Revel's been working on lots of skills so he can provide more demos inside The Agility Playground!
Kristen came out to play and had fun running Revel on this mini tunnelers course. Blind tunnel sends and layering were a couple of the skills they practiced.

We have arrived at our next seminar destination. Other than being car sick, which I hope he grows out of, the puppy has exceeded all of my hopeful expectations on this trip so far. Video later when I have a chance to process it! In the meantime, here are a few pictures.

What happens when your puppy hangs out at a seminar all day, shows the "big dogs" how to do the basics, and then plays with his new friend? He puts himself to bed, of course! We are having a great time in Kansas City :-).

Another great day at a seminar! Puppy was well-behaved, went on an adventure with Brittanie, and played at lunchtime (trained) with two new people. No puppy video today, unfortunately.
Everyone had fun and learned new things!

Welcome home Revel (Golden Meadow Extreme Revelry)! We explored and played, he slept in my lap for a long time, he went potty outside in the dark and cold, and then he crawled into his open crate and crashed.
Tomorrow will be the start of lots of adventures!

The Australian Koolie babies are 5 weeks old! How time flies.
The decision is down to two - the one on the top right or the one in the middle. Waiting a couple more weeks to see structure and get a second (unbiased!) opinion about temperament before I make my final decision.
ALL of the puppies in the litter are lovely - but I want a boy, and those two pull me more than the third one. They are all going to make fantastic sport dogs, and more importantly, excellent companions. They are in the clown stage right now, tumble and chew on everything, so lunchtime today was a riot.

Helped another reporter with an article about puppies. It's a quick read if you're interested.
While a natural and common behavior, puppy whining allows puppies to communicate their discomfort and should be addressed. Learn more about why puppies whine and what to do about it.

How Did We Get Here?
Maximum Fun Dog Sports was named to honor my first agility dog, Maxx. When he walked up my driveway in 2002, I had no idea how much he would change my life. After taking a family obedience class with him, the owner of the facility told me “You need to come to my agility class” because he really needed a job. That was the start of an incredible journey that brought me new friends, took me new places, and drove me to learn new skills.
At Maxx’s first trial (in the snow!), all four of his runs were qualifiers and first places. I was hooked. By 2005, I started teaching classes at the facility, and seminars about distance. Maxx took me to National Championships every year between 2004 and 2015, and won a lot! He played safely and successfully until he was 14 1/2 and I noticed he was starting to misjudge jumps just a little bit. I had over two more wonderful years after his retirement, and lost him two weeks before his (arbitrary) 17th birthday.
Maxx taught me many, many of the lessons that I am able to pass to my students today. I’m on agility dog number six now, and each of them has taught me something valuable. Four of them are no longer with us, but will always be present in the knowledge I have gained and share.
The most important thing my dogs have taught me is that *everything* about training and competing is supposed to be FUN! Everyone gets frustrated or discouraged at some point, but at the end of the day, agility, tricks, obedience, and everything else we do is NOT brain surgery, and nobody dies if we get it wrong. We are allowed to regroup and find better ways to do things so that training is fun for both halves of the team.
I hope you will join me as I continue this journey that Maxx started for me. If you want to be added to my seminar list for online or in-person seminars, please sign up at www.maximumfundogs.com .
