Harvesting Pea shoots and Nasturtium micros for todays CSA pickup!
Pea shoots are delightful and mildly sweet, and nasturtiums are pretty and peppery. I eat pea shoots raw and by themselves as a lil snack, but both are good on salads 🧑🏼‍🌾

Hey all! Our first CSA pick up of the year is this week!
It’s not to late to sign up ✨ if you sign up via our square site or the interest form by Tuesday this week, you can still be a full season or spring season member! Membership registration for summer is open until June 19, and registration for fall closes on august 21.

CSA week is the time of year when the majority of farmers have CSAs open and are trying to fill them, myself included. Having a CSA full by the end of February helps farmers purchase tools, compost, w**d fabric, irrigation systems, etc at the beginning of the season by giving us cash flow before market season starts.
As a CSA member at Rooted Arcadia, you will get a basket of fresh, beautiful, locally grown heirloom produce every week. Our baskets would be $25/ea if produce was purchased separately at the market, but CSA members would get the same amount for $17/week. Additionally, CSA members will have the opportunity to compost with us (more details if you sign up).

CSA Time yall! Let us grow veggies for you!
When you sign up for the Rooted Arcadia CSA, you get 20 weeks of fresh and local produce. Our boxes will consist of all the freshest in season veggies, mushrooms, flowers, herbs, and foraged items, along with weekly recipes that show you how to use your new produce! Our food is grown using no sprays or unnatural fertilizers, and only human powered machines (little to no fossil fuels used here). We do our best to grow heirloom and non GMO vegetables, meaning you will be receiving veggies that will look different than what you are used to seeing at the grocery store (yellow and pink striped tomatoes, anyone?).
In addition to all this, CSA members are free to bring their compost to their pick up site free of charge!
We have pick up locations in Martinsville (our farm) and Indianapolis ( ), with possible pick up at certain farmers markets around town (TBD).

Ayyyyeee we got a micro loan funded! This means we can purchase a caterpillar tunnel for season extension and for a better tomato set up! Super stoked to get serious and scale up this season in order to offer our community the best produce YEAR ROUND 💕✨

Hey all! Please considering contributing to our Kiva loan so that we can scale up! If we get this loan, we can build a caterpillar tunnel and a walk in, which will make it so much easier for us to offer fresh produce to you all year long!

A loan of $5,500 helps an LGBT-owned business hire an employee and scale up their small farm.

UPDATE: after a chat with a friend, I have decided to offer a smaller and lower priced option for the Garden Start CSA, as well as a location in Broad Ripple for pick up. I believe that these two changes will make this program more accessible to folks that want to try gardening without making a huge financial commitment. Changes are reflected on the form at the link in our bio, and if you have already signed up, you can for sure email me if you would rather pick up at the other location or purchase the smaller share.
I’m really really excited for this program, and hope to have many members! I am super passionate about teaching people how to grow their own food and love being a part of that journey.

Dreaming of summer and having a full and beautiful garden? So am I ✨
I would be honored to be part of fulfilling that dream! This is why we are offering a Garden Start monthly CSA. Starting the last week of March, members can come to the farm and pick seed packs, 6-packs (the sections pictured here), 2 in or 4 in pots of plants that are ready to go in the ground. We will start the seeds, harden the seedlings off, then send them home with you with some basic planting instructions! Members can mix and match and will get a minimum of 12 items a month (a 6-pack counts as 1 item). Interested? Sign up in the link in our bio! Have questions? Shoot us an email or DM and I’d be happy to answer those for you! Spots are limited, and we are starting seedlings as early as this week, so don’t delay in signing up! When I decided to start my own farm project in 2020, I raised funds by offering garden these garden starter kits. They included a certain number of starts, seeds, soil, and instructions so folks could start their own lil gardens at home. This year, I have plans to build off of this and scale it up a little with a garden starter CSA. With this new program, members will come to the farm once a month to select starts and seeds that are ready to be planted. It will be a 6 month program, and we will take you through a 3 season garden month by month with our starts. Stay tuned for more info, and a membership application this Friday!

✨🌻 It’s CSA time y’all! 🌻✨
Sign up for our CSA is live in our bio!!
🌱 Season runs from the last week of June-
September. It is 16 weeks
🌱 Each week, you will get a share of the weekly
harvest from our farm!
🌱 In addition to your lovely tasty produce, we will
include a recipe card and/or serving suggestion in your
box each week!
🌱 To try to make this more accessible, we have 3 pick
up locations. 2 in Indy (details to come - we are still
working it out with one of the locations) and 1 in
Martinsville. We will also be operating this on a sliding
scale (more info in the form, but reach out if you aren’t
sure where you fall). We ask that everyone pay what
they can, and if you are someone who can pay higher
that will help subsidize the lower cost boxes
🌱We will send you updates on how we spend the
CSA money. Right now, we are planning on using to to
build a proper wash and pack station, purchase
fencing for the garden, and purchase more compost
for some new beds.
✨ if you have any questions about us, our CSA, or
CSA in general, feel free to ask us questions, and we
will do our best to respond in a timely manner.
✨ This is our first year doing a CSA, so will be a
learning experience for everyone. I am so excited to be
able to share our bounty with members, and to be
