Things are heating up! Keep your dogs cool this summer 🧊☀️

Exercise at cooler times of the day 💨
• Early mornings or evenings are typically the coolest times of the day

Give frozen treats or toys 🥶
• Freeze a blend of their favorite fruits together the night before and you have treats for the next day. Even letting them chew on ice helps!

Use an elevated or cooling bed 🛏
• This will help them remain cool during naps or rest time

Protect their paws from hot surfaces 🐾
• Dog shoes are available on many dog sites now. Also mentioned earlier: have exercise or play time during cooler times of the day so it’s less hot for their paws

Keep them hydrated 💧
• Ensure their water bowls are iced and filled with enough water. Even their food should have moisture. Feeding dry kibble may not be enough.

Hi friends! Let’s start this week off right 🫶🏼 some helpful tips for our picky eaters down below!

Mix in food toppers 🥒
• Adding toppers to their meals provide more flavor and works as an incentive for them to eat. You could try fruits, vegetables or our chicken or pork meal right on top of kibble

Swap over to tastier food 💫
• Maybe they’re tired of kibble. You can slowly transition them to wet food, a different dry food, human food or raw food

Ensure it is not a serious health issue 🙅🏻‍♀️
• Speak with your vet and they’ll be able to ask the right questions to determine whether it is an underlying health issue that might be causing new eating habits in your dog

Cut back on treats 🧸
• Feeding treats is beneficial, especially if you’re training them but they can sometimes use treats as a replacement to get their fill for the day. Try withholding the treats and turn feeding time into a game or training time

Warm the food 🌞
• Warming the food can help it smell more appetizing. Our chicken and pork meals come frozen and/or semi frozen so warming it up can definitely bring those scrumptious smells back. Remember, it should not be hot, just warm

Happy hump day 🥂 here’s Duke having our chicken and rice meal for breakfast! Also added a raw egg on top for extra moisture. Raw eggs are a definite SUPERFOOD since they provide vitamin A and B, riboflavin, iron… just to name a few 😝 Duke loves this meal, although his face says otherwise lol! He hates pictures 🤣

😋 aside from stronger bones, pork chops are a HUGE source of omega 3, for skin and joint health. Pork is also an easily digestible source of protein and a great source of amino acids
