Hi!

It's been a long time without a post but honestly I took the time to step back and watch. I have to say, I love C.L.A.S.S., the new director is doing a fantastic job!!

They are in a contest for an invisible fence and it would help the rescue so much!

I ask that all of you please vote for C.L.A.S.S. we worked so hard to get rid of Kelly and Darrell that now it's time to help the new team make the shelter what Kelly and Darrell Mayfield didnt have any desire to do.

Hi everyone,

By now you've probably all heard there is a new president of Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society.

You've probably also heard that Kelly and Darrell Mayfield are staying on as volunteers till April 9th.

I understand how upset many of you are, truly I do. My own foster was dropped by class at the end of last year. I'm not on the outside looking in, I am right here with many of you.

With all of that said, there was a meeting for the new interim board to take over. I do not know all of the details but I know it all went to hell in a hand basket and the people originally set to be on the interim board, for reasons I do not know, ended up not being on the board and Debbie was left on her own. She asked Kelly to stay till April as a VOLUNTEER to be sure she knew all of the ins and outs of the shelter.

Kelly is a volunteer. She will have to answer to someone else while she is there.

I ask that you all please understand that we are still on the right track to Kelly being out of there.

I would like to make an apology

This page got WAY too involved in the he said/she said and lost site of the goal.

I spent most of the morning on the phone with a couple of the new interim board members and I had wonderful conversations with both.

I owe Jeremy an apology. We did speak today and I apologized over the phone as well. I was wrong. I should have never posted those things about him. I do not delete posts or comments but I will be commenting on each post that I was wrong.

He has stepped up to be a bridge between the Mayfield's and the new board. He is only responsible for the negotiations and will not be staying on with the board once finished.

I'd like to ask everyone to please not comment on the new interim board anymore. After speaking with them, I back it 100% and I ask each of you not to say anything negative. They are doing their best and have their work cut out for them with the lack of records we all are aware of. Please pm me with any concerns and I can explain.

The interim board will be taking applications for the board members once the new board take over is finished.

Again, I apologize to Jeremy and to all of you. This is about the animals, not drama.

I need to explain a few things here.

Yes we wanted a new board and yes, we have an INTERIM board.

Yes we have scrutinized the members of the interim board.

We have scrutinized because way too many times someone new comes in to run CLASS - we get relieved and then they do whatever they want till they get caught and the community is left to pick up the pieces.

The animals have suffered long enough and so have the people of Canyon Lake.

We are thrilled that Kelly has agreed to let an interim board take over. Please don't misunderstand that.

What we are upset with is that the leader is someone who offered Kelly a "way out" to "make this all go away" if she let him step in.

That alone blows all credibility out of the water and it's concerning. Jeremy Switt allegedly recommended Kelly and Darrell Mayfield for CLASS two years ago even knowing her history with a previous rescue. He was told countless times over the last year and a half, the horrors of what she did and what she caused. He refused to listen or even comment on it.

How can we trust that the next person he brings in will be the right choice for the animals? What happens if they aren't and he again won't listen?

The scrutiny may seem confusing when we asked for a new board and got it but we just want to be certain that this is the last board CLASS will ever need. Nobody wants to continue this vicious cycle.

We will watch, hope and pray that this take over goes smoothly, I understand they have their work cut out for them since the record systems for the animals and finances are a mess, but truly hope they figure it out and find an honest, transparent and reputable board to take over permanently.

This is what I was afraid of!!

The news of a new board was amazing but ONLY if they were good. Canyon lake and the animals have been through enough!!

The fear with Jeremy Switt coming in as new interim board director is that he is/was friends with Kelly Mayfield. He allegedly is the one who vouched for her and Darrell to go to class 2 years ago.

Kelly does NOT need an out!!!! She needs to be held responsible for her actions! This is appalling. Truly. I had such high hopes but after this, I no longer do.

It gives the impression they are going to get the rescue up to the minimal standard of care and sweep this under the rug.

To be clear, we will not let this "Go Away" just because there is a new board and if that is what your plan is, you have no business being on the board at all.

It's finally happening!!!! Y'all, all of our hard work is paying off. There is a new board coming to CLASS!!!!!!!

This does not mean we are stopping charges on Kelly and Darrell Mayfield tho, we will continue to follow this to ensure charges are brought on them.

I am so so sorry that so many animals have had to suffer to get to this point but a better future is ahead!

CALL TO ACTION!!!

Protest for CLASS!!

Saturday February 25th at 10 am for a couple of hours.
Do not park on the shelter property. You can park across the street at the body shop. Make your own sign. Bring family and friends. We aren’t going to bring noisemakers because of the animals. We don’t want to disrupt them. Come out and show the Mayfields we want them to hand over keys to the shelter!

I am still waiting for the proof of the expense numbers you put in your post.

Specifically $15,723

I'm trying to be patient but the more time you let go by, the more it looks like you just pulled these numbers out of a hat. Which for a donation ran non profit is very, very bad!

Since you're no longer on the board Kelly, I guess I'll ask your husband! Where is the proof behind the numbers, Darrell Mayfield?

Kelly you have made it extremely clear you run off donations and adoption fees but I know you haven't had over $15,000 in adoptions in one month, especially being closed down for the outbreak of sickness you caused.

Kelly, many if not all of us have donated money to Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society we demand to see the proof behind where the money went.

As this page continues to grow, I think it's time for me to set up some rules or at least make a request.

For the record I have not seen any threats made here on this page, if any are made I will give a warning but ultimately that will be the only thing that will get anyone blocked.

As far as name calling, You'll notice I have not once called Kelly, Darrell or CLASS a name even though they have called me/us Karen's, hate page and smear campaign, etc. I don't like name calling. I feel it just takes away from the goal so I would really appreciate it if we could do without the name calling.

For the record - I have no problem with cussing, I can just about out cuss a sailor 😂 I welcome cussing, because I understand it's truly hard not too when you're so passionate and we are all very passionate about the animals and their safety.

EDIT TO ADD - I stand corrected. Kelly's page has been incorrect. In June 2022 she was voted to treasurer and another person surprised and voted to vice president. The comment is below on this post and has excellent information. Thank you for the correction!

So now, asking who the board is qualified as harassment.

Kelly, can you explain why you have been vice president from July 23rd 2021 to February 8th 2023 and all of a sudden you are NOT vice president anymore?

My only explanation for this is that you had to remove yourself from VP and put yourself as regular staff so you can explain where some of the money is going, to you, as a salary.

If this isn't the case I'd love to hear your explanation!

Kelly, you said that you have hardly any workers. They have all quit per your words. So $4300 since January...that's a lot of money for not having any workers.

Also $9,000 in vet bills. We all demand to see the proof of that. With so many of the animals coming from you not being vetted or being left to die. Let's see the proof. I'll wait. We are all waiting for the proof behind all of these numbers.

As far as people not offering solutions for the current board to go. That's a bit hard when you absolutely refuse to leave so we all have gone to Mark Reynolds, Sheriff Comal County and he
has opened an animal cruelty case against you with all of our stories of your abandonment, neglect and proof of it all.

We will wait for the proof behind these numbers Kelly and Darrell Mayfield Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society It shouldn't take you long since you obviously got those numbers from somewhere.

I sure hope these puppies really did see a vet. Anyone who wants to foster should absolutely demand to see the vet paperwork.

They all went in for upper respiratory infections and Kelly says they have no "signs or symptoms of distemper".

I really REALLY have no idea how you can be so sure of that Kelly. Some of those symptoms overlap!!

With the history you have of not taking dogs to vets and the history of absolutely rampant disease at CLASS, I want to see vet records posted for these puppies to prove they actually saw a vet AND they in fact don't have distemper. Which of course, distemper can be confused with an upper respiratory infection till the neurological symptoms set in.

I sincerely hope these puppies are ok ❤️

I would absolutely love to know exactly where this money is going. Will you be vetting dogs with it? Because you were closed for intake till just recently and all your animals supposedly were fully vetted so where is this money going and why is $2,000 so imperative to keeping the shelter open? "If the rescue is going to stay open". If it doesn't, where does the money go?

And yes. You donated to your own fundraiser. You do that every time so I'm not impressed. It's almost like you know you get it back anyways. 🤔

You took shadow from her loving foster to adopt home that she had been in since October of 2022! You promised to bring her back yet supposedly handed her off to someone she's never known??

You are declining the opportunity to comment but you're the vice president of the rescue. Kelly Mayfield, you and your husband Darrell Mayfield, president of the rescue, are responsible and the only ones who can tell us where Shadow is.

Y'all, we NEED to get our info and stories to Mark Reynolds, Sheriff Comal County

Any of you with info PLEASE go to the sheriff's office at - 3005 W San Antonio St, New Braunfels, TX 78130

You have to make a report. We can post everything here till the end of time but the sheriff needs YOUR true stories and proof to do anything!

The sheriff gets ONE CHANCE to take this case in front of the district attorney!!! They need every bit of info possible to have a strong case to press charges and convict Kelly and Darrell Mayfield. Even if you don't feel your information is good enough or big enough, go make a report anyways! It all adds up!

Here is info from Jennifer Thompson, you know she's trying so hard to get the Mayfield's charged and out! -

"My name is Jennifer Thompson and I used to be the kennel manager at CLASS. I spent 4 1/2 hours at the Sheriff's Office yesterday and I am very pleased with how they are handling this case. Things are not going to happen over night and there is an open investigation. The ONLY way criminal charges can be brought against CLASS is if you have TRUTHFUL and SOLID proof or TRUTHFUL testimony. I am ENCOURAGING you to please GO FILE A POLICE REPORT. The more SOLID and TRUTHFUL evidence the investigator has the better."

Do y'all remember Dugan the great Dane? Kelly was taunting this page yesterday about him when someone in the comments inquired if he is ok.

A reputable rescue, Hunters Dog Rescue, is trying to pull Dugan to help him get adopted! They're very interested but yesterday they spoke out against C.L.A.S.S. and today when inquiring about Dugan, they have been blocked.

Isn't this about the dogs Kelly?? Dugan deserves to be out of the shelter! Why not let another rescue step in to help him get adopted? You should do what's right for him and let this rescue step up.

Instead, you'd rather be petty because they spoke out against you. Hunters dog rescue has pulled countless dogs from you, many who arrived to them sick and instead of speaking with them, you block them. So very childish of you!

Citizen comments are 3 minutes max but we can get the word out about Kelly Mayfield and the horrors she's doing!

Kelly Mayfield was texted 12/10/22 about puppies that were so sick they appeared to be dying. Her response was "ok, Im just loading everyone up and euthanizing"

HOW IS THIS OK???

She did not have anyone euthanized. She left them at the shelter till they died. She refused medical care! She let these babies suffer to death. Something must be done!

Kelly Mayfield and Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society got a foster offer for Gina within 20 minutes of their post.

Yet three minutes after that foster offer they stated they had a medical foster already.

When asked further, Kelly states they ARE STILL looking for a foster but since the person who offered to foster Gina saw her on this page first, Kelly will not allow her to foster.

This person offered to sign a non disclosure agreement and delete their social media. They only want to help Gina. They even have medical experience yet Kelly won't allow it.

She's allowing her own agenda to get in the way of helping get this poor baby out of the shelter immediately!

She cannot take responsibility for anything, ever.

An inside source has told me they have had Gina for almost two months! She spent days in the lobby then time outside in the isolation area.

There's zero reason she should still look like this. All of this medical care should have been done two months ago and she should have gone immediately into a foster home. I know she wouldn't look perfect right now but she wouldn't look this emaciated. It took two months of her being fed multiple times a day yet not gaining weight for you to take her to the vet? No.

I am certain animal control is the only reason Gina got the full head to toe vet check up and that's why they found the ehrlichia and heartworms.

Poor Gina, I hope you get into a loving foster home, or better yet, a real rescue steps forward for you. ❤️‍🩹
