Hello, I'm James of Treat & Repeat!
How did Treat and Repeat get started?
🔶After college, I trained dogs full-time and needed high-value rewards to achieve the best results. I bought a tabletop dehydrator and started drying thinly sliced meats that I bought from the grocery store, which the dogs went wild for! The success led to (human) clients asking how to buy my treats, and thus, Treat & Repeat was born!
Do you have dogs, what kind, how old, names?
🔶Yes, I have two dogs right now! Clark is a 5-year-old Golden Retriever and Lilly is a 3-year-old Black Lab. They are absolutely best friends who love to play and nap with one another. Together they are the CTOs....or Chief Tasting Officers of Treat & Repeat. Nothing gets put on our menu without their approval first!
What are customers' favorite treats at the market?
🔶The ones that seem to fly off the shelves are our Chicken treats and our Collagen chews. We receive a tremendous amount of positive feedback on how our all-natural chews keep their dogs endlessly busy and mentally enriched!
What's your favorite go-to food/snack at the market? Boba Shark !
🔶I LOVE that new(ish) Pork Belly booth!!! The portions are large, and the food is delicious!
What fellow vendor or market aspect inspires you?
🔶The awesome vendors around the bend that have bagels and breakfast sandwiches. I've noticed that they've created a staple and a must-have in a lot of people's lives, given the line they always have at their booth. That has inspired me to also create a must-have weekly item that customers feel the need to come back for each Sunday!
How long have you been in farmers markets and why do you choose the markets to sell your goods at?
🔶I started selling at Farmers Markets about 2 years ago. It's a great way to connect to our customers (canines and humans) face-to-face, and I've noticed a big driving source of sales comes from handing out free samples and allowing the product to speak for itself. It is also a great way to convert the market customers into recurring online subscribers to our products. We have a lot of northern visitors here and they love that they can still receive Treat & Repeat in the mail no matter where they reside!
