Sunrise at the beach, and sunset too, is a potent time to do elemental magicks- the sun(fire) meets the sea (water) as it meets the land (earth ) and colors the sky (air). Altar tools dipped in the ocean at this time will hum with energy for a fortnight.

Yemaya, Orisha of the Ocean. Known by other names and aspects such as La Siren, the mermaid. She is loving and cruel and the mother of other Orisha. Much like the Ocean, she is powerful and foreboding.

Make sure to pay your proper respects to her when you visit the ocean. Rosehips that grow by the sea are potent La Siren energy and excellent for offerings.

Shrouded in secrecy and itself veiled by symbolism, the unusual approach to dimensions and realms beyond realms evokes the alchemical pursuit for transmutation and to connect the worldly to the other worldly.
When the sun and the moon are both visible in the sky, do you still get excited? The moments they are both present are incredibly potent times for fruition. I keep my oils at hand, my burning mixtures ready, and my altar set to go.

I was first taught to leave my body by counting all the stars in the sky. My teachers taught me to lay back and not to miss a single one, to go in closer and inspecting all the spots that look dark one minute and glitter the next. Breathing up at the dark sky, floating higher with every breath.

After that changing the color of the sky, the stars, into a chromatic cascade, becomes a mirror for your will upon the body of Nuit, while she embraces you.

How many stars can you count in your sky? Can you make them disappear? Appear? Change color?

How does a person envision the Ain Soph Aur, the Heavens beyond the imagination? A place of pure energy and potential in a sphere beyond concepts of definition and manifestation.

The whole of the world in an exhale and inhale, expanding and contracting, solve et coagula, exists in knowable and unknowable forms. That is the macrocosm, and in perfect formula every aspect of being exemplifies this in microcosm: you and your life, what is your knowable goal, identity, form? What is the ideal state beyond that which is knowable, and from where do those concepts originate?

Undoing constructions of knowledge derived from the senses alone is the first step, asking what lies beyond that which is above to be discerned from the senses in the next.

Milk Thistle, also known as Blessed Milk Thistle and St. Mary’s Thistle is a major player in herbalism and magick all over the world. Infused with flavor, with color, the spirit and character. From cocktails, to oils, medicine, and enchanted potions infusions are a common way to merge herbal elements into a base.

Using the tender leaves of rosemary and or the fresh delicate flowers of fresh elements like rose buds, or the aromatic elements of soft plants parts like garlic cloves, they are immersed and bottled in place, for multiple days and sometimes weeks. Usually done in room@temperature conditions for longer periods of time the base becomes a perfect union of the elements within, especially useful for well paired combinations like classic juniper and gin, or garlic and olive oil.

Where poison meets medicine, where science meets art, Æther meets matter is the gate to the unfolding path of the arcana of baneful plants and their history in traditional witchcraft.

Flying Ointments are the classic example of deadly and poisonous plants used for their properties, with risk and with legendary outcomes.

Hemlock, most infamously the herb used to execute the Ancient Greek philosopher Socrates.

Hemlock bears strong resemblance to Queen Anne’s Lace, Fennel, Wild Carrot making it a creeping memento mori for foragers everywhere.

Like many of the flying herbs, paralysis is a feature of the work of Hemlock, associated with being able to sever the spirit from the body. Hemlock is still used to consecrate altar weapons in Hermetic traditions
