Trainer Tip Tuesday!

Make sure to always check your tack. Checking your tack can help prevent accidents before they happen. Remove and replace frayed nylon straps, dry rotted or cracked leather, broken cables, and anything else that looks loose or broken.

This can help prevent a fall or injury to your horse.

Welcome back to meet the horse monday! Today we are especially excited to welcome Apollo to the farm fam!

Apollo is a six year old Belgian, Arabian, and Paint cross. He joined the program at the end of may and will eventually join our lesson program.

He is such a sweet guy who just wants to snuggle in your bubble. Or find the best patch of grass to show you and of course snag a nibble. Also make sure you dont miss his sophisticated mustache.

Training tip tuesday,

Pay attention to your own breathing and body language. Before you approach your horse take a moment to take note of how you're feeling. Are you tense? How has your day gone? Are you walking into the barn holding onto something that happened at school or work? Often when we forget to check into our own emotions it boils over into our work with our horses. So take that 30 second moment to have a deep breath and let go of whatever you might be holding onto from earlier that day or week. Just enjoy the present with your horse.

Welcome to meet the horse monday! Today we are featuring Sonny. Sonny joined our program 8 months ago as a lesson and competition horse. He is a ten year old Quarter Horse gelding but we think he has some Arabian hiding in there which makes him a beast on trail. Especially when he engages his “panther walk” and outwalks the thoroughbred!

Sonny has been competing with one of our students and they have come a long way in the last few months. He has also participated in birthday parties and barn days.

Big thanks to his mom for letting us use him in our program!
