I am beyond grateful for the friendship this lady provides me with. On one of the worst days imaginable when Ayyan’s soul left her body, this beautiful human quickly drove over to my house and was by my side to provide me with strength, love, and care. Thank you so much Katie for being my friend since 2009.

I appreciate all of my online friends and followers too for all of your kind words and support throughout these challenging times. May you all be Blessed!

At least 3-4x a week I provide the Chickens with a variety of fruits and veggies outside of their typical crumble and handfuls of fancy scratch. I cannot stop thinking about my girl Ayyan who was a foodie of a Chicken and would literally jump up on my lap and even sn**ch food out of my hands haha. There is such an empty feeling without her. I have been numbing myself just to get through without falling apart and crying all of the time. Seeing these precious ones enjoy their snacks warmed my heart. We all miss you Ayyan more than words can say.

I am way beyond heartbroken. I came home around 6:00pm and my entire world literally shattered into a bunch of tiny pieces. I love every single bird in my care, but Ayyan was my girl, she would jump right up onto my lap and climb up onto my shoulder and snuggle with me. She begged for treats and purred and was literally the light I always needed on the darkest of days. Just last night I picked her up and loved on her and apologized for being in and out so much due to trying to make as much money as possible to survive.

This morning I completed my morning routines and everyone appeared to be fine. I rushed out the door without even feeling the need for concern. I came home to find her on the floor leaving her cold body behind. I stood there staring at her in disbelief for about 5 minutes before letting out a roar that frightened all the other chickens. Thank you Katie for quickly driving over to come comfort me. I have absolutely no idea what happened and I just hope she left this world knowing she was so very much loved by me and her flock of friends. The pain and sadness I am feeling right now is so unbearable and I just want to scream because I am so angry that she is gone and I wasn’t here for her to help save her or to at least hold her and say goodbye. She was literally my best chicken friend and now she is gone. I am finding it difficult to breath and control the tears. My heart hurts so badly right now and there are just not enough words to truly express the amount of love I had for her.

I would love to have Ayyan and Maisie go through the aquamation process and then buy them a nice wooden box to hold their remains. If anyone is able and willing to help with this cost, I would greatly appreciate it otherwise they will need to remain wrapped in bags and boxes in my freezer for quite some time. The aqumation process is a minimum of $132 per animal and then about $30 for each memorial box so I would be greatly appreciative for any and all donations to help make this happen. Donations can be made via GoFundMe located on the Page as a Featured/Pinned Post at the top of the Page.

Two times a week I have been giving Calla a warm soak and trying to keep the area with the large growth as clean as possible. She doesn’t appear to be in any pain and has been eating, drinking, going to the bathroom, moving about, and snuggling with me. I would love to bring her to a poultry vet to see what is actually going on with her, but I have a feeling this is a cancerous growth and right now I am in absolutely no financial position to afford a $300-$1000 vet bill right now. It would cost $290 just for an emergency appointment just for a 15 minute consult and then depending on additional tests the price def goes way up. I busted my behind working for Uber last week just so I could scrape up enough for the way overdue oil change for my vehicle just so I can continue to drive and bring in whatever monies possible right now. I have another phone interview on Wednesday and another company reached out to me today as well. I am keeping my fingers crossed that something comes about and soon. Send Calla some healing vibes and prayers for me to have some good luck and soon haha.

So yesterday while I was on the Uber App and had completed a trip to the city of Chicago and then came back toward a somewhat familiar area, I decided to pull over because the App was glitching. I again had to shut my phone off and reset everything. This has been happening a lot lately, which is concerning because I lose out on potential rides (work). Anyway, it was best for me to take a break. I decided to go walk around this store since I had never noticed it before and well why not spend some time dreaming haha. Of course I noticed the children’s play house and my first thought was, “Whoa my Chickens would love this!” LOL. Then I pictured myself and a friend swinging in the loungers watching all the animals running around outside on the land I don’t and will probably never own. I imagined being in a whirlpool bath after a day of hard work at the Sanctuary that I don’t and probably will never own. A woman can dream can’t she and well when I dream I like to dream big haha.

This is exactly how I am feeling these days. Ever since I began driving for Uber on Tuesday, April 8th I have not taken a day off. I am typically out driving anywhere from 4-6 hours a day. That may not sound like a lot to some, but that is already a lot of wear and tear on my dream vehicle that I got back in 2021 and honestly the cost of maintenance is insane. Most people don’t tip, not even a darn dollar even for a $4 ride. Also Uber loves to try and send us 10 miles in another direction for a 20+ minute drive for sometimes less than $10. Seriously so ridiculous! I often ignore or reject those rides and take a hit for it. The amount of money I am making varies and the surges are sporadic. As for my actual job as a LBA/BCBA, I am still waiting for the credentialling process to finish and for the companies I have signed agreements with to get clients lined up and get me started. Those agreements started on April 1st and usually take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to begin. I am beyond stressed to say the least.

What do you all do to help with Burn-Out and trying to reduce it? Your engagement is appreciated and so very helpful to the as well as perhaps providing some tips to others who may very well benefit. Some times while I am out when it goes silent on the Uber App, I will find somewhere to go for a 10-15 minute walk and just take in the natural sounds around me and do some deep breathing and perhaps stretch out the stress haha.

As someone who has been learning and growing in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2010, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) since May 2017, and a Licensed Behavioral Analyst (LBA) in IL since March 2025, the false information that he is spewing is shocking. He knows absolutely nothing and yet behaves in ways as if he knows it all. Sounds so familiar considering that seems to be how this entire Administration does business. Outside of Caring for Pigeons, Doves, and Chickens, I am also incredibly passionate about working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and working with their families. Just hearing him on TV really tends to make my blood boil. Genuine research and longitudinal studies must be completed in order to pinpoint any cause for anything, not just assumptions or guesses. I am interested in knowing what environmental factors are causing so much human stupidity, how about we focus on that and try to change that? Also, Autism is NOT a disease. Why would anyone vote for him, vote for this, vote for individuals who have no freaking clue what they are doing in their positions? Every day is just so disappointing. Okay done with the rant and gonna focus on what I can do to make things better for myself, my situation, and those who continue to help take care of the Birds through engagement online via commenting on posts/reels; donations; and purchasing items on the Amazon List. We appreciate all of you! Have a Most Wonderful Day and Stay Coo!

STOP USING GLUE TRAPS Folks! There are much more humane ways to deter those animals/critters you are so bothered by. Sadly us humans complain about so much even after we’ve taken and continue to take up so much of the outdoors that belongs to them too. We tend to behave like we are entitled to whatever the heck it is we want. So much that we want is NOT even needed/necessary.

PLEASE quit using glue traps! They're a cruel death for anything they snag, whether intended or not. This cardinal didn't survive the efforts to free it.

Olive oil, cooking oil, flour and corn starch all help to loosen them from the glue.

Glue traps should be illegal.

Last night I was so incredibly tired upon arriving home and I just have not been sleeping very well. I was up and down several times throughout the night. Anyway, around 6am I could hear all the various bird noises throughout the house and knew that they all wanted to have their lights on. I drug myself up out of bed and quickly began turning on lights and then went back into my room and hopped back into bed. I was hoping to fall back asleep for at least a couple more hours. Anyway, Calla who has been in Chicken Therapy and hanging out in my Bedroom decided she wanted some snuggle time with me. Usually I have to gently pick her up and bring her to me, but nope, not this morning, She literally scrambled over and jumped up onto my chest/stomach and then loafed there. I gave her so many pets and kisses and she returned them with some little beakies and smacks on me. My heart literally melted. I feel so blessed to be appreciated by so many of the birds in my care. I love and adore them all.

This is Cinnamon who is a Tangerine Ringneck Dove. She was with a small flock of 3 others who had been brought into a pet store and dumped by some very inconsiderate individuals. I had received a call from another rescue about this delicate situation. The manager of the pet store was able to capture the flock of 4 and brought them to a shelter. The shelter doesn’t keep birds so they had contacted a bird rescue who then contacted me. I went to the shelter right away and picked them up. All 4 of them were so incredibly scared and it took me months to even begin to earn their trust. I eventually had to separate the four of them since they were two bonded pairs and they were fighting. The one pair I had named Carmel and Rocco had become more friendly and tame and were then adopted out. Those two were renamed to Peace & Harmony, but then 2 years later needed to be rehomed and came back to SCC, LLC. I kept Cinammon and her mate (he passed away years ago due to severe respiratory infections that just kept returning). Cinammon then bonded with another female who was born with a handicap due to a crooked wing bone. Cinammon is also bonded to me and will fly over to me and hang out with me, she will sit on my hand and she allows me to give her gentle kisses and scritches.

My precious white ringneck dove Gracie, whom I absolutely adore. Today she got in some good flight time while I was cleaning her cage. I actually kicked her out of her house haha, I just picked her up and placed her outside of her cage so she would go fly around for a bit. Of course once I was done with the house cleaning and provided her and her hubby with a fresh meal and water she was quick to return home haha.

Hello all you Beautiful Humans! I’ve had some crazy busy days with catching up on cleaning for all of the Birds and still trying to get in some drive time with Uber. I cleaned up the Pigeon Room on Monday and it looks like I didn’t do anything at all ugh. I scraped, swept, and vacuumed. I need some really good non-toxic floor and board cleaner that will possibly remove some of the nasty stains. I can scrub like crazy and once everything dries it doesn’t look any different. Anyway, the Pidgies are definitely enjoying their organic romaine lettuce using the 4-hole Lettuce Holder, which can be purchased @ Sandy’s Pigeon Service. Cynthia Harris also sells a lot of other items for and and proceeds go to helping others with building aviaries for those who are interested in having a flock of Pidgies/Doves of their own. My pidgies love the following greens: Romaine Lettuce, Crispy Green Leaf Lettuce, Crispy Red Leaf Lettuce, and Iceberg Lettuce.

Cleaned the Pidgie Room today and set these precious feathered friends up for some cool baths. I stood there for a few minutes watching them and my heart just melted. I may not be able to give them the very best of every thing, but I give them the very best love and care I have to offer. I will work myself to the bone and beg and plead for donations, just to be able to continue to love and care for them all the best that I possibly can.

I am across the house, seriously way on the other side, and have the TV on and can hear them Cooing like crazy. That is how I can tell they are incredibly excited, the intensity of their Cooing.

If anyone is interested or knows someone who may be interested in adopting a bonded couple or even a flock of 12 mostly all white pidgies please let me know. I am currently Fostering them and they would love a Forever Loving & Caring home.

Also Donations no matter the amount and Items from the amazon List are always greatly appreciated.

Just a small splurge on myself. I have been wanting to try all of these for quite some time, but they are not cheap that is for sure, however Jewel had the Vegan Morning Star Farms Pancake & Sausage on a Stick on sale for $4.00 less than they typically cost and this was the last box available so I sn**ched em up. Then I went to Whole Foods to use the restroom and grab a couple snacks as a treat for myself and decided to try these two flavors of VegoBears and can understand why these are so pricey too. All of these are so incredibly yummy! I have been using a small portion of cash tips I get from Uber Riders for the small splurges like this. Those of you who are and , if you have not tried these, you should consider doing so, Wowza!

Look at this little cutie! Loves sitting on Feggs! This gorgeous male Tangerine Ringneck Dove is bonded with another Male who is a Tangerine colored Tufted Silkie Dove. Both of them are incredibly sweet! I was cleaning their room yesterday and happened to come upon a sweet moment I wanted to capture and share with everyone.

Laura Schofield They both got lots of gentle pets and kisses too yesterday.

Yay the Pidgie’s all-time favorite feed arrived. I opened everything up and mixed up all the feed yesterday and the Pidgies went nuts when I fed them. Thanks again Laura Schofield for the donation in order to make this possible and to help with reducing some of my stress. The Birds and I appreciate any and all . When followers the funds are used for all items necessary for the birds. I don’t use funds on myself. Donations help so when I do make some money from Uber, I can use it for my house payment, utilities, my vehicle note, vehicle insurance, etc. all the other important bills that keep a roof over our heads. I went grocery shopping too the other day and bought 2 heads of Romaine Lettuce for the Pidgies, 2 containers of Blueberries for the Chickens, 4 nicely sized Beefsteak Tomatoes for the Chickens , a bunch of Bananas for the Chickens too. I will be making a run to the Feed Store later this week to grab two 50lb bags of Chicken Crumble and one 50lb bag of Scratch.

END OF THE WEEK UPDATES:

There is a lot to unpack here haha. has been crazy for me. I am trying to figure out a variety of things in order to make this work because right now I am literally because the bills are piling up. My vehicle is overdue for Maintenance, which will cost $600 - 1000 on the low end, YIKES! Yesterday was the busiest day so far and I put on at least 220 miles on my beast. I was in and out of my house though at least 4x before calling it a night. The 3rd time I stopped in at home I just about began to panic as I noticed blood and all throughout my living room, on the chicken’s sleeping areas, and on my personal lounging chair. My first thought was Polly and another Prolapse that perhaps the others were pecking at. Okay my eyes made contact with Polly’s rear and nothing, shwew! Okay now to seek out the hen or rooster that the blood is coming from. My baked potato Luna had a broken foot feather. I was able to clean her foot and control the bleeding with some Kwik Quit powder, then placed a cottton ball over that, and gently wrapped with vet wrap. I think her nail or feather caught on the table mat I had sitting on their sleeping area so I removed those. I will be cleaning up the furniture and placing the p*e p*e pads on the console where the birds tend to go to nap and sleep at night.

Every time I come home throughout the day, I check on the birds and do things for them like make them some scrambled eggs. I also chop and cut up fruit and veggies too.

I am thinking Mondays and Tuesdays or Wednesdays will become my cleaning days for now.

I was cleaning on the weekends, but Uber is super busy on those days and I need the money so badly that I have to be as flexible as possible.

I find that this feed has turned out to be an all-time favorite of all the Pidgies and they tend to leave very little to waste. It is definitely more expensive than the DesMoines 50lb bags I have been getting, but again there is little left to waste and I am also not having to purchase a bunch of additional items to add in to this feed as it comes with so much that I am having to buy and add to the DesMoines feed. I have an upcoming order for a bag of each totaling around $90 for the order. I am so incredibly tight on funds right now and nothing with Uber is a guarantee. I am using everything I am making for all the little bills I am behind on right now, bottled water, food, and more fuel so I can keep working for Uber. If anyone is willing and able to help, we would greatly appreciate this. I have added Chew Gift cards to our Amazon List. If you would like to purchase a bag of feed and just want to have an item drop shipped to us, please reach out with a Direct Message and I can share an address with you.

Any and all donations are greatly appreciated.
