Wow! We did it!
The birth of a new strain here in Singapore. This is a wild strain that is found in the US that can withstand the heat and climate in Singapore.
We colonised the strain on sawdust and added extra nutrients to aid in its growth. After 3 months of experiments, lots of failures and disappointments. We have finally done it!

A Royal Flush - Black Oysters in full bloom.
This strain is from the King Oyster family. But if grown in different fruiting conditions, you will see thinner stems and wider caps.
The colder it gets, the darker the caps too.
These mushrooms were grown on recycled hardwood from Singapore's urban jungle.

Do you know it only takes 4-7 days to fruit a fully colonised jar of oyster mushroom mycelium? Once the mycelium starts to show pinning, you can harvest it within 2-3 days!
