The Unruffled Beast Formerly Cool Dog Grooming❤️ I bring almost everything I need to bathe, dry and groom your pet in the comfort and familiarity of your own home.

You supply a tub or sink, and an area with an outlet for me to groom in. Most grooms are done in 1-2 hours. Please remember that what seems impossible to you probably isn't to me. I bathe efficiently and quickly, and a tub or show will usually do just fine. If you have questions just snap a pic of your set up and email it to me. It's probably sufficient.

Walter, a sweet senior pup, is missing in St Paul, MN. He ran out the door of his home that was blown open by strong winds. Walter is very friendly to both humans and canines but he does not like to be picked up. Please DO NOT CHASE or attempt to “catch him”. Even at his age he is very fast and running scared. He is lost in a very busy area and chasing him could cause him to make bad decisions running into traffic. Please quietly check your property, bushes, window wells, and out buildings for any possible hiding spots. Call immediately with any sightings!

APRIL IS POETRY APPRECIATION MONTH
Hymn For The Hurting by Amanda Gorman

Everything hurts,
Our hearts shadowed and strange,
Minds made muddied and mute.
We carry tragedy, terrifying and true.
And yet none of it is new;
We knew it as home,
As horror,
As heritage.
Even our children
Cannot be children,
Cannot be.
Everything hurts.
It’s a hard time to be alive,
And even harder to stay that way.
We’re burdened to live out these days,
While at the same time, blessed to outlive them.
This alarm is how we know
We must be altered —
That we must differ or die,
That we must triumph or try.
Thus while hate cannot be terminated,
It can be transformed
Into a love that lets us live.
May we not just grieve, but give:
May we not just ache, but act;
May our signed right to bear arms
Never blind our sight from shared harm;
May we choose our children over chaos.
May another innocent never be lost.
Maybe everything hurts,
Our hearts shadowed & strange.
But only when everything hurts
May everything change.

Whether you call them fireflies or lightning bugs, over 150 different species of these mystical beetles make their home in North America - and every single one of them is declining.

Things you can do to assist these whimsical creatures:

1. Create a Space – Fireflies thrive in secluded, moist, organically rich environments. Set aside a portion of your land for a little bit of wilderness; allow a diverse mixture of native grasses and flowers to grow taller than the manicured lawn. Most female fireflies send their signals from perches, blinking like little lighthouse beacons.

2. Don't Use Insecticides – need we say more?

3. Turn Off the Lights – light pollution is easy to fix and instantly reversible. Keep outdoor lights to a minimum to allow lightning bugs optimal communications with each other. No love language? No new lightning bugs.

4. Talk to the Neighbors – the efforts you make on your property are important - but fireflies are not limited to a single plot. Together, we can bring these nostalgic little beetles back from the brink and enjoy their dazzling performances again!

Public service announcement: Now is the time for springtime tree trimming.

Believe it or not, baby squirrels will be born in just a few short weeks ( ), and songbirds will be hatching right behind them. No one wants to cut down a tree or branch that contains a nest of babies, but avoiding these accidents requires planning ahead.

Make time to do your tree trimming before March 1.

Now is also the time to repair any openings to your attic so you don't end up with any furry families moving in upstairs. As much as we love wildlife, we don't want them living in your house!

Sharing this simple but powerful reminder with your friends and family is sometimes all it takes to keep wild families safe.

Hi everyone! I rarely post anymore due to my dislike of Facebook but
I wanted to pop on to wish everyone a better, happier and healthier 2022. The years have somehow passed quickly through these weird tough times. There has been a lot of loss and sickness here of my fur clients, human clients, and their loved ones. Honestly just far too much passing of those we love. I hope and plan for brighter days. I wish all of you fortitude to face change and uncertainty as this strange world plods ahead.

So here’s to brighter days and a more hopeful future for us all. Thank you for your loyalty and trust and for working with me through masking, social distance and all that junk.

And one more less pleasant thing…..

while I have your attention, my deepest wish is that all of you become anti-racists. My new rule for 2022 is that i will pack my gear and leave the moment something hateful is said. I never thought I’d see the day that the darkness within my clients hearts would pour out onto me. I’ve dealt with FAR too many “comments” in this last year that my clients have never in 25 years of work shared with me and now feel comfortable doing so. I am not the one to talk to like that. Stop it. Things will be much less pleasant for my racist clients in 2022 as they find themselves looking for a new groomer. This has just been a horrible development lately that has been very hard for me to reckon with.

We are all stressed and struggling.
We need more kindness
Less hate.

Strive for it in the new year and forevermore. 🕊

I don't know about you, but I don't like every person I meet and dogs don't like every dog they meet. Let's not set up dogs to fail by expecting more from them than we expect of ourselves. - Lori

Hello on this beautiful sunny morning !It has been a long time since I last popped up here. As I’ve stated, I’m not a big fan of Facebook and am not very active on it. That does not mean I have stopped working though! I’m still at it of course 😊. Send me a text if you would like a spring appointment. During the pandemic almost everyone got off schedule and now suddenly it’s mud season! Time to get at it ❤️

I have the nicest clients. No lie, this made me sob but in a good way. 🥰🥰

Yesterday my dad passed after a crappy year of kidney failure and Alzheimer’s. It has been tough and many of you know of the struggles we’ve gone through. I have been distracted and screwed up many appointments. I appreciate all of your understanding during everything.

He was 89 and strong and healthy until this last year.

We were all with him at the end.

It’s hard to believe I really lost my dad. 🥺

Been a while! I’m not a huge fan of Facebook’s policies so I have really fallen off of posting. Thought I’d share some sunshine though—this is my client Avi from just 2 weeks ago when it was beautiful outside 😕

This is an amazing company. I love every single product. Their hot spot itch spray is the only topical that gives my allergy suffering dog any relief. Their products are natural and actually work. Check them out.

Your pet will love you more after trying Innovet Pet~

A manicured lawn might look nice, but messy is better for birds and bugs.
