It's alittle chilly out however the girls are tucked in and dry with plenty of food and water....Even with this cold snap the girls have decided to start laying! We are checking fertility and will be in touch!

We purchased this pair this past breeding season strictly to improve the feathers in our lavender Orpington line. Over time lavenders are known to have feather issues. To avoid this it is recommended to bred back to a black Orpington to make a split to be bred back to a lavender to improve your feather game. We have split our pens and will be waiting 4 weeks and start hatching splits to be put back into our breeding program for the up coming breeding season. ❤️🐔❤️

The hatching season has came to an end until next year....we are doing some remodeling and upgrading for the upcoming season.....We are also preparing some of our flock to be shown at our local 4H expo coming up in the next couple weeks..stay tuned....

Reality has set in.....the kid is starting to show intrest in chickens and wanting to show and grow our lines. That being said she has found a love for LF Cochins, Black Samatra, and Serama. This means mom has to sacrifice and downsize some of my lines to make room for others.

I have 7 growout black copper maran (stright run) that I was growing out for my breeding program. The original line came from a small iowa breeder that breeds to SOP and typically has nice quality show chickens. Typically 🥕70+ the group is up for discussion for 🥕50 must pickup in Hedrick, IA

I do have some growout english lavender Orpington and english black Orpington that I would consider parting with as well.

If your looking for hatching eggs we have those as well as we are taking a break from hatching to do some upgrades for the upcoming breeding season. We will start hatching again in November/December.
Hatching eggs available in limited quantities no older than 7 days and won't start collecting until requested. All lines are from small breeders that breed to SOP no hatchery quality.

He looks alittle rough but isn't he handsome?!? Shortly after getting here he decided he didn't like our lavender boy being next to him and got in the pen with him. We have since fixed the issue so it won't happen again. We are excited to add english black Orpingtons and to work on our feathers in our lavender line.

We will have hatching eggs upon request at a limited number weekly. If not spoken for each week on Thursday they will be going in the incubator.

We do not have a guaranteed hatch policy. We do guarantee that eggs your getting are less than 7 days old and have been stored point side down for best results.

Eggs will only be sold in 6 packs to ensure freshness

All our breeding stock has come from small breeders. Nothing from large scale hatcheries and breed to the breed standards for that breed.

We have a couple of breeding pens that have some slackers in them. Our girls have been laying for over 2 months now so it's time to figure out who's not laying. To do so we use gel food coloring inside the vents and around them so when the girls go to lay it smears onto the egg letting us know who's laying what. We will do this for the next 4 to 5 days to get a good picture to be able to make some decisions as to who needs to retire.
