Marlborough draft 2024
These mares are all very closely related and all performing. Luna is out of Silver Corazon by Kanaka Sun, Calypso out of Corazon by Jewel N Boon, Rockstar out of Silver Query by Drink me Pretty.
All three mares got course scores the other weekend in the Les Farr Memorial Novice draft.

‘Whisper’ went to his new home today, J’s first horse to break in, work, train, and sell all by herself.

Weetalaba draft was a great one for Dad and a great start for the 3 out of 4 newbies on the truck, each one certainly earned their jersey.
Silverwood Emberlilly made the second round of the Open on a 77 and just missed a place in the ladies on a 76.
Luna Sol made the maiden final on her second ever run with an 86, unfortunately no luck in the final.
Freckles also got an 84 in the maiden for his second ever run.
On The Spot and I had our first draft together, definitely a learning one for me, however we did manage to get equal 6th-10th in the encouragement on a 22.

On The Spot
AKA Spot, Spotty, Do**us, Baby Boy

Spot is a 7 year old gelding by Kanaka Sun out of Silver Patience. He is yet another one J stole off D. He shows a very keen interest in cows and has started to work the mechanical cow so well that I almost get left behind. This year will bring him chasing more cows as well as cans.
He is a great all rounder with such a sweet nature, a true credit to great training and even better breeding. Also see picture as to why he was named “spot”.

How precious are quiet horses?!
Spot, 7yo gelding, got thrown into being a kids pony for a lesson yesterday and never put a foot wrong. Walk, trot, stop, weave, turn. He was such a sweet heart ❤️ 🐴

(Sister to Butterscotch and Sunblock.)

Sass is a been there done everything mare. She has been my everything and my greatest teacher. Sass has competed in gymkhanas, show jumping, stockman challenges, a season of polocrosse, camp drafts and barrel racing. She has won me numerous age champions and too many ribbons to count. I will be forever grateful for her and the Farrs for taking her in when I moved to Brisbane. Now I’m very excited for the future with her 6 month old c**t Sparrow by Drink me Pretty. (Our peptos stallion)
Thank you Sarah Dobe for all the photos and information on Sass. She is enjoying retirement here and had her first night kid free last night. 😊

Sunny was by Dad’s old stallion Silverwood.
Owned by the lovely Natalie Mitchell
Anyone you knows Butterscotch, or Butters, Sunny is his brother.
“Sadly Sunny is no longer with us but wow what an amazing versatile little horse with a personality to match! The kind you can leave for weeks and jump straight on. This horse knew when the saddle went on it was time to work. By far the best horse I've been lucky enough to own.”

Sparky is happily owned by Vicki Stokes. Vicki was looking for an unbroken horse that she could break in then sell on however decided she better hang on to him a bit longer 😉.
Sparky is “an annoying sh*t” who has ripped his second rug this week! Gotta love horses! He is starting to show a great interest in cows, is the go to mustering horse, and is starting his futurity year this year on the campdraft circuit. Sparky’s greatest asset is his quiet nature. So quiet that as only a 4yo, can be lead around with kids on his back.
