🔹Cats have a diverse vocal range of sounds.

🐾Cats tend to direct their meows to humans rather than to other cats. Although meows are heard when kittens are exchanged, they are rarely heard during domestic cat-cat interactions. The function of the meow is usually incitement (greeting, attention-related to food, or when the kitten is separated from the queen).

🐾Cats purr in many situations - in both positive and negative contexts. Queen's purr when feeding kittens and kittens purr while feeding. Cats also purr when resting or rubbing next to a feline companion, when greeting their owners and when being stroked or groomed on the owner's lap.

🐾The function of the trill is to convey a greeting, attract attention, and encourage companionship with other cats. Trills and chirps are directed at people and appear along with meows. The high Chirp sound is also thought to mimic the chirping of birds or rodents to lure prey.

✂️Grooming of the Week✂️
Shearing cats' coats can reduce the risk of tangles, help them stay cool during hot summers, and even reduce the effects of hairballs.

Scalloping is one of the most standard cat "hairstyles. In this haircut, the groomer leaves the classic hair around the paws, head, and tail and takes the length from the central part of the hair. The scalloped haircut can only be done on cats that do not have existing tangles or tangles.

The lion haircut is most often used to remove tangles on a cat's belly. It involves shaving the hair entirely down to the skin on the torso, leaving the head, paws, and tail. The hair is also shaved down to the shoulders, creating the impression of a lion's mane, hence the name of the haircut!

🐾Tick removal is undoubtedly one of the little fun summer activities we have to look forward to every year. So, what can you do to keep your cat safe from ticks this season?

◻️Tick pills. One of the benefits of using a tablet once a month is that you don't have to worry about small children and cat contact immediately after application or the cat leaving pesticide residue on furniture, as you can with spot treatments.

◻️Bathing your cat with a shampoo containing therapeutic ingredients usually kills mites on contact. This can be an inexpensive (though time-consuming) method of protecting your cat during peak tick season.

◻️The dip is a concentrated chemical that should be diluted in water and applied with a sponge to your pet's coat or poured on the back. You will not rinse your pet after applying the dip. They can be solid, so you should read the labels carefully before using them.

◻️Tick repellent collars are an additional preventative you can use, although they are mostly only useful for protecting the neck and head from ticks. The collar must contact your cat's skin to allow the chemicals to get onto her coat and skin.

◻️Another method of topical treatment is tick powders. Ensure that the powder you are using is labeled for cats before using it. Also, make sure you check the label to make sure the product is designed to kill ticks and fleas.

◻️Another topical medication, a tick spray, quickly kills ticks and provides residual protection. Wreaths can be used between shampoos and baths and can be helpful if your cat spends a lot of time in the woods.

In 1868, the London Money Transfer Service officially employed three cats as mouse catchers. They received a salary of one shilling a week, usually spent on their upkeep.
According to the Postal Museum, the most famous postal cat was Tibs, who weighed about 10.4 kg. He was born in November 1950 and lived in a club where the General Post Office employees gathered. He managed to keep rats and mice out of the building throughout his 14 years of service.

In the summer of 2016, the Durham Police Department hired Mittens, the cat.

▫️MUNCHKIN

▫️SCOTTISH FOLD.
Scottish lop-eared cats have curved ears. The breed originated from a cat named Susie from Scotland, who had lop ears when a shepherd discovered her in 1961.

▫️KHAO MANY.
These cats have creamy white coats and bright green, blue or gold eyes. This breed has no undercoat due to the warm temperatures in Thailand.

▫️PIXIBOBOB
Founding breeder Carol Ann Brewer claims that Pixiebob cats come from a line of naturally occurring lynx hybrids, but the genetic evidence is inconclusive.

▫️SAVANNAH

The most unusual cats in Ukraine

The fattest cat in Ukraine is nine-year-old Matis from Donetsk. The weight of this red cat is 17 kg, waist circumference - 67 cm, and the length from ears to tail - almost a meter.

The oldest cat in the country lives in Kiev and has the name Kuzya. The cat is 23 years old (140-150 years by human standards!), and the owner brought it from a trip to the U.S., where she worked for a year.
Ukrainian numismatics is rich with cats: four cats are minted in metal. It's hard to say what breed of cat is minted on the silver coin, because the artists Vladimir Taran and the brothers Alexander and Sergey Kharuka drew it in the kooky style. But the cat is cute, fluffy, mustachioed, with green eyes made of Alpine semiprecious stone.

The cat from Donetsk named Oliver Illanius is one of the most titled cats in Ukraine. He is the only WCF (World Cat Federation) World Champion among Persian chinchillas in our country.

Rescuers officially recognized Murlyana from the town of Chudnov, Zhitomir region as a heroine. The room was engulfed in flames, but the cat jumped onto its owner's chest and began zealously scratching until it woke him up. The veteran said that the cat even tried to pull him by the scruff of the neck, but he didn't have enough strength.

And a cat from Sevastopol nicknamed "Tatarin" rescued his 26-year-old mistress, when he saw that the heater and the crib were on fire, he meowd furiously and woke up his soundly sleeping mistress.

The cat Fedor lives in Lugansk region, and when he saw that there was a burglar in the house, he woke up the owner with his meow.

🐱Usually, a cat has five toes on its front paws and four on its back feet. Polydactyl cats have 1-2 more toes than their regular counterparts on one paw. Additionally, the configuration of these toes is different. The polydactyl gene is found in 40-50% of all cases and is independent of gender.

🐾Polydactyl cats are sometimes called "glove cats" or "Hemmingway cats." The latter name refers to the writer Ernest Hemingway, who was given his first polydactyl cat, Snowball, by a ship's captain and fellow traveler. Thanks to rampant breeding, nearly 50 of Snowball's descendants still live at the Hemingway home in Key West, Florida.

🐾Cats with extra toes have the dominant PD gene. The cat only needs one copy of the gene from either parent to have the trait. Consequently, if one parent has extra toes, 50% of kittens will have them too. Polydactyly does not affect cats negatively. It's just an adorable quirk.

🐾The claws associated with extra toes are usually normal, although sometimes the extra toe may not be fully formed, and the nail bed is deformed, leading to claw problems such as ingrown or enlarged nails. Like all feline claws, overgrown ones require regular clipping.

🐾In 1974, a cat was found to have 32 toes, eight on each paw. The current record holder is Tiger, a 27-fingered kitten from Alberta, Canada.

🐾Interestingly, the residents of New England (northeastern United States), where the phenomenon is widespread among the Maine C**ns, consider them aborigines of these lands. There is a widespread belief that Maine C**ns are excellent hunters, and extra toes make them more agile, tenacious, and stable, allowing them to move freely through the deep snow without falling into it.

🐈‍⬛When a cat gets tangles, there are only a few options for removing them: either shave them off entirely or comb them out.

🐈‍⬛Since cat tangles are tangled, brushing them out or using any spray or product to untangle them is useless.

🐈‍⬛Adding these products can do more harm than good to your cat's coat. Cloth removal sprays can remain on the skin, which can be licked off when the cat later starts grooming. These sprays often contain fragrances, silicones, and other ingredients not meant to be ingested by cats.

🐈‍⬛There are two ways to safely remove tangles: comb them out entirely or shave them off with professional pet clippers.

🐈‍⬛If the tangles are small, about the size of a nickel or less, there's a good chance they can be combed out without using a hair clipper. A sturdy metal comb at least six to eight inches in size will be the best tool. Tiny combs or flea combs have teeth that are too close together to pull out tangles without pulling too much hair.

🐈‍⬛When the tangles are too big, too dense, or is too sensitive an area, shaving may be better than combing them out. A professional pet clipper with a #10 blade can often remove tangles faster and without additional skin pulling.

🐈‍⬛Whether brushing or shaving, many tangles leave a bald spot after removal.
In some cases, a burn may occur after removing the tangles. This is caused by the cat licking itself in the same place repeatedly. Cats do this because the webs put a lot of strain on the skin, and the skin becomes more sensitive, inflamed, or itchy after the tangles are removed.

To keep the cat in your lap, use your forearms wrapped around the cat's neck and your butt to keep the cat in your lap.

🐱Several nail trimmers, including guillotine type, scissors, and standard nail clippers. The guillotine type or the nail clipper is the easiest to use on cats.
The scissor-type is used if the toenail is so long that it curls in a circle. Long claws can ingrow into the pads of the toe.

🐱Cats have retractable claws, so you need to gently squeeze your finger between your thumb and forefinger to expose the nail.

🐱Most cats have light-colored claws, which makes it easy to see the blood vessels and nerves that feed the nail, in the form of a pink stripe at the base of the claw, which is called a fast. You want to cut the foot about 2 millimeters from the tip.

🐱If you cut on life, the claw will bleed, and the cat will be in pain.

🐱Light-colored claws can be trimmed with one notch on each nail.
If the trimmer is positioned parallel to the nail (cutting from side to side), the pin is squashed and may split.

🐱The sharper the trimmer, the cleaner the cut. You can use a nail file to smooth out the end of the nail after trimming.

🐱Cats have a nail on the inside of each paw called a dewclaw. Be sure to trim them, as they don't wear out when the cat scratches and can grow in circles, growing into the paw.
