Results finally in! Beaumanor Brogan Torchlite "Teddy" goes winners dog yesterday for a 4 point major finishing his AKC Championship in style! Four back to back majors for him! I can't be more proud of this boy and how fast he made of gaining his Championship under the expert hand of Kara Janiszak with Sterling All Breed Handling. Thank you so much Kara for taking him on and completing this while we had no shows here and I am focusing on baby and me. Congratulations and huge thank you to his Breeders and co owners Robin Molaskey Herrick and Mari M Carroll for this outstanding boy. He is more than I could have hoped for and is very special to me. I have absolutely adored his sires line since getting his 1/2 sister almost 5 years ago and needed another, they made that happen.

So pending AKC conformation Teddy is now CH Beaumanor Brogan Torchlite! He is by GCH Brogan Light Brigade X CH Beaumanor Brogan Barossa Valley and is owned by myself, Robin Molaskey Herrick and Mari M Carroll.

I will post his finish photo as soon as its available!

Bruno has found his most perfect home with one of my past corgi retirement homes! He will have a little girl dotting on him!

Bruno is available to a pet home. He was born and raised here and has been shown in conformation and started on basic obedience. He is very docile and laid back, very easy going with any environment or situation he is in. He is 13 mos old. Up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm prevention, microchipped, and will be neutered before leaving us. Please PM me for more information. Located in Laramie, Wyoming.

So excited to introduce our next show prospect BriarFox Walkabouts Wyoming Sprit "Kirby" bred by Marisa and Rylee. She is sired by GCHB CH Bespoke Final Boss At Merrygold "Bowser" and out of Walkabouts Chasing Rainbows at Briarfox "Marley" who is major pointed. Thank you Marisa Johnson for thinking of me on this litter and allowing this beautiful girl to come back to Walkabouts. We did not get a girl from Marleys sister Nova to run on as she had to be pulled from the program after a emergency surgery and Marisa so kindly offered a Marley daughter to me. The latest show update from Arapahoe Kennel Club....... We are behind 🙈

Walkabouts Something Special "Dolly" was Best of Breed. Best of winners. Winners for a single point. This leaves her with only needing 1 point to finish her AKC championship! Dolly will be my 1st home raised bred by to complete her championship! I am so so proud of her and her junior Hannah for all their hard work! Dolly is by BISS GCH CH Honeyfox Bespoke Country Waltz BCAT CGC TKN RI "Walter" X CH Cityside Killer Queen At Walkabouts "Queen"

CH Cityside Killer Queen At Walkabouts "Queen" tagged along to fill in for juniors as her daughter needed to sit it out. Her and Hannah looked amazing. This girl loves all the juniors and they all love her and always ask to use her.

My love Eddie went along and helped me. He is such a great man for supporting me and my dogs, I don't know how I got so lucky.

Just a little update. Both Falyn and Mallory found their forever homes. We also decided to find momma Maizy a loving retirement home as we didn't feel it was right to bred her again. She now has a 5 year old girl to dot on. Grandma Ella will also be retired but will be staying with us.

Our girl Queen that was due to be bred next we decided to skip as we weren't in a position to hold a keeper or two back and thankfully we did as she had to have emergency bladder surgery at our last show due to a bladder stone obstruction.

So with that said we are taking a break from breeding. We will see in 6 - 8 months how Queen is doing and if she's in condition to be bred. We will be continuing to show our two boys Bruno and Teddy and helping our juniors with the Walter X Queen kids (Cash, Dunkin and Dolly).

Reagan will be getting her own puppy soon and we are so excited to see where they go. Huge thank you to BriarFox Corgis (Marisa Johnson) for allowing one of my juniors to take on one of your puppies.

We are always looking for juniors that want to learn and show corgis. If any families have a kiddo wanting to get to know the breed and show get ahold of me.

Great article. Remember to always check your dogs and be on the look out.

It's that dreaded time of year...
The time of year where every trip outside could prove disastrous with merely a sniff.

Sure, it's Rattlesnake Season here in Southern California, but I'm talking about a threat with a much higher encounter rate... one that is quite possibly lurking in your back yard at this very moment.

Foxtails.

These deadly pests are an absolute nuisance to dog owners! They get stuck in fur, between paw pads, in gums, throats, ears, eyes, and noses...

This particular specimen was removed from one of my Huskies last night. It is nearly two inches in length and was lodged in her right nostril to the tip. How did I find it? My dog was sneezing blood. After a brief nose exam where I spotted the very tip of the culprit, I was on our way to the local Emergency Vet (and landed a $300+ vet bill to boot).

What makes these things so dangerous? They're just a plant after all, aren't they? How can they be so bad?

Well, for starters, they have little barbs on them. These barbs allow them to grip onto whatever surface they encounter, and prevent them from easily backing out.

Secondly, they migrate. They continue on whatever trajectory they enter the body at, so in the instance of a foxtail in the nose, that foxtail could work itself up the sinus cavity and embed in or near the brain. They can puncture lungs. They dig into the skin and cause painful sores and abscesses that can lead to infection and death if untreated. The seeds don't break down within their bodies, either.

So, you may be wondering how to prevent these Murder Seeds from affecting your pets (cats are equally as susceptible to them)....

🐾 The best way is to not allow your dog to walk through tall, grassy fields.

🐾 Examining your pet's coat daily during foxtail season- generally May through December- can make a huge difference through preventative care..

🐾 Brush your dog as necessary, looking especially closely for pointy foxtail awns in your dog's thick or feathery fur.

🐾 Check your pup's face and ears carefully for foxtails. Don't forget to look in and around your pooch's mouth and gums.

🐾 Carefully check your dog's paw pads for foxtails -- especially between the toes.

⚕ Use tweezers to remove any foxtails you can easily get to, but if a foxtail is deeply embedded, or if the area around it is red or swollen, call your veterinarian right away.

⚕ Remember, foxtails won't come out on their own, and they can burrow into the brain, spine, eardrums, lungs, and quite literally anywhere on the dog's body.

I want to say how incredibly proud I am of Hannah and Walkabouts Something Special "Dolly". Hannah was in need of a junior dog for the show this weekend. Her sister Grace co owns Dollys brother Walkabouts Ring Of Fire "Cash" so I offered up Dolly. I was a little worried at 1st as Dolly hasn't had the exposure to the ring or traveling that I would like. She did beginner 4-6 month puppy last year in Cheyenne and then was on the back burner as I focused on getting her mom finished. Needless to say these girls are rocking it! They became a team with only a few days before the show and have rocked it taking 1st in open juniors 2 days in a row! Way to go Hannah and Dolly!
