I'VE BEEN ADOPTED!
I came into Berkeley Animal Center in November 2022 as a stray. They were very nice to me there, but I was overlooked by potential adopters because I was an adult dog, black, with a pitbull appearance, heartworm positive, and possibly dog aggressive. After being at the shelter for three months, around Valentine's Day, a woman came in and said she wanted to foster me *specifically* because of those things. She wanted me to have a chance to show everyone my potential. My foster mom gave me a warm home to feel safe and comfortable in, helped me put on weight, got me cured of heartworms, and took me all around town where I proved I was very loving with people of all ages and loved to play with dogs of all sizes. Just in time for Thanksgiving this year, I finally found my forever home. This photo is of me and my Forever Mommy when we first met at my Foster Mom's house at a party. Fostering saved my life. Please consider fostering to help dogs like me show everyone who we can be! [Special shout out to Friends of Berkeley Animal Center for all they do to raise money and promote BAC's animals in need of a home.]
