Happy belated 🙈
As requested here is a photo!
This was in March at a training show 😅 Billy was distracted on the approach to the fence and I couldn’t get his concentration back, so he sent the poles flying 😂

The big bean has really picked up the ‘rear queue’! 🤩 Such a smart boy!
I really enjoy working him from the ground and at liberty, although these days I think I do it more to get away with not riding him as I don’t quite fancy a trip to A&E 😂

A keen bean 🥦 (There are no bean emojis so enjoy a broccoli 😊)
This was at a training show in September where Billy actually looks like his breeding!! He is KWPN x ISH but he is basically a chinky Warmblood x with an Irish Draught 😂 there’s basically no blood in him at all, so I have idea where he gets that attitude from 😜

Another slowmo from Saturday 😍🤩
Hoping to get him out a lot more in the new year!! We only competed 6 times last year! (Do to family health issues)
Billy is feeling slightly unbalanced due to not being able to school him for a month (❗️) but otherwise great!

Billy was absolutely amazing at Petley yesterday 🤩😍 Really filled me with confidence and made me remember how good things can be! ☺️
Didn’t jump anything crazy as we are both a bit out of shape and practice as someone has been a psycho lately 🙄 Highest was 1.15m and I was a total potato! I have not properly jumped in nearly two months ❗️
The aim for yesterday was not to die! To enjoy ourselves, and build a little confidence! All completed! Billy didn’t touch a pole all day, we had no stops (even when I messed up a few times, because I used my leg 🙈), and only one tantrum from him!•

This is a series of photos I like to call ‘My Horse Stealing A Stick I Was Carrying For The Dog’ 🤣🤣•• ...

The bean learning a new trick at Liberty! 🙊 That first rear 😱
(I am not an advocate for teaching your horse to rear! Only do so if you know your horse and it is safe to do so!)

Two very smart beans!! 😍🤩
I was asking Billy to touch, and camera man Spud said “Oh I can do that!” So over he trots 🤣 (Can you spot him spitting out the carrot I gave him? 🥕)

I did have something quite nice to post today, but instead I am going to rant!!
Today I hacked Billy up the road, about 45 minutes out on the loop a dog (Billy is not afraid of dogs or barking) runs into the hedge barking at us, Billy spooked, slipped on the road, and fell on me!
At this point there was two vans behind me, neither of which bothered to stop to see if I was ok, or help me catch my horse. Billy ran off down the lane (and must have gone the wrong way), I ran after him and a different van stopped me and told me to jump in, he’s just tried to catch Billy but couldn’t!
We decided that he probably would have gone home, but when we got to the yard he wasn’t there. I thanked the man for his help, and got some stuff before heading off on my own. By this time I could see him trotting on the lane from the Yard, so waited for him on the drive.
We were so lucky that neither one of us was badly hurt (I’m a bit shaken and bruised, and Billy came away with only a couple of scrapes) and that Billy didn’t end up through someone’s windscreen!
I wanted to put this out there, because if you have a dog that barks at horses, and you love in an area that people ride in, (this particular house has equine properties on either side of it and is 300 yards away from a racing stable) don’t put your dog outside! My horse and I could have been killed today, just because you don’t mind you dog barking at everything going past!
I’m not a person to go off like this, but when something devastating could have happened, I feel something needs to be said!
I live in a village that people ride along the road in, and if I had a dog that barked I wouldn’t just leave it in the front garden! This incident has just thrown 18 months of work getting Billy to be confident on the road down the drain! I’ll never get him to hack in that direction now!

Happy fail Monday? 😜 I came across this video of a client horse learning to jump scary things 😅 this was over 2 years ago!! Tyler was 4 at the time and very green, I backed and produced him very slowly until he was nearly 6! Can’t believe he’ll be 7 in March!! I’ve know him since he was 11 months old 🙊😘

(Swipe to see how his leg looked today, very happy with it!)
Had a chill day at the yard today as I have the worst toothache! I took Billy for a walk up the lane to graze and then worked him at Liberty, and he was super!! 🌟🌟
