The girls are creeping up on 4 weeks old already - it's crazy how fast time flies! Look at how absolutely adorable they are 😍🥹

We've been a bit MIA over here as I was down & out with a horrendous flu, but I think I am finally turning the corner 😅

It's time to start making some decisions on the girls. We've decided to do things a bit differently this time around with the puppies, and have created an application form. Solkanata's Canadian Litter is officially 2 weeks old today! 🍁

They are now no longer bite sized baby potatoes, more like russet potato size 🥔🥹 Both girls are well over half a kg now already, momma's milk bar is still flowing well 🍼 🐄.

We had a big day today - both ladies have now officially opened their eyes, and we had our first nail trims.

The girls are already practicing some typical lundie-isms. Those of you with lundies may notice some familiar sleeping positions already 😆

Now the real fun begins as they start to become little agents of chaos! 🌪️ 😜 Hope everyone has a great week ahead! 🤍

Puppies are growing like weeds.
It's quite astonishing how much weight they pack on daily. Tica is a very good momma, she's very careful with them & is providing them with a top shelf milk bar 🍼
Their little characters are already starting to come through a bit just watching them, and during handling for Puppy Culture. It'll be interesting to see how that translates through to their personalities later on.
Their eyes should open any day now, and then the real chaos will begin 🥹💕

We are so proud to announce the arrival of our "CANADA" litter 🍁 ✨

Last night, Tica had a textbook delivery of two beautiful healthy female pups 🩷🩷

Solkanata's M-EH-ple Taffy - "Maple"

For those that don't know what Maple Taffy is, it is boiled Maple syrup, on snow ❄️. Originally an indigenous tradition, the recipe was adopted and has been kept alive in Canada, especially around Quebec, where the gorgeous trees provide 71% of the world's Maple syrup supply! We couldn't miss naming one Maple, especially since the leaf also adorns our country's flag!

Solkanata's Toque of the Town - "Beanie"

What's more Canadian than snow and winter, and the clothes that keep you warm in it?! Toque is a common Canadian word meaning wool hat, often topped with a tassel or pom pom. The word traces back centuries (presumably all the way back to old Persian) and was spread nation wide in Canada after being adopted by our French settlers.

Although we wish there were more pups to name after Canadian-isms (like Tim's Double Double, Timbits, or Bunny Hugs), we couldn't think of more quintessential Canadian items than Maple Taffy and Toques!

Reminiscing from the spring again as I am going through pictures again

We also attempted a breeding with Poppy in June, driving to Colorado. While the male didn't want to tango, the trip was still a fun adventure road tripping through the USA with Poppy.

As you can tell from the pictures, it was blistering hot, or winnndddyyy (thanks Wyoming).

We drove through several of the nights to travel over 3,500km in just a few days, but we did stop at some pretty epic places for photo ops!

I can't delete any though, even the "less than perfect" ones. So here's me reminiscing about our California trip this spring with Tica, with pictures that are *definitely* not getting deleted 😜

I have a feeling I may be in good company here though. Anyone else's galleries endless dog pictures?

Spent some time out west during the holiday break, with family & all the dogs 🐾🌲🔥

Everyone always really enjoys being off leash for hours exploring, and of course it doesn't hurt if a morsel of hot dog 🌭 would fall on the ground around the fire 😜

Hope everyone had super holidays. Really looking forward to what 2025 has to offer us - starting off with some puppies later this month! 😍 Happy 2025 🎉✨♥️

We have some fantastic news to share to ring in the New Years! 🎉

We are expecting a litter late January ✨

For any of you that have followed along, we have driven about 17,000km in the last year and a half trying to get some more puppies on the ground. Breeding Norwegian Lundehunds in Canada, is not for the faint of heart 😅🥰 That being said, that makes this pregnancy even more special ♥️.

We are very excited for this combination, Tica from our own program, paired with handsome Rollo imported to Canada from Norway by Kris & Xanthe .

Mr Cliff has been with us for 6 weeks today ❄️🤍

He's quickly found his place in the pack and seems to be enjoying his time here... Although I'm not sure he is loving the cold Canadian temperatures 😂

He's a sweet little man, who demands pets and is really chill and goofy overall.

Keep your fingers crossed for us that we can get some puppies of his on the ground 🤞🏼🩵
