Kiki’s Update

We wanted to share an important update with everyone who has been following Kiki’s journey. After several tests, including ultrasounds and bloodwork, we’ve received heartbreaking news: Kiki has been diagnosed with renal dysplasia, a condition where her kidneys are underdeveloped. Right now, her kidneys are functioning like those of a 16-year-old dog.

This diagnosis explains why Kiki has been feeling so unwell. She is very nauseous when she eats, and unfortunately, higher levels of protein in her diet make her feel even worse.

Kiki is currently at the vet receiving subcutaneous fluids to help support her. We are starting her on anti-nausea medication, appetite stimulants, and a new kidney diet right away to give her the best chance at feeling more comfortable and managing her condition.

Kiki is so deeply loved by her foster family and everyone here at Fur-Ever Able. We are committed to giving her the best care possible and ensuring she has a good quality of life.

Our sweet little warrior, Gizmo, is heading to the Ontario Veterinary College today for a thorough heart check and evaluation. This brave boy has so much going on, but he continues to show us what a fighter he is. 🐾💔

Please send all your love, good vibes, and positive energy his way as he takes this next step in his journey. We’re hoping for the best outcome for Gizmo and are so grateful for the incredible care he’ll be receiving. 💌

It’s Cody’s turn for adoption applications.
Hi! I’m Cody, and yes, I’m THE cutest 4-month-old cockapoo around! I’m a bundle of joy, full of zoomies, puppy mischief, and charm. I’m always happy, love giving kisses, and I’m at my best when I have a kiddo or doggy sibling to play with! Tiny humans are my favorite, and I love waking them up with a wagging tail and lots of kisses.
I’ve got brains to match my cuteness! I’m almost fully housebroken (I ring a bell when it’s time to go outside), and I’ve already learned several tricks, thanks to my love of treats! I’m a quiet pup—no barking at doorbells or passing animals—so you won’t have to worry about noisy interruptions.
I’m a little shy around new people at first, but I’m always eager to make new dog friends. I get along with dogs of all sizes, though I will still chase cats unless they’re bold enough to tell me off!
Like all puppies, I’m still learning. I’m in my piranha phase, which means I love to chew. Even though I have plenty of toys, fingers and clothes sometimes tempt me! But with patience (and some tasty treats), I’ll keep getting better! I’m crate-trained and sleep in my crate at night, though during the day, I prefer to snuggle on pillows or human laps. I’m all about comfort!

Toonie Tuesday - Gill’s Urgent Surgery Needs Your Help!

Tomorrow, our precious collie/ Bernese cross Gill is scheduled for a much-needed cleft palate surgery — and it’s necessary for his well-being. After months of struggling with recurring cleft infections, Gill’s condition has worsened, and his cleft opening is one of the worst we’ve seen in a pup. These infections are causing him constant pain and discomfort.

Gill was just at the vet this week, and the surgery needs to happen as soon as possible to prevent further complications and give him a chance at a healthier, happier life.

As a small rescue, we rely on the support of our incredible followers to help fund life-saving procedures like this. Every dollar, every Toonie, counts in giving Gill the second chance he desperately needs.

🚨 Ready for Adoption… please read…Hi, I’m Tim, a 10-month-old French Bulldog looking for my forever home! I came to Fur-Ever Able at just 3 days old with a cleft palate, and I’ve been thriving ever since. Thanks to careful tube feeding and time spent in a puppy incubator, I grew into the happy, healthy pup I am today.
While I was originally scheduled for cleft palate surgery, the surgeon determined it was best to leave it as-is because my palate is small and hasn’t caused me any issues. Fixing it could have compromised my breathing. I’ve never had a cleft infection, and my cleft is very manageable. During my recent procedure, I was neutered and had cryptorchid surgery, so now I’m ready to meet my forever family!
I’m playful, silly, and full of love. I enjoy snuggling, going for walks (though I’m still learning not to pull), and meeting people and other dogs. I’m currently being fostered with a large breed dog and young children, and I love spending time with them!
A few things to know about me:
• I’m fully potty trained and will let you know when I need to go outside.
• I’m crate trained and sleep soundly—though you’ll definitely hear my cute snores!
• I eat best when I’m fed alone, and I DRINK FROM A HAMSTER WATER BOTTLE, which my foster family finds adorable.
• I love car rides, baths, and even tolerate nail trims like a champ.
• While I’m great going up stairs, I’m still working on my confidence coming down.

Hi there! I’m Paddington, and I’m beyond excited to share that I am officially ready for my fur-ever home! My foster family thinks I’m the best boy (I mean, who could blame them?), but they know it’s time for me to find my forever family.
I’m a playful, cuddly 4-month-old Cockapoo who loves to run and have fun with my fur brothers, toys and playtime are the best! I’m super smart, almost potty trained, and I’ll even let you know when I need to go outside. Right now, I’m learning how to use buttons to ask to go in and out, and I love the treats I get when I come inside!
I’m also a bath-time champ and a professional cuddler. I’ll never let you go to the bathroom alone, and I promise I’ll keep you company whenever you need it.
I’m great with dogs, cats, and kids of all ages, so I’ll fit in perfectly with your family, whatever it looks like!
The best part? I’m healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and I’ve already been neutered, so I’m ready for my next adventure with you!

At just 3 days old, Harmony has already shown us the true meaning of hope, love, and collaboration. Born with a cleft lip, she faced challenges right from the start, but thanks to an incredible team of rescuers coming together, her life is now filled with promise. 💖

We want to give a heartfelt thank-you to Fur-Warriors for suggesting us as a safe haven for Harmony and to Bark at the Moon Animal Rescue for going the extra mile—literally!—to drive her all the way from London to us. This little girl is a testament to what we can achieve when rescues unite for a greater good. 🐾✨

Harmony’s name reflects the harmony of efforts, love, and dedication that brought her into our care. She’s a shining reminder that together, we can overcome any obstacle and give these precious souls the chance they deserve.

We recently took Finn to OVC for the scan because of all your love and support we have answers now to build a plan. The vet will be in touch this week! Here’s an update:

Urethrorectal Fistula: Finn has an abnormal connection between his urethra and re**um, causing urine incontinence. Surgery to separate these passages is being considered, which could reduce infection risks and improve his quality of life.

Vertebral Deformity: He has a hunched back due to vertebral anomalies. Currently, this doesn’t seem to cause him pain, but we’ll continue to monitor it.

Thickened Colon: This condition affects his stool passage. The veterinary team is evaluating potential treatments.

Despite these challenges, Finn remains in good spirits. We’re awaiting further details from the vet and will keep you updated on his journey.

Helping puppies with needs!

We are really lucky to have such an amazing connection with animals and for this type of work it is important. Our puppies are 100% treated as family and we find the BEST rehab and veterinary care for them while in our rescue. We are here to help not judge anyone we have the knowledge and expertise to work with various animals with needs. As of right now if you know anyone that needs care for their puppy with a need please do not hesitate to contact. It is better for your puppy to get the help they need at an early stage instead of waiting and risking infections and lack of nutrition. Clef Palate, Clef Lip, Swimmers Syndrome and the list goes on! WE are on a 24 hour feeding scheduled and are trained to tube feed, and provide the proper care for these tiny pups. Please consider us instead of euthanasia. These puppies have a right to live happy adjusted lives with loving families.
