Toby always pulls me over to the cafe at Squirrel Park when we walk past it....today he enjoyed a bit of people watching and just chilling for 5 minutes before finishing off his walk 🥰🐶🐕‍🦺

Heres my old man Raffey doing amazingly despite his old age and his recent illness....he gave me quite the scare 4 weeks ago when I had to rush him to the out of hours vets with sudden onset of Ataxia (disorder affecting co-ordination/balance)

At the appointment he presented with neurological symptoms and ataxia, wondering if this was the day I had to say goodbye! I decided to trial him on a new medication and did a lot of research the following 24 hours into his condition to figure out what the right and kindest decision may be for him. Researching the possible causes of his Illness and if he was likely to recover from it.

I also had my amazing vet team at work check him over the following day who gave him some added drugs whilst hospitalised and we started to see an improvement, we wanted to trial treatment for arthritis aswell to see if this made a difference, so we started him on Solensia, a monthly injection to treat Osteoarthritis, he also had some acupuncture and steroids.
Within 24-48 hours he was back to his normal self, the Ataxia had completely resolved and he's responded to his meds amazingly, takes them so well from my hand or in his lick-e-lix treats 👏🏼
He's now on his 2nd month of his Solensia injection and it's made a 100% improvement into his mobility! And the best part is, it's a completely safe drug to give your pets! It doesn't metabolise through the liver or affect the Kidneys as non steroidals do, no need for repeat blood tests to check liver/kidney functions.
I highly recommend anyone who's cats/dogs are 7+ years and becoming a bit slower, less active and stiff to have a chat to your vet about Solensia/Librela!

One of my favourite places for a stroll....

Milo and I went for a lovely wander last weekend....
We filled up our water bottles and went for a relaxed stroll at Milos pace, with lots of hydrating pit stops for him 🥰🐶🐾

A little too warm for Tobys walk this afternoon so we stayed and played in his garden...fetched out his paddling pool from the shed and enjoyed a game of catch with a rather large portion of treats instead 😅

As much as I would like to accommodate everyone that gets in touch....I am fully booked for May, June, July and August for welfare checks 🐾

I have dates taken throughout September to November so far.... with some availability still

I want to thank everyone who has chosen and trusted in myself to care for all of your pets while you are away on holiday! I've loved seeing regular faces and getting to know new customers this year so far 🐈‍⬛🐕🐇😊🥰

I am still available for appointments in the evenings of Mon/Tues and Friday and
All day Wednesdays/Thursdays and weekends for a**l glands, nail clippings in the comfort of your own home 🏡

His precious face 🥹🫶🏼🩷
Our little old man Coco AKA 'Mr Pops', 'Popsy' 'Cocopops' is 14 already and it seems like only yesterday we picked him up at 6 months old!

Despite his heart murmur that hes currently under treatment for, hes still going strong and very much still thinks hes a pup. I could squish him hes that cute!

Have any of your pets been diagnosed with a heart murmur and the cause of it...but you dont really understand or know much about the condition?

As a previous cardiology referral nurse i can help to answer any questions, tips on how to monitor your pets condition and understand more about the cause of the murmur if its been diagnosed already by your vet.
I have helped a few clients in practice to feel less confused and understand their pets diagnosis by discussing what is happening with their pets heart disease, why it happens and how to monitor for critical changes.
I even wrote my own client based cardiology notebook for anyone that needs to visually see diagrams to understand what their pets diagnosis means, which i noticed made a big difference for a lot of people.

Who looks happy he didn't need to go the vets for a nail trim?

Benji gets super nervous going to the vets and leads him to a day of anxiety

In some cases going to the vets is unavoidable but luckily I can offer home visits for quick nail trims

We started off fussing benji and giving him endless amounts of treats!
We managed to distract benji with the treats and trimmed his nails without any signs of anxiety or fear! He was super happy and bouncy and even did a happy zoomie run around the front garden when I was leaving 🤣

Today I attended the funeral of a lady that was my mentor, teacher, and friend from day one of my vet nursing journey 12 years ago.
A shock to myself and the team at the practice we all worked together at.

I wouldnt be where i am now in my career without this lady, she taught me so much, guided me and supported me throughout my training as my clinical coach.
I've always been truly grateful for the opportunity I was given to finally start my dream job. I know I expressed my gratitude to you on my last day working together but i hope you knew that this has never left and I feel truly lucky i was able to learn from you.
The infectious laugh and the love we shared for cats, everything you taught and coached me I will continue on in your memory ❤️
