Today Beatrice has gone in for multiple biopsies on her new lumps to continue to try and get to the bottom of her health issues. Both Ethel and Beatrice have been diagnosed with FIP and are on high strength, £350 a bottle liquid meds and BOTH are improving slowly in that area. Sadly we think Beatrice has something further going on on top of the FIP so todays biopsies should give us some more answers. Both cats have put on nearly a kilo since being here and are general brighter, happier kitties.

Although things seem to be improving, these cats are costing the rescue a small fortune and with it being Christmas, many direct debits are being cancelled and we are really feeling the strain.

These guys came from another rescue who took them from an absolutely disgusting backyard breeder where they were kept in their own filth, crawling with fleas and eating and toileting in the same place. It was honestly nothing short of a living hell for these cats.

Both cats are now available to sponsor on our website. Their medical bills are currently astronomical so by sponsoring one of them you will really help ease some of the burden at the rescue.

Ethel and B are HIGHLY pampered cats, they will only eat fresh meat and they prefer to eat it in bed! We really are doing everything we possibly can to ensure these girls do not die and have a sparkling future ahead of them.

Please give this post a share and hit the link below if you wish to sponsor them and help us along a bit this Christmas. ❤

Sadly two of Gayle’s kittens were returned to rescue today 😞 through absolutely no fault of their own , they’re lovely little kittens. Not only have we had to cancel the next two cats in need to house them but we are now with two slightly older, black kittens. This is also the very worst time of year for rescues financially and adoption wise.

Please think before you adopt or even buy ANY animal… it isn’t always smooth sailing they aren’t just cute fluffy things to discard. Please only take animals on if you can commit to them properly like you would your child and not discard them when the going gets tough.

They really did not deserve this and neither did the next two cats whose placements have been cancelled as we just do not have the space.

Both of these girls will be looking for their forever home together once they’ve settled back in here and we suspect it’ll be a Christmas in rescue for them in the cattery. They are absolutely wonderful kittens, friendly and kind who deserve the absolute world, they have had such a bad start in life.

Dear lovely supporters,

We are here with our begging pot again 🙏🏾

After a good thousand quids worth of diagnostics we are still no closer to the answer other than this being FIP. So at the moment these girls are on a £350 bottle EACH of high strength liquid meds and then back for re testing next week to see if bloods are improving.

If they are not we will be referred up to the royal veterinary hospital for specialist investigations.

So far we are at nearly £2000 trying to understand why these girls have had such bad blood results.

We are leaving no stone unturned as they truly deserve the best shot possible.

If you could spare a penny please follow any of the below ways to donate 🙏🏾 we can’t do this without you.

**Available to meet in Chartham Hatch, Kent** Please share as we desperately need the cattery spaces over Christmas

Writing this advert feels like an end of an era for our team. It is difficult to know where to even start describing these two absolutely precious cats. They have been through absolute hell and back.

Ginny and Gigi, both 1 year old, came to the rescue as strays living in a scrap heap along with their newborn babies and along with over 20 other members of their colony. They arrived to us riddled with fear of humans and the entire world around them. We watched them mother their babies from a distance and we thought we would be forever loving them from afar. Blood, sweat and tears have gone into these girls rehabilitation and to even part with them is going to be very difficult for our team but they deserve more than life in a rescue cattery. From the very beginning these girls were misunderstood by so many. Labelled as feral, a pain in the arse (this they were) and probably best suited to a farm. But from the very beginning we saw glimmers of hope in their eyes and we knew deep down all they needed was time.

Here we are 5 months later and we can't believe we can now say these two are ready for a home. It is finally their time to shine. They have mothered so many abandoned kittens and young cats and provided company for so many others in fear in our catteries, for this we thank them. They are now a far cry from the trembling, outdoor living girls they used to be. Both sisters love a soft blanket and a warm bed and they adore being spoilt with lovely treats and cat puzzles. They stick together like glue and one cannot be without the other, so please don't ask us if they can be homed separately, it would be criminal to split these girls. The black cat in one of the photos is their other sister who they truly have looked after through her birth.

Although these two are now "pets" they are still on their journey to recovery and will require more time in a nice quiet, patient home that understands that the trauma these girl have endured such as birthing their babies in a pile of rubbish and desperately searching for food doesn't just vanish overnight. They now enjoy a nice gentle stroke and will purr and won't scramble away from anyone that comes close and they even accept being held by their favourite members of staff. We are 110% sure in the right home where they can be given more attention they are going to be lap cats, its not going to take a miracle it is just going to take the right person. Both are very easily bribed with food and in a more 1-2-1 environment than they are getting now, we think it will only take a couple of months for them to complete babies.

These guys need an adopter that is experienced with shy cats. They will need a small, quiet room that they can start off in until they feel safe. Absolutely no young children for these two girls, they really do require a peaceful environment for them to continue to flourish. They have lived with over 30 different cats over the months. They have always been territorial for the first day or two but ALWAYS come round and end up being everyones big sister and friend so households with other very laid back cats are fine and gentle introductions should be made. We would prefer no dogs for these girls just to be safe.

There are a million more words that can be written in this advert. These cats are truly a part of the furniture here at Flori's Friends but we are in desperate need of their cattery spaces for other cats in need. They are kind, soft in nature, stubborn, sassy as hell, hilarious, and judgemental of all. They have endured so much in their short lives and they truly deserve a proper home now and not just a rescue cattery. Adopters MUST have cat flap access (these girls will need to be kept in for a number of months first) and not live near any busy main roads. Catio's are accepted.

Please get in touch if you can help us find the two more prominent cats at our rescue a place to call home. Both are healthy, neutered, vaccinated, chipped and come with 5 weeks free pet insurance

Meet the absolute love bug and cuddle monster that is Robyn. Robyn was sadly given up to our kennels due to a new baby being born and the family not having the time to offer her the exercise or attention she needs. This very sweet girl really struggled with the kennel environment and what we originally thought was too much confidence was in fact complete overwhelm at being locked up all alone and not walked properly. Our head of animal welfare took pity on her and decided to take her home into foster for some intense training and she has just bloomed into a well behaved, well rounded, calm and cuddly dog who is happy to walk around in the shops, pubs and towns no bother. She truly will be your best mate. She has the most golden heart and just wants to be loved.

Robyn is a Husky mix so needs two long walks every day to keep her at that lovely level of calm she now has in the house. She currently gets 1 hour in the morning and 30 minutes in the late afternoon with a lunch time garden play (she absolutely loves tug of war, all the toys and her flirt pole). Robyn is a medium size girl so homes that have had larger dogs before are preferred. She barely barks and isn't at all annoying to have around.

She is a curious kid and likes to be involved with her humans, so a family that can offer her lots of adventures, cuddles on the sofa and generally allow her to be part of their day to day life would be ideal. It is so important to stress here the key to Robyn's lovely personality truly is exercise so please do not apply for her if you are not walking in green spaces for a good amount of time each day (we won't accept homes in busy built up areas that have no green spaces for her to walk, pavement walks would crucify this dog with boredom).

Robyn is now a good lead walker and has really taken to her training like a duck to water. She is becoming more handler focused and would be a fantastic dog for anyone that is interested in teaching their dog new things. Given her breed mix she does have a high prey drive, so she is only allowed off the lead in secure dog fields as if she see's a squirrel there is a high chance the squirrel will win over a chicken bribe! It is important that owners understand although she walks well on the lead she can be strong if she wants to be (e.g. sees a squirrel) .

Robyns plus points are:

Travels very well in the car

Is a total water baby and loves a swim, splash, hosepipe and is very easy to bath

Loves a groom

Loves toys

Can be left at home alone with no issues

Adores absolutely everyone she meets, even children

Gets on well with other dogs (although we do not train our dogs to meet and greet every dog they see as it's not polite + Robyn is still learning to contain her excitement towards other dogs on walks, we would not want an adopter who lets her run up to every dog, she has been introduced to dogs the correct way here)

Can accompany you to many places

Gives the absolute best sofa snuggles

Robyn can live with another friendly, well rounded and laid back, medium-large dog, she will not do well with a reactive dog around her as she will absolutely stick up for herself if she is started on and we want to ensure she continues to grow into a confident, happy, balanced pooch. She has been brilliant with all the children she has met and in fact gets very over excited to see them but we would not want her in a home with any kids under 10 due to her size and excitability. Cats are a no go for Robyn given she is a husky mix with a high prey drive.

We are actually really shocked no one has snapped her up, it's very unusual to find a dog this loving, kind and happy with next to no behavioural issues in rescue. She does still have her mad moments but this is expected as she is fresh out of spending months in kennels and she is just realising how much fun everything is. Adopters need to understand she is still learning and settling into "normal life" takes times for these gorgeous dogs that have been failed by so many humans. Robyn will honestly not let anyone down, she has the purest of hearts and enough love to fill the entire room until it bursts.

We are so desperate to see this girl with a family of her own before Christmas this year has just been so dreadful for her. She is available to meeting Chartham Hatch, Kent. Please get in touch via the website if you can offer our Robyn Bobbin that forever home she so desperately needs. She will come with lifetime free access to her trainer on the phone and if local to Kent, also free training sessions should you ever require them.

Robyn is 2 years young, neutered, vaccinated, chipped and is healthy.
