It’s certainly the season for wildlife! This young brushtail possum was recently found by a member of the public and brought into us, she had likely fallen off her mumma’s back 😢. After a vet check, she came out with flying colours, and with the support of our wonderful local wildlife carers, she was paired up with another young poss, and will return back to her local area once old enough. 💜

Beautiful sheepadoodle puppy Millie was all smiles and cuddles for her first visit to our clinic - what a brave girl she was for her 2nd puppy vaccination!
We didn’t want to give her back 🤗 See you next month for your final puppy vax sweet girl!

That will teach Miso not to help himself to the fruit bowl again! After sneakily ingesting a plum stone, to eliminate the risk of a possible obstruction, unfortunately for Miso we had to induce vomiting. One plum stone later (and the odd bit of carrot, of course) Miso enjoyed some love from Nurse Alex before sheepishly heading home. 🫤

Little Luigi underwent his second cherry eye surgery with us this week. A cherry eye is the prolapse of the gland of the third eyelid, and appears as a red lump at the inner eyelid corner. It’s not really known exactly why cherry eye occurs, but more than likely if a dog experiences one, then it’s often closely followed by the second eye needing the procedure as well. Cherry eye is seen mostly in younger dogs, with certain breeds also predisposed to the condition. Such a little trooper, Luigi left us after his surgery looking like a new pup 🐶

This incredible Tawny Frogmouth was brought in on Friday by a concerned member of the public. He was discovered at a local park being attacked by other birds. After a physical assessment by Dr Bronwyn, we were thrilled he was deemed fit to be sent to a career for specialised recovery. An excellent outcome! 🦉

Poppy knew she came into work with Dr Gareth for good reason this morning. She had located the world’s largest hot wattle bottle, with no plans to move until at least early September. ❄️
