Some of you may remember the Garden Pups, Mei & Atom. With all of the COVID travel restrictions, going back to Gunsan to get him before his FAVN test and rabies expired wasn’t looking good. But I was able to get him to Tokyo, and picked up from there. After 2 years, Atom’s finally home🐕🙏🏼

Thanks to everyone who's supported Dog Land and the Outreach volunteers over the last several months! Through these difficult times, please remember that there are still hundreds of dogs in Gunsan that need our help. If you're interested in supporting Dog Land or becoming a volunteer, please let us know! Stay safe, everyone!

CONGRATULATIONS to our Dog Land Outreach Volunteer of The Month for February‼️
Mindy Ware✨
Mindy was one of the VERY first members of the Dog Land Outreach volunteer group and has been making weekly trips to the shelter since our official start in September, and even individual trips before that, in August! She is one of our team leads and never fails to provide some of the best photos of our weekly trips to Dog Land.
She has consistently participated in all of our Outreach events and is one of two admins that operate our social media accounts.
She selflessly spends her personal time responding to questions and requests on the social media accounts while coordinating with Dog Land staff to provide accurate and helpful information.
It’s because of the passion and dedication of people like Mindy that we’ve been able to establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with the Dog Land staff members and effectively support them and all of the animals that need us in Gunsan.
Keep being you, Mindy‼️🐕

DOG LAND OUTREACH VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
January has been an extremely busy month for everyone at Kunsan Air Base, but that didn’t stop our volunteer, Luis Rodriguez from making the weekly volunteer trips, participating in the group meetings and brainstorming to come up with a way to raise money to help transport our volunteers to and from Gunsan Dog Land. He’s established a system of raising funds during Base morale events and has been hugely successful so far. It’s the dedication and innovative ideas like this that help us do as much as we can for the local dogs in Gunsan.
CONGRATS, Luis!
Thank you for all of your hard work!

This little cutie was found wondering around alone and was safely taken to DogLand.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Dog Land Outreach Volunteer of The Month for December‼️
Anthony Bell
Anthony was one of the first active members of the Dog Land Outreach volunteer group and has been making weekly trips to the shelter since September. He is one of our team leads and has volunteered to assist with several rescues that resulted in dogs being pulled from neglectful and dangerous environments and relocated to Dog Land for the chance to be adopted.
He manned the Dog Land Outreach table at Kunsan’s Holiday Extravaganza where he advertised our mission and recruited new members. He was also a key member in wrapping over $4k worth of gifts that were donated for the 2019 Dog Land Christmas party where the spirit of Christmas was delivered to over 600 dogs and cats and the entire staff at Gunsan Dog Land.

✨For those amazing friends and family that have sent donations for the dogs here in Gunsan, whether Amazon wishlist gifts or money, we’ve decided to host the first ever Dog Land Christmas, and it’s happening on Saturday!

🎁The Dog Land Outreach volunteers got together and wrapped hundreds of gifts for the dogs, cats and staff members at the rescue shelter and purchased a tree for them to go under.🎄

We’ve also picked up some special Christmas “attire” for the “guests” to wear🐶!

There’s even a Mr. & Mrs. Claus costume that may or may not be worn by some of us...🎅🏻

❤️If you’d like to see where some of your donations are going, stay tuned for the greatest party most of these dogs will ever see.

It’s all because of you🎄
THANK YOU‼️

Introducing our November Volunteer of the Month!!

Hayley Prato was one of the first volunteers to join the DogLand Outreach volunteer group and has been a dedicated member since August. Over the last month, she coordinated the Outreach’s 2nd Armed Forces Network live radio appearance, secured our role in the December Airmen 4 Airmen Holiday Extravaganza where we will be spreading our message to the Kunsan Air Base community, recruited over 30 volunteers from within her duty section, managed the photography for the volunteer group’s 4 social media accounts and was the photographer for 2 no-notice local rescue missions in November which resulted in 8 successful saves.
Hayley joins the DogLand Outreach group every Sunday for several hours of volunteer work each week. It’s because of people like her that we are able to make a difference in Korea.
Let’s give it up for Hayley👏

🎁 This holiday season, consider giving to pets in need. A toy, treat, or bed could make the world of difference to the pets of Dog Land.

✨ Many of the pets under our care are rescued from terrible situations. Even the smallest act of generosity will brighten their lives.

Special congrats to Bridget, one of our volunteers and part of the DogLand Outreach volunteer group, for adopting Benni. Benni will be moving to Chicago! 🐻

With hundreds of dog and cat guests at DogLand patiently waiting for their forever homes, there’s no shortage of pets that need looking after. That’s why the volunteers that help DogLand matter so much!

Some of the volunteers have worked directly with DogLand to rescue dogs from abuse or neglect. Others spend their time off volunteering in any way possible (including the unglamorous but necessary job of 💩 pick-up!), and our digital volunteers—like you—help us by spreading the word & donating money or items.

Many thanks to the volunteers who help care for DogLand’s pets and spread the word about DogLand. You are appreciated! 👏❤️🙌

Our #1 goal at Dog Land is to help the pets that need us the most.

Many of the dogs who come to us are in dire conditions and desperately need our help. This is especially true for specially-abled or handicapped pets. It's from the loving care of partners like Director Oh Hong-geun of Iksan Wawoo Animal Hospital that we're able to provide medical treatment for these precious pups.

This week, we had the opportunity to help these pets in a BIG way by working with our partner, Korean Dogs and their CEO Kim Bok-hee, to send them to the UK where they will receive treatment and find loving homes.

We're BEYOND happy to report that the dogs have arrived safely in the UK!

Please continue to think of them and send them your wishes for this exciting new chapter in their lives.

About the Dogs:
↠ Yong-yi, a spitz, was rescued after a car accident.
He had a few surgeries, but the spinal fracture has left him paralyzed.

↠ Hwang Sun-i, a mixed dog, was reported to us and later found to have a bullet in his spine. We're hopeful that his shooting was an accident.
↠ Yong and Hwang Sun-i had the same lower-body paralysis disorder, so they became very close.

↠ Sua and Jin-soon.
Sua came in a bad condition and had a baby in the shelter.
Jin-soon also lost her front leg in a car accident.

Thank you for your generous donations! 👏

We’ve gotten a lot of questions from people who want to help Dog Land but aren’t sure how.

Do you want to help Dog Land but you don’t live in Korea to volunteer in person?
That’s ok!
Here are three easy ways to help Dog Land right now:

💰 Donate to Dog Land. This money goes DIRECTLY to Dog Land and is 100% spent on expenses caring for and helping to find homes for Dog Land’s pets: PayPal.me/GunsanDogCat

📦 Donate items to Dog Land via our Amazon wish list. These items will help feed, support, and provide mental stimulation to the pets at Dog Land: bit.ly/gunsandogland

🗣 Spread the word! By sharing our posts and telling your friends and family about Dog Land, you’re helping to amplify our voice and the voices of the pets at Dog Land who need our help.

Thank you to all of the generous donations that have come in from our Amazon wishlist. (Just a few of the MANY items are pictured here!)

👉 Special thanks to Dog Land Outreach volunteer, Cristina, for setting up and managing this wishlist!

Gunsan Dog Land Outreach, South Korea

There are many dogs that are in desperate need of help in South Korea, and Gunsan is no different. Gunsan is a remote area approximately 3 hours south of Seoul and Gunsan Dog Land is the only animal rescue & sanctuary in the area. They have a very small group of staff and volunteers currently caring for over 600 dogs and they desperately need your help to find them homes that will care for them. The Dog Land Outreach is a group of Americans, mostly stationed at Kunsan Air Base, that support Dog Land by volunteering every week and spreading the word about them. If you’re interested in adopting, volunteering, donating or assisting in any way, please do not wait to contact us. Together, we can make an enormous and lasting change in many lives.
