This is a FT job outside of my FT Career. I will always choose their needs over any wants of mine. I will always place them first.

Update: It took me exactly one hour to transfer 38 Pigeons from their free-flying room to the Foyer, where they will remain for 24 hours. It probably would not have taken that long if I didn’t need to pet and kiss most of them haha. Tomorrow I am planning on spending the entire day working on scrubbing their room, moving the old furniture that needs to be thrown out (over 5 years old) and just about everything replaced. Their room is finally getting a make-over thanks to the very generous donation from Ashley Wickham AKA Seeley's Mom who went above and beyond to help with providing for the birds. Without her donation, I wouldn’t have been able to buy a ton of items needed for the Pigeon Room, part of the Chicken Community, and a few things for the Living Room. The Pigeon Room has been in desperate need of some new furniture (Shelving units/Closet type units), new turf, some items for enrichment and foraging, etc. Some of the current furniture came from the previous place we were living. There is only so much cleaning and scrubbing that can be done and after a while they just need new things. I also needed the type of shelving units that would be easy to wipe clean and Ollie’s always has everything at such bargain prices that I was able to get a majority of what was needed from there. I did order a few fake flowers and plants for enrichment from Amazon and a new table cloth to cover some of the shelves. I am beyond excited to get this done for all of them and then share some pics and videos. Thank you again so very much Ashley for everything!

So I made a video and was going to post it because I wanted it to be specifically for only those who are following my page to view. However, Facebook has a new feature and they have decided that your videos are automatically going to be made into reels for everyone to see. Facebook, I’m not very happy about that. So now the video that I specifically made, I am not going to share, and I will have to wait until I am completed with the Pigeon Room project and share everything in pictures and one small video that I don’t mind being turned into a Reel for the general public to see.

This past week was probably one of the most emotionally painful ones for me. Ever since January 20, 2025, a lot has been happening especially here in the United States, which I personally feel has become very UN-American. I am a very compassionate person and that extends beyond my race and skin color. I have a very difficult time with individuals who exhibit thoughts and feelings that promote their engagement in racist behaviors. I try to remain as neutral as possible when I come across individuals who I know have opposing view points, but there comes a time when their lack of control and their rage and hate that they spew in a conversation will get to me. That type of conversation will go from neutral to heated in a matter of minutes and that type of conversation will stick with me throughout the rest of the day and into the night and often for many days after. I cannot have that sort of toxicity in my life and I will not continue to allow that to seep into my life no matter who you are. If you feel that you are above those who are not just like you and you are okay with saying and behaving in ways that promote racism and white supremacy then you are most definitely welcome to Stop Liking and Stop Following this Page as that is defintiely not something I stand for and definitely not something I will ever encourage.

Chill time with my girl Gracie. She is the only Dove who will lift her wings so I can pet and kiss her under her wings. She is the only Dove who also purrs like a cat. She always melts my heart.

I also want to add to this piece below, that no human ever needs to “Exploit” Pigeons either. Treat them with the respect you would want another sentient-being to treat you with. I absolutely adore all of the Pigeons in my care and they all come with their own life story. Some of my Pigeons enjoy human contact and others behave like a human is the worst being on earth and maybe that is because there are so many humans who do behave horribly. When people say that they are dirty, those people never stop to think about how dirty they are. Humans as a whole are the dirtiest beings out there. Anyway, if you come across a Pigeon in need please be sure to locate a Pigeon Rescue or Rehab Group who can assist.

Most people don’t realize just how incredible pigeons truly are.
These gentle birds aren’t just loyal partners—they’re brilliant, complex beings. Tucked inside their beaks are tiny magnetic crystals, which act like nature’s GPS. With them, pigeons can sense the Earth’s magnetic field and travel thousands of miles with stunning precision. They can also hear frequencies too low for us to detect and read polarized light patterns in the sky—like seeing a secret code hidden in daylight.
Their intelligence is no small thing either. Studies have shown that pigeons can count, recognize their own reflections, understand abstract ideas, and even grasp probability—sometimes outperforming young children in cognitive tests. While we see just three colors, pigeons see four, including ultraviolet. That means they see vivid patterns on each other’s feathers that are completely invisible to us.
When raising their young, pigeons produce a special milk-like substance in their throats to nourish their chicks—something they share with doves, flamingos, and emperor penguins. And in flight? These birds can cruise at over 60 mph for long stretches.
They also form lifelong bonds with their mates. But just like us, environmental stress can affect their relationships. Their communication is equally layered—they use different coos and calls for danger, love, and territory, and they can recognize the unique voice of a familiar bird even from far away.
History has seen their courage too. During wartime, a pigeon named Cher Ami delivered a message that saved 194 soldiers—even after losing a leg.
Sadly, despite all this, we’ve forgotten our connection to them. Pigeons were once our companions, messengers, and helpers—but many were abandoned when we no longer “needed” them. They stayed close to humans in cities, because that’s what they knew.
They don’t need much—some oats, bird seed, clean water. But what they deserve is empathy, not disdain.
Pigeons are not pests. They are intelligent, emotional, deeply social beings. They remember us. It’s time we remember them. See less

This has been my day so far. Top 2 pics are from getting another huge load of pet dishes washed by hand this morning. The two bottom pics on the Left and Middle are of my mattress protector that is absolutely disgusting. This is after using my bed as a Therapy bed for the injured and ill Birds and even after washing, it is just so damn gross. I finally removed it and threw it in the garbage and bought a cheap one on Amazon. Now I am at the laundromat, which is going to cost close to $80 because I have 5 of these large washers going and a small one and the drying isn’t cheap either. I am already frustrated because I got another client who cancelled mid-day yesterday so there went 2 hours off my schedule this week. Hey can someone send me a miracle, like a whole new bleeping Life would ya cause this one really really stinks lately haha.

and I could really use all forms of help lately just so I can keep it together and not lose my mind, not lose my house, not lose my vehicle. I just had to pay out another $340 last night in order to keep my cell phone and Internet on, which I cannot go without due to both of my current jobs. Any type of Donation small or big and anywhere inbetween too helps a ton right now. I was almost out of laundry detergent and a few other personal items I could not go without and even knowing that I had to have them, just spending the money on those things stressed me out. I also just bought the Conures a few food items too. I am gonna go out later tonight and do Uber to see if I can at least make $100.

Every so often I have to also purchase a ton of cleaning supplies and go through a lot of trash liners, sponges, dish soap, etc. just to keep up with all the cleaning for the Bird Rooms and Chicken Community.

Absolutely! I cry when I am in a position and can’t spend much time with the animals in my care because even though I do give them plenty I always want to give them more.

Surrendering your bunny because they’re “not getting enough attention”?

That’s not responsible. That’s lame.

We get it - life gets busy. Jobs, kids, moves, new relationships.

But here’s the truth: your bunny doesn’t want a shelter. They don’t want strangers. They don’t want to sit in a cage, confused about why the only home they’ve ever known vanished. They want YOU.

If your rabbit isn’t getting enough time, alter your schedule. Wake up earlier. Put down the phone. Skip the extra Netflix episode.

Bunnies don’t need hours of constant interaction - they need consistency, care, and enrichment. Even 30 intentional minutes a day is worlds better than uprooting them.

We can’t say this enough: shelters are a last resort for emergency situations, not a convenient drop-off for when life gets “too busy.”

Every single rabbit we take in costs money, time, and space we don’t have. And every single rabbit is a living, feeling being who’s terrified when their life is ripped away.

Your bunny would rather stay with you than end up at a rescue. Please don’t make us their backup plan. Step up. Adjust. Do right by the animal who depends on you.

Came home to a surprise box of goodies for all of the Birds thanks to Judy Eileen. Thank you so very much from me and the flocks. The safflower is always a favorite and the sunflower hearts and chips are a special treat that I will definitely give in small portions. I look forward to sharing some of those yummy treats and taking some videos too.

Rhonda Weiss and anyone else who may be interested in a Pigeon Feed that I highly recommend. This probably will only be helpful for those with mid size flocks of at least 10+ Pidgies. I use to buy DesMoines Maintenance Feed 50lb bags and then I would buy a variety of lentils (red, yellow, brown), split peas, and mung beans, etc. This brand includes all of that and more and even though they only sell this in 40lb bags versus 50lb bags, this is literally a little cheaper and the Pidgies absolutely love it and eat up everything.

Watch for the little tippy tappies with her feet on the pillows. I missed taking a video when she was doing that with the blanket, but the pillows were just as cute. Cinnamon is defintiely loving her out of cage time and being able to explore the Bedroom.

This arrived yesterday and boy was I happy to see the FedEx truck pull up, mostly because the Pidgies were going to be needing food today. Usually when I place the order it goes out the very next day, but for some reason it took an extra day this time. Anyway, all the Pidgies have been fed and are so grateful for those who donated making this possible. Chewy is the only place I can find this brand of Pigeon Feed and this feed has everything they need and so much more. I no longer have to buy lentils, split peas, mung beans, etc. to add into their feed because this brand and mix has all of that and more.

Gracie is one of the most special and sweetest Doves in my care. When she comes to me for attention she will literally lift her wing up by my face so I can plant kisses all over her on her body and under her wing and then she will go by my ear and purr like a cat. Gacie has been with me for just over 4 years now. She was a single dove prior to coming into my care and was just under 8 years old. Now almost 12 years of age she is probably considered a Middle-Age or older Dove. She married about 3 months after coming to SCC, LLC and absolutely adores her husbird Zane. She is incredibly protective of him too. Gracie has definitely been enjoying her out of cage time and exploring the Bedroom.

Cinnamon is a naughty girl, she literally flew out of her cage onto my bed right by me only to let out a giant turd and then fly away back into her cage. The nerve of her haha. She and her wife Rumy are currently sitting on 2 clutches of eggs so this is her nesty p**p and the reason why it is so huge for a Dove. Rumy has taken over the duty of sitting on the eggs so Cinnamon is now eating some yummy seeds. Cinnamon has been in my care for over 4 years and lost her original mate a few years ago and then bonded quickly with another female dove and they have been inseperable since. Cinammon is very sweet and will ocassionally fly to me and sit on my head or shoulder. She just went for a couple laps around my room and is now back on the bed just hanging out.
