I’m back, and ready to dive into 2025! Although not quite injury free yet 🊿

The holidays have been a whirlwind—one filled with both joy and heartache. Unfortunately, I had two family funerals over the break, which made it a slower start than planned for Bar M. Thank you all for your patience and support as I took some time to focus on family. 🩵

But amidst the challenges, there were also some incredible moments. We had a wildly successful stall at the Te Anau Rodeo and an amazing day at the Wanaka Rodeo—what a way to kick off the new year! The energy and excitement at both events reminded me just how much I love what I do, and I’m beyond grateful for all of you who came by to chat, shop, and share your stories. ✹

Now, it’s back to business. 2025 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet! With monthly hat order batches in full swing, January spots are already gone, and custom hat bespoke workshop sessions are being booked up fast—so make sure to get in quick for February. Seriously—don’t wait! 🔥

5 shows in 5 weeks with a ankle that is blown to bits 🥎 it had been my biggest challenge yet! I have done just about everything you could possibly do to an ankle without dislocating it 🀊🏌‍♀

I would not have been able to get through the last three months of orders, sales, shows, growing my business and getting down the road without the village of people around me! 🥰

Things have slowed down a lot for me, turnaround times have increased and it has taken me longer than usual to do everything because I simply cannot do it all myself at the moment. In fact I can’t even walk let alone do all the things. 🩌

BUT there has been a huge positive
in a lesson for me to slow down and learn to ask for help, there have been the most incredible and supportive people shining through to help me get it all done. To my partner and his family, my family, my friends, other stall holders, event organisers and complete strangers, I would have not been able to do it all without your generosity and support! 🫶🏻

Thank you to everyone for your understanding and patience while I try to get as much done as I can, while making sure I heal up from this injury and don’t cause myself too many problems down the road! 🀞🏻

Only a couple of times a year does Grandad talk about how he remembers receiving the news that his brother Bruce was killed in the war.He was a young boy and a telegraph was delivered. It said what no family wishes to receive, yet the news that was all too regular during these times of war. Private Bruce Kenneth Stewart had been killed at Monte Casino in WW2. He fought in Battalion 27 - on a machine gun. Grandad, as a young boy ran out to the laundry to hide by himself and cried for hours. Today he held one of his brother’s medals, while our cousin Sam wore the rest. On ANZAC day, we remember those who fought for where we are today. But also, we go for Grandad, to respect and remember his brother who fought for our country.
