Savvy is a beautiful little soul. She is an approx 5 mos old Border Collie weighing 15 #. She is as sweet as can be and willing to learn anything you want to teach her. Savvy is doing great with leash training and house training but she’s still a puppy, so needs to have an eye kept on her. Savvy has a beautiful re-call and loves everyone she meets. She gets along with other dogs of all sizes. It is required that she is adopted to an active person/ family with a fenced in yard, no exceptions. Her Border Collie brain needs stimulation and will be a fun challenge for anyone! She will also be the love of your life. She had not been tested with cats or kids but an older respectful kid 10+ may be considered. If you’re interested in meeting Savvy the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms Savvy is spayed, utd on age appropriate vaccines, chipped, and HW-. Her adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Thank Dog it’s the weekend! Rebel may be his name but it certainly isn't his personality! He is an approximately 3 year-old, 40-lb Corgi/Heeler blend. He's dog-friendly and respectful kid-friendly (10+), hates his vegetables, and tolerates his crate. When Rebel wants to be pet, he'll wiggle his backside in your direction. On leashed walks, his first instinct is to GO!, but once he settles into the walk, he's pretty good with some pulling to get to the best smells. Rebel has always lived with another dog and would do best with another dog his size to play with. He knows "sit" and he sleeps through the night in his crate or out of it. Rebel is house-trained and can be left alone in the house without accidents. Rebel loves his chew toys, especially rubber balls and is great at only chewing toys and not household objects. Only apply for Rebel if you are prepared for normal Corgi things like lots of shedding and occasional smack talk. Rebel has not been tested with cats. While he is kid-friendly, the kid needs to be big enough to handle a forty-pound dog who wants to show his love with his whole body. Rebel doesn't necessarily need a fenced yard if his humans are home for frequent leashed walks and outdoor potty time but an apartment situation with shared walls is NOT a good fit since he does sometimes bark. If you are interested in meeting Rebel, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check and meet with everyone in the home. Rebel is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Are you ready to add a little charm and a lot of love to your home? Look no further than Murphy, a 5-month-old shortie mix weighing in at a solid 25lbs. He trails his foster mom around the house and loves a good cuddle. He’s hasn’t meant a toy that he doesn’t love, and he enjoys sniffing out treats for a game. His foster mom’s best guess is that he is part basset hound, but this boy is a true mix of breeds including perhaps terrier, schnauzer, and Heeler. Murphy is doing great with all his puppy basics including potty training. He sleeps through the night in his crate and has started leash training. He does well with other dogs, and while he loves to play, this growing boy also likes to take some serious naps. He has not met cats, but has been respectful when meeting a rabbit and chickens. He hasn’t met kids either but we think his temperament would do well with kids 6+. While Murphy would prefer a fenced in yard, he may be considered in an apartment situation where his human is not gone long hours. If interested in Murphy the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms Murphy is neutered, utd on vaccs and chipped. His adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Thank Dog it's the weekend! Eden is an approx 18 mos old 24 # petite Corgi. She was surrendered by her family who was no longer able to take care of her. Eden is a busy and active little girl who loves people. She’d do very well with an active canine playmate who doesn’t mind the occasional nip or muzzle punch to initiate more play and enjoys being chased. We think Eden spent a good portion of her time outdoors previously so is learning to be an inside dog. She’s had some potty accidents indoors but for the most part goes outside to do her business when accompanied by her human. She’ll need consistent support and positive reinforcement to continue her potty training and someone home to go in and out with her during the day. She has been sleeping in her crate with some protest but her new person will need to make sure that she potties before bed or you’ll be getting a wake up call about 2-3 AM . She thinks napping and snuggling in the big bed with her human is pretty amazing. She isn’t familiar with flights of stairs or getting on furniture and doesn’t know many cues but does know her name and has a good recall. Eden gets along with most dogs with slower introductions (she can be spicy with unfamiliar dogs who don’t respect her space) but a patient, higher energy pup would be an ideal companion. We have not cat or kid tested her but recommend no cats as she is very herdy and kids 8+. Eden requires a herding breed experienced owner and a fenced in yard; she is not a good fit for an apartment situation. She would appreciate daily walks and/or runs and she is good on the leash. She would likely get kicked out of a dog park for trying to be the fun police. Eden needs an active home with humans who will include her in their daily activities and teach her fun things. She would love to learn a dog sport and/or have a job. Eden is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. If you are interested in meeting Eden you can complete our meet and greet application as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Eden’s adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado. Please note: if you have already applied for Eden and have not heard back from us, please read our FAQs.

Thank Dog it’s the weekend! Ross (aka Rocket, fka Kiwi) is an approx 27 # Corgi mix with beautiful German Shepherd markings and amazingly cute short stumpers. He’s approx 2 y/o, has the softest fur and is a snuggle bug to his people with a strong herding breed personality. He always does his business outside, using the doggie door like a champ. He really loves walks, and learning to loose leash walk. Ross has displayed some people guarding and herding behaviors in his home so he needs an experienced owner who knows how to direct these behaviors. He has been very quick to learn the sit cue and has been learning other fun things. He and his former foster brother were fast buddies (it only took 4 days for them to start playing and chasing each other around the house) but he hasn’t really liked any unfamiliar dogs since then. Ross needs a family preferably working from home or retired who will include him in their daily activities and hopefully give him a job. He's not good with kids and not cat tested but based on his temperament, cats probably aren’t a good fit. He likes to smack talk and will be a perfect security alarm for your home. He requires a secure fenced in yard as he is not a good fit for an apartment situation. Ross loves to sleep in the big bed with his humans and will go occasionally to his crate during the day for a chill out. He's a lover and will shower you with kisses. If you’re interested in meeting Ross, the first step Is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Ross is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. His adoption fee is $400 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.

Babs is a pint-sized nugget from a shelter in Texas. She's approximately 1 year old and 26 lbs. She might be a Heeler/Terrier mix, but is definitely a mix of cute and sweet! She is attached to her foster mom and is hoping to have a mom to call her own. She does well with both her foster mom and dad. She craves attention, cuddling and belly rubs! She enjoys going on walks and does great on a leash with a harness! She has a great time playing with her foster brother and is unbothered by his antics. She also loves taking naps on the couch with a person. She is learning to play ball/fetch in addition to some basic cues for sit, down and touch. She is treat-motivated and eager to learn. She should get daily exercise. She requires a 5-ft fenced-in yard, that is not a wrought iron fence, as she can fit her little body through narrow spaces. She is dog friendly but can be in a household where she is the only dog, as long as she receives the affection she craves. She has not been tested with kids, but would probably be good with an older kid 10+. She is currently living with dog savvy cats. She is very interested in the cats and is still learning boundaries. She kennels with encouragement. She might cry for a minute or two when left alone but she does settle down. She sleeps through the night in her kennel in her foster parents room. Knowing they are there makes her happy and her tail starts wagging the moment her foster parents get up. She should be in a household where her human is home most of the day, and can give her the proper attention and exercise she needs. She is mostly potty trained but does still need some extra encouragement to potty after she has been crated for a while. She is independently using a dog door. In a new home, she will need training on how to let her human know she needs to go out. Currently, her foster family proactively takes her out every few hours, but she can go all through the night. Babs is spayed, utd on vaccines, HW-, and chipped. If you are interested in meeting Babs and giving her a forever home you can complete our application as the first step at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms. We require the application, home and reference check, and meeting with everyone in the home including pets. Her adoption fee is $375 and we are not doing any out of state adoptions.

My name is Filbert and I am a Chihuahua mix puppy who is 4.8 pounds and 10 weeks old. I love all people, dogs of all sizes and ages, and I also love the two cats and my foster home. My favorite pastimes are snuggles, playing with anything that might be a toy, and running around outside when I get the zoomies. I am kennel trained. I sleep through the night, but I still need work on being fully potty trained, so someone home to let me in and out during the day to do my business will be given preference. I don’t seem to make any messes in my kennel during the night, but if I don’t have access to outside, I might potty inside and I always feel bad when I do. I am looking to find my forever home. Respectful kids 8+ will be considered and a fenced in yard would be best. I’m not a big barker except for when I get put in my kennel before bedtime. I have one set of puppy vaccs left. If you are interested in meeting me, the first step is to complete the meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms The application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home is required. Filbert is neutered, utd on age appropriate vaccs, and chipped. His adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Teddy is a 6 year old super sweet guy with the best wagging tail nub you have ever seen. He came to Rescue after his owner moved and didn’t take him so he’s hoping to find his forever home now. He is very affectionate and loves to sit on the couch and cuddle. He loves his walks (currently 39lbs and working on getting fit) and meeting new people. He is housebroken, and while he has a history of marking, this has not been an issue in his foster home. He really is a sweet heart and loves to be around his people. While Teddy does well with other dogs, he does resource guard food and would do best as an only dog or in an experienced home who knows how to handle this behavior. Teddy is looking for an owner who can help him work through years of reactivity habits that were never addressed. He is mostly a chill guy loving to nap the day away, but he does get upset and bark at common household items like coffee grinders, garbage disposals, windows and blinds, and sometimes doors. His foster is working on having him sit and remain calm around his "triggers", and his new family will need to be committed to work on this as well. He is trainable, treat motivated, and already knows some basic cues. Teddy's vaccines are up to date, he is neutered, microchipped, HW-, and he received a recent dental procedure. He is crate trained but prefers to sleep near his human. He loves the outdoors and requires a fenced yard and someone who does not work long hours away from home. We do not know his history with cats or children so only respectful 10+ children please. He didn’t show any interest in cats but we still don’t know how he’d be living with them. If you have room in your heart for Teddy, he has room in his heart for you. Please take the first step and complete the meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and that he meets with everyone in the home. Teddy’s adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Thank Dog it’s the weekend! Luna is a sweet senior who lost the only home she has ever known. She is an 11.5 year old, 55 lb terrier blend hoping there is an angel who appreciates an older dog that will give her a new place to lay her head. She is house trained and knows all about manners. She isn’t destructive when left out and sleeps in a dog bed overnight so we don’t know if she’s crate trained. She is sweet, happy and very lovable; her smile says it all. She is older and can be a little stiff when she first gets up, but she still loves to play, go exploring, and get belly rubs. The mutual love she and her former owner shared is apparent, but sadly he passed away and Luna ended up in a small overcrowded rural TX shelter. Luna has a lot of love to give and a lot of laughs and snuggles to bring with her to her new home. We have not been able to test Luna with cats or kids but her previous foster in TX said she’s good with respectful children. She hasn’t attempted a flight of stairs so her new home should not have a lot of stairs to access the outdoor/potty area. She is taking all the changes in stride trusting that these new humans will find her a new person or family to devote her remaining years to. She needs to find a home where she can relax and breathe and bond. And go for walkies! She keeps a great pace. Another friendly doggie friend would be appreciated in her new home but not necessary if her humans are around most of the time. She got a clean bill of health from the vet and her blood work looks great. If you would like to meet Luna please complete our application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms
We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Luna’s adoption fee is $175 and she is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations, HW-, and chipped. We do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Thank Dog it’s the weekend! Babs is a sweet happy girl that came from a shelter in Texas. She's approximately 1 year old and 26 lbs. She's a Heeler/Terrier mix, and has the sweetest personality and face! She has become very attached to her foster mom and follows her around like a little shadow. She craves lots of attention, cuddling, and belly rubs! She does great though with both her foster mom and dad, and the attachment may get better as she gains more confidence. She loves going on walks, and does great on a leash with a harness! She is learning and has become interested in ball/fetch, and is a dog that should get daily exercise. She requires a fenced in yard, that is not a wrought iron fence, as she can fit her skinny body through narrow spaces. She is dog friendly but can be in a household where she is the only dog, as long aa she receives the affection she craves. COURTESY POST:
Chloe is a "special needs" baby. She became paralyzed in her hind legs in March from an unknown injury. Her owner has reached out in hopes of being able to rehome her due to the owner’s physical limitations. Chloe has a cart. She is unable to urinate on her own, so her bladder needs to be expressed at least 3 to 4 times a day (owner can show you how). She is able to p**p on her own. She is on a special diet due to urinary issues that are compounded by not being to relieve herself. So it is imperative that her diet is kept within the confines of her prescription food and making sure her bladder is emptied. Chloe has a wonderful personality and is quite a happy little dog considering the circumstances. Chloe is very loving and affectionate. She likes to cuddle and she is very welcoming towards other people. She looks forward to daily walks, which are very beneficial to help her regain her strength after having to be confined due to her injury. This was to help with any swelling that had occurred and to keep her from moving around more than what she should in order to heal. She has regained her happy deposition and is wanting to play and trying to chase her cats again. PT procedures would need to be continued including chiropractic treatments and acupuncture. Hydrotherapy would also be beneficial. Chloe is 24 # and 2-3 years old, spayed, utd on vaccs and HW-. If you’d like to know more about Chloe and her needs, please contact us at [email protected] with a description of your living situation (fence, kids, dogs, working hours, experience, etc.) and we can put you in contact with her owner. Serious inquiries only please.

UPDATE on Teddy:
Teddy is on a brief medical hold after having 18 teeth extracted this week. 😞 He’s been showing resource guarding behavior with food with other dogs and is sound sensitive (reacts by barking) to normal household items like the vacuum and blender but also blinds and curtains. He is easily redirected with treats but will need his new person to work with him. He also didn’t show any interest in cats but we still don’t know how he’d be living with them.

This super sweet guy would like to be your everything! Teddy’s owner moved and didn’t take him along. He’s hoping these new humans will find him a home where he can feel safe and loved forever. He is approximately 6 y/o, 40 #, neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. He walks well on leash, loves to go do chores with you, and will alert you when something suspicious is outside. He does need continued supervision and will mark indoors if unattended. Teddy is very well behaved and gets along with all types of dogs. He is crate trained and loves to be outside. Teddy requires a fenced in yard and a semi active human who is committed to get him to a healthy weight. We have not tested him with cats or kids so recommend older kids 10+. Teddy has a dental appointment this week so he can give his new people all the smooches. Teddy needs to find his joy again after his owner left him. If you think you can give Teddy the love and exercise he needs, complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms
as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Teddy’s adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Ezri is an approx. 18-month-old 29 # Corgi and was a housemate to Eden. He was surrendered by his family who were no longer able to take care of him. Ezri is a busy and active little boy who loves people. He has a happy soul, is kind, gentle, and is inquisitive about the world around him. He has been enjoying car rides, trying new treats, and meeting people. He just thinks that life is grand! We think Ezri spent a good portion of his time outdoors previously so he is learning to be an inside dog. He’s had some potty accidents indoors but for the most part goes outside to do his business when accompanied by his human. He uses a doggie door (he loves zooming inside and out through it) but is still working on the concept that all potty breaks should occur outside. He’ll need to be watched, consistent support, and positive reinforcement to continue his potty training and someone home to go in and out with him during the day. He has been sleeping in his crate well but does prefer to be close to his humans. Ezri know his name and will come and sit when asked. His skin is recovering from flea bite dermatitis mostly on his legs and paws. He will need weekly soothing baths until he has completely healed. In his short time in foster care his condition has already improved and he is barely itching anymore. He’d love an active canine playmate who doesn’t mind little brother pestering them to play and enjoys being chased. Ezri gets along with most dogs but a patient, higher energy pup would be an ideal companion for this super happy, bouncy, busy pup. He does thinks cats are fun to chase and bark at. He isn’t aggressive with his foster cats but a cat that isn’t dog savvy could certainly be stressed by his energy. He loves being close to his humans and following them wherever they go. He loves kids but because of his energy, older kids 10+ would be a better match. Ezri requires a patient family and a fenced in yard; he is not a good fit for an apartment situation. Daily walks and/or runs would be imperative to keeping him exercised and he is good on the leash. Ezri wants a home with kind humans who will include him in their daily activities and teach him fun things as he is all about enjoying life. Ezri is neutered, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. If you are interested in meeting Ezri, you can complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms as the first step. We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Ezri’s adoption fee is $450 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Thank Dog for long weekends! Becky is an approx 6 month old “Pomsky”, that is a Pomeranian/Husky blend. She was surrendered to a shelter in Texas with her littermates. She is currently 13 lbs and is expected to be a medium size dog. She is a very busy girl and would do best with an active family. She does well on leash with a harness. She gets along well with other dogs and dog savvy cats. She is mostly housebroken, and she is crate trained. She will definitely need some training as her husky nature could get her into trouble. She hasn’t been around children so older respectful children 10+ may be considered. Becky would do best in an active home who has the time to help her transition into being a well mannered young adult which includes enrolling her in a basic training class at the very least. She is so people oriented that she would not do well left alone for long periods. A fenced yard is required and she may not be left unattended outside for extended periods or when her humans leave. She is not a good fit for an apartment situation unless you have previous Husky experience and are a chronic homebody. Please understand the grooming requirements for a high shedding dog breed. If you are interested in meeting Becky, the first step is to complete the meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms
We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Becky is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

Whether your dog gets anxious during fireworks or remains calm, it's essential to ensure their safety during Independence Day celebrations. Here are some tips to help every dog have a safe and enjoyable holiday:

1. Secure Your Home: Double-check that all doors, windows, and gates are securely closed to prevent any accidental escapes, especially during fireworks displays.

2. Create a Safe Space: Set up a quiet, comfortable area indoors where your dog can retreat if they feel uneasy. Use familiar bedding and toys to help them feel secure.

3. Ensure Identification: Make sure your dog wears a collar with up-to-date ID tags. Ensure their microchip information is current in case they do wander off.

4. Keep Them Indoors: During fireworks shows, keep your dog indoors where it's quieter and safer. Loud noises can startle dogs of all temperaments.

5. Offer Distractions: Provide toys, puzzles, or treats to keep your dog occupied and distracted from the noise outside.

6. Avoid Fireworks Exposure: Keep your dog away from fireworks, sparklers, and firecrackers, as they can pose risks if ingested or cause burns.

7. Monitor Carefully: If outside with your dog, keep them on a leash and closely supervise them to prevent them from running away if startled.

8. Stay Calm and Comforting: Dogs pick up on our emotions, so staying calm and providing reassurance can help them feel more secure during the celebrations.

9. Emergency Preparedness: Have a recent photo and description of your dog on hand in case they do escape. Immediately contact local shelters and animal control if they go missing.

By following these tips, you can ensure a safe and enjoyable 4th of July for your dog, whether they're nervous about fireworks or not. Wishing you and your canine companion a wonderful Independence Day!
