I was rather stressed about this transition of weaning Arlo and putting him in with dad Alfie being a stallion and all, but how cute are these two!!

Fills my soul having father and son in together testament to the temperament of them both the process went smoothly thankfully and now they’re besties ♥️

Back from an incredible weekend down in Taupo with the Friesian society. A growing group where we all enjoy our beautiful black beauties, Aurora got to spend the weekend with her mum they were so cute together. Aurora and I also had another lesson with Debbie Barke, feeling very happy with how much she has changed within a short time frame amazing what consistency with training does! I feel this year she has chilled out so much and actually able to start working not in tension the whole time. Thank you to everyone who organised this fun weekend!

Had such an amazing time away at a Debbie Barke clinic recently, was awesome to spend time with new and old friends many many laughs and good times had.

Aurora and I had a lot of learning in the 3 days that we were there and have walked away with lots to work on, Debbie gave us lots of confidence and valuable information to help create a soft supple horse. I look forward to my next lesson in a few weeks at the Friesian clinic in Taupo. All motivated now!!

My beautiful girls Aurora and Thea (Prestige VDL x Floris) enjoying a run on the sand arena yesterday after the bad weather, love seeing them stretch there legs and strut out their best moves. Both little power houses but I definitely can not wait to sit on Thea the growing up part seems to take forever!

Aurora has also been ticking along nicely, taking a step back from competing this season was a good decision to take the pressure off to consolidate and enjoy the training side. It’s sometimes easy to forget what we all do it for and at the end of the day it’s because we love these four legged creatures. I love this horse she has a heart of gold and always tries her best no such thing as a bad ride always learning.

Floris is enjoying his retirement from ridden life a little to much he reckons. Still has a decent spring in his step!

He’s had a busy breeding season with having gorgeous babies arriving as well as breeding exciting new ones for next season. Still available to breed from if your wanting your own Friesian baby 🥰

Did something a little different today…

Got my inner cowgirl side out and gave western riding a go with my bestie Becca. Was great swapping roles in being the learner in her discipline, even did some loping and spins. I had a very good boy putting up with me learning all the new buttons, as much as I enjoyed it I think I’ll stick to my stressage!

Merry Christmas to me 🎄

Finally after many many sleepless nights, he has arrived!! Meet Arlo my very first gypsy cob cross stationbred by Alfie (Gallifray Saladin) and out of Nora, excitement is an understatement. A huge thank you to everyone that made this possible! He already has such a big personality such a sassy wee soul, I think both Nora and I will have our work cut out for us.

A huge thank you to Colette from SG Stud - Boutique Equine Breeding Services for taking Nora on towards the end, she does an incredible job of all things breeding. I appreciate you!!

My heart feels so full at the moment with my precious baby’s. Thea (Prestige x Floris) is growing up into something quite special. I’ve taken my life into my own hands and going to give showing a go next weekend show prep this week!

Facebook has been quiet but it’s been a very busy breeding season behind the scenes!

Two purebred mares in foal on first insemination so far this season. Congrats to the owners on this exciting news and I can not wait to see what comes onto the ground next season. Have also had 3 new Floris babies from clients drop with photos to follow all stunning!

If you are wanting to breed to a quality stallion Floris is still available this season.

Big news!

It has come the time to move on from our piece of paradise here in Whatawhata. So we present to you our Equestrian Property.

It is a characteristic beautiful property situated a few kms from Whatawhata village and 15minutes from dinsdale. It is the perfect distance from town while still being rural.

For all the equestrian enthusiasts it is on 4.2hectares (10acres) 15 paddocks that are a either post and rail or equine fencing. it has a 60x20m sand arena with three stables, three sand yards, a tack room and what I use as a feed area now but storage space.

Attached to the stables is a decent sized hay barn in the middle and a fully enclosed shed on the other side.

The house is 216 square metres and has five bedrooms, one bathroom, two on suites, a big open plan living area and two lounges.

There is a great outdoor entertainment area which includes a built in stone fire pit with a water feature. Great for those chilly nights! and for those that love vege gardening there is a big one of those to.

Happy Birthday my special boy Seb big 2 year old! time flies can’t believe you have a new mum. Your her new baby but you will always be my baby and hold a special place in my heart. Such a cutie! He definitely caused me a few grey hairs on his arrival.

My beautiful boy SE Sebastian has sold to an awesome home down in Dunedin. It really does suck having to adult sometimes because it makes you make those tough choices. He will be stunning when he matures. Congratulations to his new owner and look forward to watching your journey together!

Rising two year old gelding coming up for sale. Out of Aurora of Glenrose Friesians ster mare and by Floris Ster Stallion with breeding permit.

This boy has lovely big movement with a calm temperament. He is very trainable and will be a super talented boy he takes everything in his stride he Has Been well handled and exposed to a number of different things, quad bikes, diggers etc and doesn’t bat an eye. He will definitely be easy to break in and a great horse for someone I’m being realistic with my time and as much as it will break my heart to part with him it’s with his best interest at heart. So glad to see some blue skies. Going to take a while to recover with all this water and mud! Love these two cuties, Thea isn’t quite 2 yet and she’s already the same size as Aurora going to be a big girl! Floris sure does throw some big babies.

It’s that time of year again already! Breeding season is upon us and both my boys will be available to breed from.

Ster Friesian Stallion

Floris (Maurits 437 x Rinske L)
Height: 167cm

Floris will be available to pure and cross bred mares. He has competed to Level 4 Dressage with placings and wins. This lovely boy throws quality foals with amazing temperaments, with some great scores at the recent keuring one being awarded first premium as a foal.

Floris is very uphill, athletic and has excellent movement.

Floris has his breeding permit with KFPS and He will be available only through AI and to limited mares.
Stud fee: $1,200 plus collection fees LFG.

Not long now till this beautiful girl has her baby, starting to slowly bag up. Scary to think it’s that time of year again, has come around so fast! We are very excited to welcome this new arrival. Watch this space 🥰

Fun family day out at a local Dressage show for two 3rds, good to get back out again after not competing for some time getting set up for the season ahead. Thank you to my support crew for coming along was a fun day. Got a new personal best of 68% so very happy with our outing on such a stunning day.

Had an awesome pole lesson today with the amazing Nicky Hallen Equestrian thank you for your support. After a little mishap with myself a few weeks ago we are back on board and hoping to compete in the next few weeks.

Aurora is coming along nicely I truly love riding this horse no such thing as a bad ride. The poles really highlight where we are at and is a great way to help build strength where strength is needed, it’s also great for engaging that brain both the horse and I! Highly recommend these lessons you learn so much!
