2024 Highlights ✨

We’re excited to shine a spotlight on Kentigern Octavo, who set out with a goal last year to make it onto the national ranking list—and he didn’t just make it, he earned 1st place in V5!

The USIHC National Ranking is a points-based system that ranks riders in different Icelandic horse competition classes across the United States. It is managed by the United States Icelandic Horse Congress (USIHC) and includes results from sanctioned competitions throughout the year.

Riders earn points based on their performance in various disciplines, such as tölt, four-gait, and five-gait tests, and are ranked accordingly. The rankings help track competitive progress, recognize top riders, and provide a benchmark for those striving to improve.

Achieving 1st place in a ranking class, like V5, means consistently strong performances across competitions—an impressive accomplishment!

With his talented mare and , Kentigern’s hard work and dedication truly paid off. We couldn’t be prouder of his accomplishments and the partnership he’s built with these amazing horses.

🎉 Four months ago, we celebrated a very special day for our incredible intern, Lucas! For his birthday, we teamed up with his amazing parents and to give him the surprise of a lifetime—his first horse! 🐴

Meet Vàldis from Seliana, a stunning 2-year-old filly out of Rak frá Syðra-Landholti and Vaskur frá Kagaðarholi. With all five gaits and a personality that melts hearts, Vàldis is already showing so much promise. 🌟

A heartfelt thank you to the amazing breeders who made this possible. Your dedication and expertise helped us find the perfect match for Lucas, and we are so grateful! 🙏

Lucas has been part of our team for three years, and his passion, hard work, and love for horses inspire us every day. We couldn’t think of anyone more deserving. 💛 Here’s to many adventures and achievements ahead for Lucas and Vàldis!

✨ Big congratulations to Jane Coleman on finding her perfect riding partner, Ljufur from Tolt Heaven! ✨

Ljúfur first caught Jane’s eye back in August when he arrived at Thorlak to work as a lesson horse—let’s just say it was love at first ride! 🐴❤️ These two have quickly become a dynamic duo, constantly pushing each other to grow and shine.

Last month, Jane and Ljúfur took on their first-ever show together and made an incredible debut! 🎉 They placed 1st in Three-Gait and 2nd in Pleasure Tölt during the preliminaries. While the finals brought some challenges, we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and teamwork. 💪

We’re so excited to see what amazing things Jane and Ljúfur will achieve together in the years to come. Here’s to many more milestones for this incredible pair! 🌟👏

Last Saturday we hosted a fun day full of drill team and horses for our students! Though it was a windy day, we still enjoyed ourselves immensely. So proud of how all the riders and horses worked together to perfect each drill. It was so much fun and we are excited to continue this throughout the rest of the year!
