We’re proud to have participated in the Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) Forum held in Kigali from 17th–18th July 2025, bringing together 45 youth changemakers from across East Africa.

Representing Somali civil sociaty organizations, PUSAN joined the conversation on how youth can drive innovative, sustainable agri-food systems in the face of climate change.

We shared our work in climate-resilient agriculture and food systems, and contributed to shaping the East African Youth Statement on Sustainable Food, a regional input to upcoming platforms like the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF), Africa Climate Summit (ACS), and COP30.

We extend our thanks to the organizers of YEFFA — AGRA, and Mastercard Foundation — for creating this space for youth leadership, learning, and collaboration.

Together, we continue to build a more food-secure, climate-smart future for our communities.

PUSAN at COP16 in Riyadh

We are at COP16 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Led by our Director, Abdirabi Mohamed, our delegation is engaging with global leaders, organizations, and experts to address the critical challenges of drought, land degradation, and sustainable land management.

For Somalia, this is a vital opportunity to advocate for climate resilience, reforestation efforts, and empowering communities to protect and restore our land. PUSAN is committed to ensuring Somalia’s voice is heard in shaping solutions for a sustainable future.

We’re excited to be organizing a Pre-COP29 Youth Training Workshop in Somalia, bringing together passionate Somali climate activists to prepare for this year’s global climate discussions. This workshop is a collaboration between United Beyond Borders (UBB) and PUSAN.

We are very appreciate to the YALI RLC EA - Alumni Chapter of Somalia for being hosted this workshop.

The goal is to equip Somali youth with knowledge and skills to engage more effectively in climate action and policy. It’s a chance to connect with other young leaders, learn about climate negotiation and advocacy, and get ready to make a strong impact on the international stage.

Looking forward to seeing the incredible ideas that come out of this workshop!

PUSAN is proud to be part of the United Beyond Borders initiative!

Calling all Somali youth passionate about climate action! This is your chance to get involved and prepare for COP29 Azerbaijan through a comprehensive training program designed specifically for youth from conflict-affected countries in the MENA region.

United Beyond Borders empowers young activists from Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Palestine, Iraq, and Libya by providing training in climate negotiations, policy paper writing, and UNFCCC processes. You will gain essential skills and knowledge to actively participate in international climate conferences and drive positive change.

Training Format:
- Online Sessions:October 17, 18, and 19, 2024
- On-ground Sessions:October 23 and 24, 2024 (in Somalia)

Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be 35 years old or younger
- Passionate about climate action and experienced in climate policies
- Intermediate English level
- Committed to the full 1-week program

This is a unique opportunity to represent Somalia at COP29 and contribute to the global climate movement!

🎥 Catch the Highlights from LCOY Somalia 2024! 🎥

We Co-hosted the first-ever Local Conference of Youth Somalia in Mogadishu, bringing together over 200 youth delegates for a powerful gathering focused on climate action. Through workshops, panel discussions, and consultations, we developed the Somali Youth National Statement on Climate Change—a crucial contribution to the Global Youth Statement for in Azerbaijan this November. 🌍
