We all know that humans are supposed to drink 8 cups of water per a day.

How much do our dogs need?
Dogs are suggested to drink 1 fluid ounce (1/8 cup) per a pound per a day.
If your dog weighs ten pounds, then ten ounces (1.25 cups).

Tips:
- Make the water accessible
- Flavor the water
- Bring water and bowl when traveling
- Wash the bowls daily

Our pets view as tv rapidly flicking frames.
-Dogs can see 70 frame images per second.
-Cats can see 100 fps.
-Standard for movies is only 24 fps.

The most important is stay calm and assess the dog's body language for threat level.

Dogs are like horses in the fact that they are highly in tune with human's energy and vibes. If you are nervous, scared, anxious your dog will match that energy which invites chaos. If you remain calm, you and your dog are able to think clearly and do the steps to keep every one safe.

1. Move away and place your dog behind you if possible. Show your dog that you are in control and they do not have to protect/react.
2. Block dog's approach with large umbrella, citronella spray or loud noise.
3. Carry a slip leash to be able to quickly loop the leash around the loose dog and gain control of the situation.
4. You know your dog's reaction to dogs, but you do not know the other dog's reaction. If safe, hold loose dog away from your dog.

You dog's tail tells you so much!

-The faster the wag, the more aroused
-Long, slow, side-to-side sweeps is relaxed
-Faster, twitch like is higher level of arousal , possibly negative, on guard
-Dogs tend to wag more to the right when they feel positive
-More to the left when negative
-Helicopter tail wag where tail spins in a circle is a happy wag
-Higher tail is more assertive
-Lower tail indicated stress or fear
-Tail held high like a flag is feeling confident, assertive, could become aggressive
-Relaxed dogs hold their tail in a neutral position (different breeds have a different neutral position.
