Everybody meet Sampson!
He came in as a baby with an upper respiratory infection. With lots of meds, oxygen, and time he is finally healed up. He loves cuddling with his stuffed frog and doing big yawns.

If you accidentally hit an animal while driving and can safely stop, please check to ensure the animal is deceased and not left to suffer in this heat. ONLY IF YOU CAN SAFELY STOP.
This sweet girl was hit by a truck and a Good Samaritan stopped to assist her. Most of the animals we take in were not hit by the finder, and people just assume they were deceased upon being hit, but that is not always the case! If you do hit an animal on accident, you will not receive judgment from us, we just want to ensure the animal is taken care of. Thanks for looking out for our local wildlife!

One Mississippi, two mississippi, three mississippi, four… and a lot more! We took in 12 Mississippi kites within the past two days. Most have arrived in pretty rough shape ranging from fly strike with maggots to being impaled by a stick!

Please help us support the care of these sweet babies by donating at https://www.pawsandclawswildlife.org/product/donate/1
Anything helps! They are extremely expensive to rehabilitate.

Good Riddance Beryl!
You just had to knock down everyone’s home. What a day it was for us. The phone never stopped ringing. If we did not return your call please accept our sincere apologies and please try calling again today if you still need assistance. You can reach us at (979) 676-3974.

Pictured is a small portion of what we took in yesterday. Thankfully we were also able to reunite quite a lot of babies!

‼️ Warning: Graphic video ‼️

This cottontail rabbit was brought to us after someone noticed it was lethargic and appeared to have a lump on its neck. After examining the rabbit, we found the mass/lump was a massive cuterebra botfly larva! The bunny has since recovered and been released back to the wild to live out the rest of its life happy and hopefully botfly free!

Watch to the end! Teeter says thank you to Ms. Connie for dropping off these delicious carrots. Teeter also wants to know if this is what we humans call “Door Dash”?

Disclaimer: All of our animals will be wild by the time of release! These are current patients and very young babies who are all on track for eventual release.

Flynn Update!
He has been growing so much and is loving his outdoor enclosure. He has dug a huge hole that helps him stay cool in this hot Texas weather. He spends his days lounging and playing with his stuffed animals!

We wanted to say a big thank you to River, one of our volunteers! She built us a beautiful bottle rack for the fawns!

We have been meaning to post this for awhile, but our newest building is finally finished! We wanted to thank everybody involved who donated to make this possible. Also, a special thank you to our contractor Stephen Beck who donated his time to help us map out and accomplish our project! Another special thank you goes to Lowe’s who assisted with the materials in our building such as donating drywall and discounted cabinets. We had so many volunteers help us renovate the building and we couldn’t have done it without the community.

Wildlife Rehab Life.. letting your pride go and ungracefully run down Hwy 6 with a net looking like a crazy woman! 🤣 On the bright side, we did manage to capture the hawk that was hit by a car. He can’t fly, but he can run!

Our orphaned babies are beginning to run low on toys to snuggle and play with. If anybody has any gently used stuffed animals or dog toys we would love to restock their beloved collection! Please text (979) 676-3974 if you have any you would like to drop off in College Station.

Is it just me? Or does anybody else find this highly satisfying to listen to? Normally I hate listening to people chew, but I can listen to our beaver munching on her food all day!

Live long and prosperous my little warriors ♥️ 🐇

The baby cottontails first came to us with various dog wounds.

We also released an adult, but the video is on Instagram since Facebook only allows one video.

Are you having a bad hair day? Is this humidity making your hair frizzy? Well, just remember it could be worse. You could look like Gertrude!

Poor Gertrude! If the hair isn’t bad enough, she had to be rescued yesterday after getting a fishing lure and line caught in her wing. Now she has a hurt wing and lacerations to her foot, but should make a full recovery.

Rub-a-dub-dub just a beaver in her tub! Teeter (named by one of the animal control officers that brought her) has been showing some progress the past few days. She has loved swimming around in her outdoor pool (supervised of course). In this video you can see her bathing and drying off after a good swim session. Two days ago she was so neurological that she was only able to go in tight circles while swimming, but today she was actually able to swim out and dive a bit without showing extensive signs.

While working with wildlife, you see a lot of different personalities in each and every animal. A lot are scared, some are goofy, and this girl is just loving life. I have never seen a patient so happy to be in captivity.🤣 When it comes to (hopefully) releasing her, we will most likely have to evict her from our shelter. She is quite content, especially if the sweet potatoes keep coming her way.

Too sweet not to share.

This morning we received a mockingbird who had hit a window. The person who delivered the bird told us that the wet spot on top of his head was not blood, but holy oil. The person who found the bird had been saying a prayer for this injured bird and anointed it in holy oil which is very sweet. It was transported to us shortly after and is in our care now.

Here is a cute video for your Sunday afternoon! This little girl is obsessed with her makeshift pacifier. She steals them out of the dish baskets whenever she has the chance 🤣

Disclaimer: These collars are only used for identification purposes. We already have 12 fawns and all the spots look very similar! These collars help us identify who is eating, who needs medications, and their history. She will eventually be released back into the wild.

Somebody is feeling a bit better today! She has been enjoying her spa day.
