Meet SamSam, a charming one-year-old boy with a sad past. Rescued by The Fuzzy Pet Foundation (TFPF) from a dire hoarding situation, SamSam’s early life was marred by neglect and hardship. Many nights he went to bed hungry, often left outside in the scorching heat without shelter. Despite these challenges, his resilient spirit and loving nature have endured, and now he’s ready to find his forever home.

SamSam absolutely loves being held and craves human affection. He bonds quickly and thrives on love and attention. Playful and full of energy, SamSam delights in his toys and excels on leash walks. His sharp intelligence means he’ll alert you when strangers are near, always eager to be by your side.

Weighing just 11 pounds, SamSam might be small, but his personality is boundless. He enjoys exploring and showing off his playful antics. 🚨 URGENT RESCUE: HELP US SAVE THESE PRECIOUS LIVES! 🚨

Team TFPF recently rescued three tiny kittens from a heartbreaking and unimaginable situation in Long Beach. A young homeless man on a bike threw two of their siblings so violently against a wall that they didn’t survive. 💔 These three survivors, just weeks old, are lucky to be alive—but their fight is far from over.

One of the kittens is suffering from a painful eye injury, and all three will need medical care and time to heal. Determined to protect their family, we returned to the area and rescued their mama and another kitten from her previous litter. Now, five innocent lives are safe in our care—but they desperately need your help to recover and thrive.

Dear Fuzzy Friends,

It’s with a heavy heart and tear-filled eyes that I share this news: my sweet Scooby-Roo has crossed the Rainbow Bridge after more than 15 incredible years by my side. Roo was more than a pet to me—he was family, a loyal companion, and a true inspiration.

His journey began in 2009 when The Fuzzy Pet Foundation (TFPF) took him in after two Good Samaritans found him and his sister, Reese, near the I-110 Freeway in South Central Los Angeles. Roo was missing his front legs due to reckless inbreeding, but that never dimmed his spirit. He was determined to live life to the fullest, and he taught us all what real resilience looks like. Reese, his sweet sister, went on to find her forever home with a wonderful attorney in Santa Monica, while Roo stayed with me and became the love of my life.

Thanks to Prince and Paris Jackson, who helped raise awareness for special-needs animals like Roo, his story touched hearts everywhere. Alyssa Milano, his godmother, took an active role in his care, supporting his therapy and making sure he received his custom-made wheels so he could explore the world with joy. His rescue story was featured worldwide in media outlets and translated into multiple languages. Roo left an impact that will stay with us forever.

In my care, Roo was given the best of everything—premium food, constant affection, and dedicated medical attention from some of the most talented vets and specialists. Roo had his own team of ophthalmologists, neurologists, acupuncturists, and multiple dedicated vets. Our home was “Roo-proofed” with landing spots to keep him safe as he hopped and jumped around, especially in his younger years. In his heart, Roo was unstoppable—he was active, loving, and never wanted to be left alone, his spirit shining through even in his darkest days.

As he grew older, age began to catch up with him. His little body, already fighting kidney issues, anemia, and a deteriorating lower back, started to slow down. When his quality of life faded, I made the hardest decision to let him go peacefully, surrounded by love. It’s a comfort to know he’s at peace, though my heart feels the weight of his absence deeply.

In Roo’s memory, I invite anyone touched by his story to contribute to the ROO FUND. Your support will help TFPF continue our mission, providing care for animals with special needs and expanding spay/neuter efforts to combat animal homelessness.

She is incredibly gentle, calm, and affectionate—always seeking a warm lap to curl up on. 🥰 With her dog-like loyalty, Lady Moose will follow you from room to room, resting her head on your lap or just staying close by. She is the perfect snuggler, and her love for human companionship will melt your heart.

Lady Moose is also playful and enjoys chasing her toys, making her a joy to have around the house. She gets along well with well-mannered cats and dogs, and has even been around a young child in her foster home without ever showing any signs of aggression. Her calm and gentle nature, combined with her dog-like loyalty, makes her the perfect companion.

Lady Moose is in excellent health. She weighs 9.68 pounds, is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccines, lab work, and is microchipped.

🌈💔 Farewell to Fieldie — A Letter from Germany 💔🌈

We are heartbroken to share the passing of our beloved alum, Fieldie, who was adopted from us by the amazing Lisa W. in 2015. Fieldie came to TFPF flea-infested, scared, and in desperate need of care after his previous owner could no longer afford to keep him. But his story took a beautiful turn when Lisa stepped in and adopted him from TFPF in Southern California, giving him a life full of love, comfort, and adventure.

Lisa later moved back to her home in Germany, and Fieldie went with her, where he continued to thrive in a home full of zoomies and cuddles. Over the years, he bravely faced health challenges, including Feline Odontoclastic Resorptive Lesions (FORL), a severe protein allergy, and multiple surgeries. Recently, Fieldie was diagnosed with what was likely large cell intestinal lymphoma. Despite Lisa’s best efforts and treatments, Fieldie’s condition worsened, and she made the heartbreaking decision to help him pass peacefully.

At TFPF, we pride ourselves on finding the best homes for our rescues, and Lisa is the perfect example of an adopter who went above and beyond for her beloved Fieldie. We are endlessly grateful to our adopters, like Lisa, who give our animals lives full of love, care, and dedication.

Lisa shared her grief with us, saying: “He was probably the most wonderful cat, friend, and companion I could ever have hoped for. I did my best to make his life the most worthy and enjoyable it could be... I repaired my grandmother’s old wooden box with the art of kintsugi, by emphasizing the broken pieces and cracks. Fieldie’s health might have been compromised all his life, but he was a beautiful, gentle soul. And he deserved a final resting place just as special.”

We are so proud to have placed Fieldie in such a loving home, and we will forever cherish the love and dedication Lisa gave him. His journey reminds us of the resilience of rescue animals and the profound impact of a compassionate home.

Rest in peace, sweet Fieldie. You will forever be in our hearts. 🧡🐾✨

🐾 Our Thorough Adoption Process 🐾

At The Fuzzy Pet Foundation (TFPF), we take the responsibility of finding the best homes for our animals very seriously. Our adoption process is designed to ensure the safety and well-being of every cat and dog. Here are the steps involved:

(1) Application: Each prospective adopter must fill out a detailed application.
(2) Reference Check: We contact provided references to learn more about the adopter's experience and suitability.
(3) Phone Call: We have a conversation to discuss expectations and answer any questions.
(4) Home Visit: A home visit is conducted to ensure a safe environment for the pet.
(5) Adoption Contract and Fee: Once approved, an adoption contract is signed to finalize the process, and the adoption fee will be collected.

🌟 A Few Important Reminders 🌟

❤️ Respect and Kindness: We are a group of working professionals running TFPF as a volunteer-driven organization. We pour our hearts and souls into caring for these animals. Please be respectful and kind in your communications with us.

❤️ Patience: Our animals are in individual foster homes. Please do not demand to see them immediately or on the same day. We need time to thoroughly screen each application. Remember, we do not adopt out on a first-come, first-served basis.

❤️ Adoption Fees: These fees help cover a fraction of the expenses for vet care, housing, and supplies. Our adoption fee is generally 1/10 of what we incur. Please do not negotiate these fees as though you're bargaining for a bag of fruit. If you cannot afford the basic adoption fee, we advise against adopting, as vet bills and pet care expenses are significant everywhere.

❤️ Living Beings: Our animals are living, sentient beings. We ask for your understanding and patience as we work to find them the most loving and responsible homes.

🚫 Zero Tolerance Policy: We will not tolerate rude, disrespectful, or entitled behavior, including "nasty grams" or aggressive calls.

ADOPT PIERRE!

Pierre's story is one of resilience and hope. This precious poodle mix was found running along the 105 freeway in the scorching heat, his fur matted and covering his eyes, and wearing a sweater despite the blazing weather. Thanks to the quick actions of a few Good Samaritans, Pierre was brought to safety. The local animal shelter arrived shortly after and their humane officer took him in.

When the humane officer contacted his owner, we discovered that Pierre didn't even have a proper name – he was merely nicknamed Bugatti after his owner's dream car. The owner didn't want him back. We decided to give this charming and elegant pup a more suitable name – Pierre.

Pierre is a less-than-one-year-old poodle mix, weighing 13.72 pounds. He is the SWEETEST dog ever. He is playful, loves humans, and is gentle with other cats and dogs. He loves everyone he meets and is incredibly friendly. Our vets are all mesmerized by his sweet temperament and loving nature.

Pierre has a unique and adorable habit of standing on his two hind legs like a meerkat to observe his surroundings. He loves going on walks and enjoys every moment spent with his human friends. Pierre is looking for a responsible home where he can get the care and attention he deserves. While Pierre gets along well with everyone, we prefer to place him in a calm, loving home without rambunctious, young children.

ADOPT BIRDIE!

Meet Birdie, a sweet six-month-old Terrier girl with a story that will touch your heart. Birdie came from a very neglectful home where numerous animals were collected but not properly cared for or given necessary vet treatment. Her previous owners would let her roam the streets until midnight, exposing her to outdoor dangers and leaving her vulnerable.

When we rescued Birdie, she was uncertain and her tan fur was covered in dirt and f***s. Her little paws were raw from walking on rough pavements, and her eyes showed a deep sadness that spoke of her difficult past. It took us a couple of months of tender care, nutritious food, and medical treatment to nurse her back to health.

Now, Birdie is a transformed pup, full of life and joy. She has a happy and affectionate nature, loving nothing more than cuddling up to her humans. Birdie is very playful, loves toys, and enjoys doing zoomies around the yard. She can run very fast, and her favorite pastime is squeaking her toys and exploring her surroundings. She loves humans and does well with other dogs. We have not yet tested her around cats, but she does not have a mean bone in her body.

Birdie is also incredibly sweet and has a special charm that captivates everyone she meets. She enjoys yummy treats and always looks forward to snack time. Our vets are mesmerized by her loving temperament and resilience.

Birdie is looking for a responsible and loving home where she can continue to thrive. While Birdie gets along well with everyone, we prefer to place her in a home without rambunctious young children who could startle or injure her.

🚨 RESCUED! Meet Pierre! 🚨

We have an incredible rescue story to share with you all. 💔 Recently, our team took in a poodle-type dog running along the 105 freeway in the scorching heat. His fur was covering his eyes, and he was wearing a sweater despite the blazing weather. Poor Pierre was severely matted and in desperate need of help.

Thanks to the swift actions of a few Good Samaritans, they managed to catch him and bring him to safety. The local shelter arrived shortly after to assist. When the humane officer contacted his owner, we learned that this sweet soul didn't even have a name. The owner simply nicknamed him after his dream car, Bugatti, and didn't want him back.

We decided to give this precious pup a name that truly matches his charm and elegance – Pierre. 🐩✨ Our vets estimate that Pierre is less than a year old, and let us tell you, he is the SWEETEST dog ever! 💖

🌟 Happy Tail Alert: Teddy's Triumph 🌟

We are thrilled to share Teddy's heartwarming journey to his forever home with a compassionate couple in San Jose, CA, who are both human specialty doctors. 🏡💕

From the moment we reviewed their application, we knew this match was meant to be. Known for their kind and patient care, they had previously given a rescued Schnauzer a wonderful life filled with love, regular walks, and excellent veterinary attention. Described by their references as devoted and gentle, they treated their previous pet like a cherished son.

Their vet and specialists consistently praised their commitment, noting their regular visits and comprehensive pet insurance, ensuring their pets always receive the care they need. Convinced we had found the perfect home, we flew with Teddy to meet his new family, a meeting that would start his wonderful new chapter.

Today, Teddy is living the dream in Northern California. No longer facing the harsh realities of the LA projects, where he once roamed hungry and afraid, he now lounges in multiple cozy beds, enjoys daily adventures, and even recently strolled through UC Berkeley's iconic Sather Gate, basking in the sunshine.

Last week, our team at TFPF undertook a critical mission to Sacramento where we rescued Lola, a young mother dog, and her four puppies from severe neglect. Left in a backyard without shelter and deprived of basic care, their plight was desperate. Their previous owner surrendered them to us, unable to commit to even the essential veterinary care they needed. 🏡😢

Now safe under our care, Lola and her puppies require veterinary care, warmth, and consistent nurturing. These puppies, only five weeks old, will remain with us until they are ready to be spayed/neutered and find their forever homes. 🐶🍼

A few weeks ago, we were featured on 7News DC, where we advocated for Georgetown University to replace the live animal "mascot," Jack, with a human-costumed alternative. Jack, like any companion animal, deserves a loving home environment rather than being subjected to the strains of loud, boisterous basketball games while wearing a metal choke collar—a condition that can exacerbate the breathing challenges common among brachycephalic breeds like him.

We are delighted that The Hoya, Georgetown University’s student-run newspaper, highlighted our story, helping to raise further awareness on this issue.
