Pet owners please read...
The California Vet Med Board just notified all DVMs of restrictions of using veterinary telemedicine and actually increased the restrictions outside of the current practice act, despite this pandemic. Despite the federal government temporarily easing the restrictions nationwide and Governor Newsom suggesting to ease the restrictions too temporarily.
I've attached a petition prepared by the veterinary telemedicine community for both pet owners and DVMs in regard to this ruling. As a pet owner, if you would like to see this tool accessible to you as an option to communicate with your DVM in the future, I would encourage you to participate as well. Ultimately, the board needs to hear from pet owners since that is essentially who they work to protect. Thank you...

Great tips in regards to Covid 19. Also check resources and recommendations by the CVMA (California Veterinary Medical Association) and the AVMA (American Veterinary Medical Association) websites as well as the CDC, etc.

Both the FDA and the state of California have softened the regulations in regards to veterinarian-client-patient relationships which will open up the door for increased ability to utilize telemedicine for consultations within some parameters.....thankful for this so veterinarians can advise pet owners from their own homes during the Covid-19 crisis.
Non-emergency and elective procedures are to be postponed at this time.

Hello friends,
I am starting a Telehealth (Teletriage) consulting service for those needing veterinary advice and prefer to do so from their own homes during the shelter at home mandate and the Covid-19 crisis. I can help anyone across the country with a general assessment if your pet should be taken into the ER or if it can potentially wait to be seen by your DVM, and give some basic advice but not a definitive diagnosis. I can offer advice and potentially treatment options for clients in the state of California and definitely any of my regular clients that already have an established vet-client-patient relationship with me. I am offering this service for donations only through the end of March and the shelter at home mandate. At this time communication is only via FB messenger in about 30 min increments until I figure out which platform will be the best to work with ultimately. I can also be emailed at [email protected]. I generally can respond within two hours but please put URGENT in the title if it is something you feel needs an urgent reply. Venmo or PayPal can be used for donations at this time but will also change once I figure out how to best set this up and which platform to use. Thank you. I hope everyone is staying healthy and enjoying the shelter at home time to get long standing projects accomplished that have been put on hold for too long. :-)
