* PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO ** Fefe & Freddy are a special pair. They spent the last good chunk of their lives living outside and neglected – the conditions were horrible. Their mama was burdened by health conditions of her own and she couldn’t manage their care any longer. Thanks to a neighbor who noticed... the dogs have landed under wing of a few loving rescue volunteers and we’re hoping to find them a foster-to-adopt forever family.
Freddy has a wobbly walk, but he gets around and seems to love life. He joyously runs to you when you call him with happy tones. He is quite challenged, but it hasn’t broken his spirit. We think he got distemper as an adult (maybe 5-6 years ago) and survived, but it did bring neurological side effects ... he tilts a little left, he wobbles a little right, but he still gets around like a happy little boy. He’s about 12 years old.
Freddy’s gal pal, Fefe, is estimated at 8 years old. She’s not quite as trusting as her Freddy, but with happy high voices and small snacks, she’s learning to trust. She’s so precious ... pictures just don’t do her justice. Both of these babies have genuinely loving personalities – they’re full of sweetness and seem to have a quest for the love of people. Fefe so badly wants to trust and we’re looking for that person(s) who will be gentle and patient so she and Freddy can stay together, relax, and enjoy life.
Fefe has been a good eater... no ribs showing on this girl! She weighs around 12-13 pounds, has warm loving eyes and the cutest pink tongue that accents her smile. Freddy is a little low and long (also loves treats) – we’re guessing he’s maybe 14-15 pounds, beautiful brown eyes and a delightfully fluffy tail.
Full vetting is being done for both of them, including dentals. The process might take a month or two because we can only move forward based on their bloodwork results, and taking care of health issues that require attention.
If you’d like to be considered as their new family, please email [email protected] to request a foster-to-adopt application. Due to Freddy’s condition, they absolutely must have their own backyard and there must be some turf. They do get along nicely with other small dogs. Any children in the home should be at least 14 years old and of a kind, patient, respectful, and responsible nature
