Benny Explores Main Beach!
Benny, our resident Zen Master, has found tranquility in the most loving home! 🐾🧘♂️
Benny's journey has not been an easy one. He was purchased from a mall as a Havanese puppy and then surrendered to The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - TFPF because his owner was moving. His care was limited to occasional haircuts; he had never been to a vet, received no vaccines, and wellness checks were unheard of.
But Benny's story takes a beautiful turn here. In the wake of their senior dogs passing away last year, his new parents were ready to bring another dog into their lives. Their peaceful, nurturing energy is the perfect match for Benny's calm demeanor. Even their yoga sessions have a new participant! 🧘♀️🐕
Benny's life is now filled with love and care. This clip of him making a grand entrance at Main Beach in Laguna is just a sneak peek into his joyful new life. His transformation from a mall puppy with minimal care to a cherished family member is a testament to the power of adoption. 💕
We're so thrilled for Benny's new beginnings and forever grateful to his adoptive parents. Thank you for opening your hearts and home to him.

UPDATE - Tiger (Special-Needs) <3
Tiger's mommy, Julie, checked in with us to say he continues to thrive in his forever home! He loves his Chihuahua sisters, and has proven to be mama's sweet little boy. He recently got a summer haircut too!
Tiger's former "family" had left him at the vet's office after they learned he would be forever handicapped from a slipped disc. But Julie isn't letting Tiger's past haunt him one bit! She continues to take him to physical therapy at the state-of-the-art NGVS (North Georgia Veterinary Specialists) facility. And Tiger's little legs are getting stronger and stronger!
You got this, Tiger! We miss and love you so much!
Tiger Gets Acupuncture!
UPDATE - Tiger <3
Happy New Year!
With your love and support, The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF) has been able to continue to give Tiger top-notch medical care. This past weekend, we took him to a wonderful physical therapy center called Two Hands Four Paws for some electro-acupuncture, cold laser therapy, and massages! Tiger charmed everyone with his big smile and zoomed around the whole facility in his wheelchair. He also got some super yummy treats along with his favorite Kong-filled peanut butter!
Next weekend, we hope to announce a sweet, sweet surprise to all of you! Please be sure to check back for all the details. :)
We still have some fundraising to do for Tiger. Will you please help us share Tiger's GoFundMe link?

Tiger's vet bills have not been cheap with his (slow-healing) decubitus ulcer and medical boarding. We pour our hearts and souls into loving and caring for all our rescue "babies." We need your help!
Mimi - Jetting Off to Tennessee!
UPDATE - Mimi <3
The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF) just returned from our trip to Tennessee! Mimi was adopted to one of our former adopters, and we could not have asked for a better home! We will share with everyone a Happy Tail update soon, but in the meantime, please enjoy this video clip from the airport!
We made sure Mimi's teeth were nicely polished, health checked, and her hair professionally groomed (courtesy of Valerie at Your Elegant Pet) before escorting Mimi to her forever home. And we didn't forget to do some shopping for her! Isn't she so pretty in pink?
Life is O-SO-GOOD!
HAPPY TAIL - Oso (Formerly Leo) <3 PART1 of 2
The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF) first came across Oso scrounging around for food in the middle of a busy intersection in South LA. He had picked up a rotten burrito and tried to run off when he saw us approaching him. We followed him "home" only to find out his "owner" no longer wanted him. He spat three times on Oso for coming into the front yard, and told us to "take the dog and get lost."
We gladly removed Oso from his "home" and carried him into our van. On our way to the vet's office, we removed three gigantic ticks from Oso's ears; wiped him with paper towels; and gave him a quick snack. He was so tired from running from cars that he fell asleep on our laps!
Our vet shared with us that Oso had an ear infection, teeth covered with plaque and tartar, one missing tooth, and one broken tooth with an exposed root which must have been quite painful. Our vet suspected that Oso's teeth were chipped and broken from chewing on rocks while roaming the streets! Oso was underweight, and he was not neutered.
While Oso was undergoing medical treatment at our vet's office, we contacted Nikka and Maurice who had recently expressed interest in adopting a large-breed dog (and saving a life) from TFPF. We told them about Oso and how we thought they would be perfect for him (and vice versa). We knew it would be pretty hard for them to say "no" to such loving, sweet, and mellow "gentle giant" like Oso! We scheduled a meet-and-greet, and the rest is history.
Oso is now a happy boy in a home with mom and dad, two human siblings, and one canine sister (a senior Golden Retriever named Molly Weasley who was rescued from the shelter!). Oso and Molly are slowly but surely warming up to each other. They have a private trainer; they sleep on orthopedic doggy beds, eat fancy "custom" meals made by our dear friends at JustFoodForDogs; they get multiple walks a day; and they enjoy doggy daycare while their parents are hard at work! Kitty (Now Kiki!) ADOPTED!
HAPPY TAIL - Kitty (Now Kiki!) <3
Yes, it's true. The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF) seeks out the most loving, responsible adopters for our fur-babies, and Kitty hit the jackpot!
In case you may not remember, Kitty came to us already de-clawed in her front paws (a painful, cruel procedure that TFPF vehemently opposes). She was rescued from the parking lot of El Pollo Loco by Good Samaritans; she had weighed less than a pound and was crying for help. The folks who found Kitty nurtured her back to health and kept Kitty until they realized they really did not have time to properly care for their two dogs and Kitty. TFPF accepted Kitty with open arms, and promised her a brighter future.
Kitty is now Kiki, and she is living the life of a princess in San Juan Capistrano! Kitty has a sweet doggy to play with; fresh flowing water to drink; and when she is not resting near the windows under direct sunlight or snuggling up to mom and dad, she is racing up and down the stairs in nonstop motion! We could not have asked for better adopters for Kitty. They are nurturing, caring, and they understand that our pets require a lifetime commitment! And it's worth noting here that even their veterinarian personally reached out to TFPF during our application review process to let us know just how amazing they would be for Kitty.
Today is Kitty's first birthday (we arbitrarily decided on the date, 11/12/2015), so her family is making sure she gets extra love and attention. We wish Kitty and her family continued joy and happiness, and many more birthday celebrations in the years to come!
Bath Time Baby!
UPDATE - Miley <3
The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF) is grateful for the outpouring love and support for Miley. She is still in foster care and doing very well. She loves eating, playing with her squeaky toys... and rolling in the dirt and grass. Hence, the bath this past weekend! :)
For those of you who have been wondering why Miley still has not been placed into a forever home... We have been reviewing applications and we have also conducted a handful of home-checks. And we will continue to do so! Miley has her own needs and we aren't going to drop her off at any random home and pat ourselves on the back. Considering where she was found (a trash dump) and the loss of her first mom, we have every reason to be picky about her ultimate forever home. Further, just because Miley is a "famous dog" does not mean any and every home would be an excellent match for her. The fact that there are hundreds of Huskies who look exactly like Miley and are patiently awaiting adoption throughout the country (as shown on petfinder.com) is an indicator that it takes time to find quality homes and the Husky breed is not for everyone.
We appreciate your continued interest and will post any and all updates on this page.
Jetting Off to San Francisco!
Fuzzy Friends!
How was your weekend?
Team TFPF just returned from our trip to San Francisco! We are EXHAUSTED! We flew up with Max (Golden) and Tilly (special-needs Frenchie) to conduct two home-checks. From being chained up all his life in Compton, Max hit the jack-pot with a doting family of five in Northern California. We returned to Los Angeles with Tilly as her adoption was not approved. The family of four was in love with Tilly, but their adorable dog was a bit too bossy to Tilly who is extra fragile having had a hemilaminectomy procedure in the past.
Here is just a glimpse of what we do. We will travel to the moon and back to place our cats and dogs into responsible, loving homes. We extensively screen all prospective adopters, one by one, and we never irresponsibly schlep hordes of animals to random homes to inflate our adoption stats. These "fur-babies" depend on us with all their lives, and we need to make sure they never, ever go another day homeless, hungry, thirsty, scared, sick, injured, abused, and/or neglected. This is our promise.
For ALL Animals,
Sheila
Flora On the Mend!
UPDATE - Flora <3
LINK: https://www.gofundme.com/floraflora
Please continue to SHARE this post. We have raised 1/10 of Flora's surgery bill for her dorsal laminectomy! To our Fuzzy Friends who have donated, a big, huge THANK YOU for allowing The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF) to provide Flora with the best possible veterinary care. We really can't wait to find Flora her perfect home after she recovers. She deserves it!
HAPPY TAIL - Duffy's BIG Day!
HAPPY TAIL - Duffy (Special Needs) (y)
Duffy, a seven-year old Pomeranian, who was discarded in a box at local pet supply store is HOME SWEET HOME! And he's loving every minute of it with the Curtis Family in Marysville, WA!
As you may remember, Duffy came to us with an enlarged heart and a collapsed trachea. It was not until a few weeks ago when we learned Duffy's coughing had worsened; he needed an echocardiogram and our vet soon prescribed four different medications to be given to him for life.
Duffy's "special needs" didn't stop the Curtis Family from adopting him! Of course, they first made sure they could 100% commit to all of Duffy's needs by discussing Duffy's heart condition with their "team of veterinarians." They wanted to honor their beloved Momo's (a rescue Pom) passing by opening their hearts and home to another Pom in need. Plus, their current Pom, Choley, was pining for Momo and desperately needed another fur-brother.
The Curtis Family's vets couldn't tell us enough amazing things about their commitment to all their animals over the years! When they learned Momo was diagnosed with an early-stage cancer, for example, they made sure Momo was strong, healthy, and in good spirits before seeking out chemotherapy treatments. And after eight sessions of chemo at a renowned veterinary oncology center in Seattle, WA, Momo was in remission! Momo lived a long, healthy, and happy life before he passed away.
It was a huge honor and pleasure accompanying Duffy to his forever home last weekend. The Curtis Family was over the moon about the arrival of their new "fur-baby"; and Chloey and Duffy immediately gravitated towards each other. This is the type of success story The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF) works so hard to achieve for our animals 365 days a year.
A hearty THANKS to our powerful network of donors and veterinarians for making this happen! WE DID IT! <3
Beach, Beach, Baby!
UPDATE - Miley <3
We are slightly overdue for an update on our snow princess, Miley. She is doing well in the care of The Fuzzy Pet Foundation - (TFPF). She had so much fun at the beach the other day! She was so playful and sweet around the other dogs. She didn't swim, but she sure loved stepping into the waters!
With the help of ABC7 and BarkPost, we have received a lot of interest from folks around the nation wanting to adopt Miley. We are taking our time to find her the most perfect home; we appreciate your patience! As you know, our beloved Toni Bua really pampered Miley and she will be a hard act to follow. Miley needs a home where she can have free run of the house (please no crates, kennels, etc.); be allowed on furniture; and get plenty of exercise. Miley prefers to live in a home without cats!
We have received some criticism about our stringent, extensive adoption process. Please understand that as a reputable and responsible rescue organization, TFPF takes very seriously the care and placement of all our animals, not just Miley. There's no point in rescuing any animal only to place him/her back into a sub-par situation. We are only focused on the animal's needs and interests, not on adoption statistics. Hence, we go above and beyond for our cats and dogs in terms of providing them with top-notch veterinary care and finding them phenomenal homes. #standwithTFPF Miley will be placed into nothing short of a wonderful, responsible, and stable home soon. <3
Miley's Lunch Outing!
Happy Saturday, Fuzzy Friends! Miley is doing well, and she just enjoyed a yummy, nutritious meal on this beautiful day! <3 We did post an update on Miley the other day; please be sure to read it! Thank you for your love and support!
