My favorite teammate š
It was so interesting watching Timber run with other people last weekend. It was his first time competing with anybody but me, I never get to just watch him!
My friends did a wonderful job running him - itās hard running a new dog especially when heās much taller than what each friend runs! I feel like it really emphasized just how much goes into agility.
I donāt think anybody considers agility easy, but there really are SO many little things that go into a run! Itās not as simple as just where to do which type of cross and hit the obstacles in order. The speed, the timing, the obstacle commitment, the distance you can or canāt get, the verbals, the start line routine, the confidence required, the handling techniques, etc - SO MANY THINGS!
My friends did really great, even getting one clean run! But I do think it helped my imposter syndrome a bit seeing that nobody can quite run your own dog like you can. Sometimes it can feel like a dog just knows what to do, but you and your dog really make a team - counting on each other for every run! Thatās what makes agility so special and fun. I canāt wait to get back to running my boy š
