Please forgive that chair. The dogs love it, so I can't throw it away. They tear it up, romp on it, sleep on it, and I think if I threw it to the curb, they would scream and carry on for WEEKS!

OMG. I just figured out why Romeo asks me to pay attention to him, then skitters back a couple of feet when I reach down to pet him.

He wants to play.

His favorite game with me is Leap and Jump and Attack Mommy's Hand 18 Inches Above My Head While She Occasionally Makes A Grab At Me. If you thought the name of that game was a long read, try typing it!

He was just begging for attention, and I reached down to pet him, and he jumped back, then jumped forward, then back again, and I realized: That's a playful puppy!

I think he just figured out to communicate the Let's Play concept to me clearly, with the back and forth jumping. That's new.

We'll see if I am right.

Oh, playtime was marvelous. You wanted to be there.

I wonder why Romeo is so skittish about being petted when he's just hanging out on the floor, looking up at me with his tail wagging.

He wants me to look at him and talk to him, but he scoots back if I reach out to pat him. He will come over and stand with his paws on my thigh, asking me to notice him, and the minute the hand that has never done anything except pet him comes down, he's three feet away!

Do any of you have any thoughts?

My lil guy Romeo will be losing track of his yarbles pretty soon.

Right now, at night, when I am half asleep and petting dogs as I drift off, half the time I end up with a palm full of giblets. This will no longer be happening after the holidays are over and done with. He will be a year old, and it is about time.

Please spay and neuter your pets. Consider adopting from a rescue or shelter. Vaccinate. Your pets count on you to ensure their well-being and safety. Be a good steward.
