The renowned Texas horse rescue The Pegasus Project has joined NEDR's efforts to offer relief to Louisiana horses in areas devastated by Hurricane Ida. Their generous contribution will allow us to buy local hay in bulk to distribute to those who have lost their hay, their fences and even their barns.
We can't thank The Pegasus Project and their supporters enough for this opportunity to team up and help Louisiana horses in need.
Tonight our thoughts are also with the equine community along the Texas and Louisiana coast as Tropical Storm Nicholas approaches.

Do you know someone with horses in Louisiana that were affected by Hurricane Ida? We know communications are still down for many, but we can offer equine relief assistance, along with the Humane Society of Louisiana.

National Equine Disaster Relief and Rainbows Edge have created a staging area at Wind Dancer Animal and Equine Rescue* in Slidell, La. to help horses in devastated areas.

Our NEDR equine relief staging area is stocking and replenishing hay, feed, veterinary supplies and small animal food too. Relief supplies continue to arrive from Florida and Texas.

Operation Louisiana Horses by The Ocala Horse Alliance has arrived!

National Equine Disaster Relief and Rainbows Edge have created a staging area at Wind Dancer Animal and Equine Rescue* in Slidell, La. to help horses in devastated areas.

Our NEDR equine relief staging area is stocking and replenishing hay, feed, veterinary supplies and small animal food too. Relief supplies continue to arrive from Florida and Texas and NEDR will continue bring in relief as long as it is needed.

Pyranha... Thank you
Tom DiCillo and Ben Heatherly arrived yesterday and donated 11 cartons of much needed Pyranha fly spray for the horses in Louisiana. OHA Vice President, Bonnie Heath, helped to load and get it prepped for shrink wrapping for travel. Thank you Pyranha! The horses will so appreciate this donation.

The Louisiana Farm Bureau Livestock Advisory Committee is again working to help ranchers through a natural disaster by reengaging its hay clearinghouse in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

Through the hay clearinghouse, the volunteers and staff of the Louisiana Farm Bureau connect ranchers who need hay or pasture for their cattle with people who have hay to donate, pasture space available or the ability to transport hay.

If you need hay or pasture for your cattle, or if you have hay, pasture space or the ability to transport hay you’d like to donate, call (225) 922-6200 or visit https://lafarmbureau.org/hayclearinghouse and provide your name, contact information and location. A member of the Louisiana Farm Bureau staff will then connect those in need of hay or pasture with the closest source of help.
