I’ve been focusing a lot of effort on journaling and practicing living a life of gratitude, and I’d like to share a couple things I’ve learned from breeding snakes: 1. The vast majority of people don’t like snakes. They have their minds made up before you even get a chance to show them how wonderful these animals are. These are closed minded individuals that aren’t meant to be a part of your growth. Every person you meet is a lesson to be learned. 2. Your true friends will become more visible. They’ll follow your accounts, like your posts, and ask about your projects while the rest turn into crickets. 3. Your social circle will gravitate towards others that share your passion and encourage your journey. You’ll make friends that live in different states or countries but the shared positive energy outshines most of your friendships you’ve had prior. 4. Some of your friends want to see you do well, but not everyone wants to see you do better than them. Some of your friends are hoping you fail so they can be there to tell you “I told you so”. My humble advice is to always remember where you started. Remember that feeling of not knowing what you’re doing, the 20 gallon glass tank that housed your first ball python, the first time you found out what Morph Market was and saw someone was selling a snake named “Skittles” for the price of a car, and the feeling when you experienced your first snake pass away. Take too many pictures and videos and post them even if you feel dumb doing it. You’re going to be thankful you did. The journey is the destination.
