Love isn’t just giving your dog affection.

Love is teaching them how to have manners and know boundaries.

Love is prioritizing their health through routine vet care, grooming and pet insurance.

Love is giving them the socialization, stimulation and space that their breed needs (and knowing BEFORE getting a certain breed what they need).

Love is being a responsible owner by picking up their waste in public and obeying the animal policies of businesses.

For most of us, dog parks are an easy, free, and accessible way for dogs to socialize and get exercise. But because they're a largely unregulated space, there is a lot of room for trouble to happen too.

Taking intentional breaks from training actually HELPS training by:
➡️ Giving your dog time to just be a dog and to rest
➡️ Creating higher value of the treats and attention they get while training
➡️ Allowing their brain to process behaviors they've learned

Fear training is all about exposing your dog to what scares them in a gradual, low stress way, with positive reinforcement, so that they build confidence.

Yep, it's possible to encourage your dog to bark at everything. 🙃

But it's just as possible to teach them NOT to, especially if you have a puppy. It all starts with ignoring the bark, and only giving your dog attention when they're quiet.
