I just wanted to share something vulnerable and real with you guys.

Emma the Dilemma, who's notorious for climbing and jumping all things including gates, tables and beds, has been having an incredibly difficult last few days.

The other day she suddenly could not move her back legs at all. She could not walk or go to the restroom by herself.

After staying up with her ALL night with her shaking and whining and crying, (me praying and crying some more), we very quickly realized that she needed emergency medical attention that was far beyond our scope of practice and knowledge. 🏥

We rushed her the following morning immediately to her normal vet doctor at Essential Vet Clinic in Bastrop for an Emergency consult.

The vet recommended that she go in for emergency surgery just as soon as possible to prevent any further injury or damage to her spinal cord.

We learned later that day that she had suddenly lost sensation and mobility to her lower back and hindquarters due to an intrusion in the middle of her spine near the T-12 & T-13 areas.

After multiple phone calls, professional & medical consults, assessments and recommendations, I drove her all the way out to A & M Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital in Bryan, Texas.

Then after a full work up and very thorough medical assessment, an MRI and a CT scan, Emma went right into surgery last night to correct the issues and alleviate the compression in her spine.

One very challenging and heart breaking aspect of the breed is the spine and lower back areas and the dreadful IVDD disc disease.

This breed is vulnerable to lower back & spine injuries in general.

(IVDD) as you probably already know is a common cause of back pain in dogs that occurs when the discs between the vertebrae harden and compress the spine.
It can be hereditary which we are protected against genetically, but can also can be brought on due to excess weight or injury as in her case.

Emma the Dilemma has continued to be extremely brave and her fearless little self, even through the pain and difficulties these past few days. 🙏

She is staying Super strong and hanging in there like a little Champ.

We really appreciate all the thoughts and prayers coming our way.
That really does mean so much. 🥰

This morning we got a call from the surgeon letting us know she had came out of surgery doing well.

There's already feeling & slight sensation in her back which was amazing as it normally takes days for that to return.

We are staying hopeful, optimistic and in constant prayer and gratitude.
Keeping a grateful heart and encouraging words are very much appreciated.

I wouldn't be human without saying how much we miss her terribly and how our hearts have been broken and hurting for these past few days while we've been going through this and especially while watching her be in so much pain. 😢

And a deep heartfelt morning to all of us that have fur babies that love to jump on things and also things and that live to launch also things like mighty dog. 🐾

There are serious consequences for these actions and please please make sure that you make all precautions such as using stairs and ramps in every area of the house or back yard that you possibly can in order to ensure the safety and wellness of your loved one. 🐾

So that way hopefully this type of devastating thing doesn't ever happen to you or your furry baby. 🙏

Sweet little baby girl Lucy Skye, she is still looking for her new furever loving home. 🐾 🏠🐾🌭🐾

She has beautiful brown eyes with little dark blue spots in it, and hence her name Lucy from the John Lennon song.

She is super loving and gentle. 🥰
And she loves loves to play, bonding like a little bunny rabbit, is curious and funny to watch. And at times the instigator and she's quite the adorable sleeper when she naps hard too. ♥️

I think this is probably one of my personal old favorites of Griffin around the seasonal Halloweenie time. 🐾🌭🎃👻🐾

The other one is where he wore that Tina Turner wig, which he absolutely hated but he looked freakishly adorable! 🥰

Having a senior dog is quite endearing, heart melting, challenging and heart strengthening all at the same time.

As they age and depend on you more and more, well you realize the fragility of life and really begin to cherish the precious time you have left with them. 🐾💞🌭🙏🐾

We are taking extra care to make sure that Griffin ages gracefully with great health by focusing on his nutrition (homemade food) And of course all the supplements too. ;)

We want to make sure that he is here with us and with quality of life and great health for just as long as possible and God is willing! 💗

After about a week of radio silence and shaking up the whole household a bit,... I just wanted to warmly welcome our two new sweet little additions to the Glorious Minis family.

Introducing sweetheart little Midnight Autumn and her brother Shadow Reign. 🐾 🐶

I traveled out of state last weekend on an exhausting trip to meet them. And boy let me tell you it was well worth the wait and the time, energy and everything else. 🙏

They are both so precious (and both quite tiny too!) My heart literally almost exploded in my chest with love and gratitude on the flight back home. ✈️

Little Shadow is a timid, gentle and shy little boy, and his sister Midnight "Midi" is quite the opposite. She's a pretty sassy, bold, gregarious little girl. 🥰 It was love at first sight (and first lick). 👅

They are both coming out of there their sweet little shells slowly and acclamating to our very close-knit pack quite nicely.
We're all genuinely soooo grateful and beyond blessed to have these two new little one as additions to our family. 🙏 Thank you guys for all the kind messages and thoughtful prayers.

I just wanted to wish a very happy birthday to my amazing, sweet, loving and beautiful baby girl Glory!!

Seven years ago (yesterday) You were born and you have brought soooo much love and joy into my life and into our Glorious Minis family. 🎂

I always say that you were and still are the absolute "perfect puppy" and my dream girl.

You are so patient, loving, and beautiful inside and out. And the way you love your walkies and playing in the grass, and caring for and loving your puppies and grand puppies.
You teach me how to be a better person every single day.
You really are simply the best dog that one could hope or pray for.

We just got so lucky and blessed by striking gold with you. 🌈 🪙

Glory, I look into your eyes and I just see nothing but sweetness, gentleness, and pure love and joy.
Thank you for bringing so much happiness and laughter into my life.

Lots of giggles, Thank you for keeping me laughing, even through the tears.

Early mornings with little puppy monsters in the kitchen! 😆🍠 Little Tyler D. has just discovered sweet potatoes and carrots in the pantry.
I don't think he chews on them necessarily to eat them, he simply likes all the attention from his destruction! 😅 .. And then little Klio the kilo, with the adorable gray spot on top of her head. Scampering around like a little white chipmunk with her chocolate dapple sister. She has my heart. ❤️

Making a doggy birthday cake today for Prince Charming's tomorrow. 🎂 I can't believe he's already 3 years old!! 🙏
