Just a puppy.
Banjo (#A4687153) is a 1 year old Male Pitbull Terrier Mix and weighs 68 lbs.
During the intake he was scared but friendly enough to allow petting. He slowly eats treats but when the handler approaches to leash him, he retreats to the corner of the kennel with tail tucked and becomes very stressed when trying to leash. He seems to have trouble being leashed and growls at the leash, but once in the yard he leans in for pets and explores the yard. The staff members have been visiting him in attempts to leash so that he can be desensitized about his fear with the leash. He is very good/treat motivated.
Once he is on the leash, he becomes more relaxed. In the yard he went in for pets and wagged his tail. His true personality comes out when he is in the yard. He becomes very playful and seeks attention with tail wags. He loves to run around in the yard and play with the ball. Over the days, he has started showing some signs of improvement with the leash.
This boy just needs some leash training and a loving home. There is no bite in his history. He is set to be killed on 2/15/2022. 💔🆘 it’s not fair to him to be killed because he is not good with being leashed, that can be achieved with some training.
