumping in the deep end of being a helper for a couple days, 80 animals shorn, plus some toes. I could have never done it without you.

Sometimes I remember to take photos. Luckily, I have some great models.

This first leg of the season was a whirlwind of fiber, fluff, road miles, and different springs across a bit of the west.

In no particular order, save the first two:

1 & 2: The as always was an experience I'll never forgot. One moment of which is this thank you gift: a "hand" painted art piece crafted by 3 of the Meerkat Mob! Look at the little paw prints, 😍
3. Making faces with friends
4. Little nibbles on the good grass
5. Curious customers with a view
6. There are sheep among these lemons somewhere
7. Content alpaca in the sun and wind
8. The illusive rare sea wool on our day off
9. Bit of pool at the end of a long day
10. Happy shorn sheep on a hot afternoon

HELP NEEDED:
Hello, friends and customers! I am in need of a base helper for at least the first half of my Spring shearing season as my usual, and all backup helpers have other obligations this year.

If you, or know someone, that loves animals, or needs a job, or hates the corporate world and wants outside for a bit, or just wants to get paid to see a small bit of the American West, or ever wondered what one of the oldest professions in modern times is like, do I have an experience for you!

The work includes handling animals of various types, trimming hooves (which I'll teach if needed), holding a cord/passing me the various things I need while I work, trying to look pretty taking selfies of youself and animals while I'm doing all the shearing, etc.

This would start this weekend, April 6th, and go until currently the 9th of May. (Could be longer if you enjoy the work/want to continue)
Pay will be provided for your time, including the covering of food/lodging while on the road for the first 10 days.
Part of which includes the SF Zoo and meeting a cool, crazy animal experience (see second photo)

Someone based around Northern Utah preferred as a good month of work will be around there, and you can also in their own bed almost every night, but lodging can be found for anyone outside of Northern Utah.

DM me or email me ([email protected]) if interested.
