1. Cats were once worshipped by Egyptians.
Cats were venerated by the earliest Egyptians and were represented in the social and religious practices of ancient Egypt for more than 3,000 years. Several ancient Egyptian deities were depicted and sculptured with cat-like heads such as Mafdet, Bastet, and Sekhmet, representing justice, fertility, and power respectively. These cat-gods were sought after for protection and guidance.
2. Cats hear, smell and sleep at the same time
Cats do sleep a lot, of a daily duration of about 12 and 16 hours, with 14 as an average. Some cats sleep as much as 20 hours. But as much as they sleep, they stay super alert at the same time. They are actively hearing and smelling things while asleep. This phenomenon accounts for their ability to pounce on a pest at a moment’s notice right from their sleep.
3. Cats are “anti-heart attacks”
Cats are not just adorable pets but they have been proven to reduce the risk of dying from a heart attack. Researches have shown that cats help lower blood pressure and heart-related illnesses. This fundamental attribute of the cats has been attributed to their hyper-happy moods and being so playful. It is believed kitties have an abundance of positive energy stored up and release it through playtime.
4. Cats eat and drink without making sounds
