***Community Cat Desexing***

Our team have been busy behind the scenes – raising funds, revamping our website, and getting our subsidised cat desexing scheme up and running again.



We know that many people are struggling to afford to keep a roof over their head, let alone get their cat desexed, and we want to help.



We’ve teamed up with CareVets Hamilton South and CareVets Horsham Downs to provide subsidised cat desexing for people living in the following council areas: Waikato (e.g. Huntly and Ngāruawāhia), Hamilton, Matamata-Piako (e.g. Matamata and Morrinsville), Waipa (e.g. Cambridge and Te Awamutu), and Ōtorohanga.



You contribute $50 towards the cost of desexing, microchipping, and registering your cat on the NZ Companion Animal Register, and we’ll cover the rest of the cost at one of these participating CareVets clinics.



This is a high trust model – we believe that you deserve your dignity, so we don’t require you to prove that you are doing it tough. That said, vouchers are only for people who actually need them.



Funding is limited, so if you can afford to have your cat (that you already own) desexed without a charity covering most of the cost, please leave the vouchers for those who can’t. In the past, people taking the p**s have taken spots from people who truly needed them and we don’t want this happening again.



Strict terms and conditions do apply, and they’re non-negotiable – no fancy cats or cats that you’ve bought, no wild cats, no stray cats that you’re going to dump back on the street or take to a shelter, and no cats that you’re going to sell or otherwise rehome. The vouchers are for your own pet cats, and we’ve had to limit it to six cats per household so stretch the funding as much as possible.

Kitten season was slow to start this year but when it did it went off with a bang… .lots of very very tiny kittens that needed to be handed raised which our fosterers have done an amazing job ..but unfortunately these babies needed special care and food which was very expensive ..so we are very short on funds ..we run on donations that are kindly given to us from the community if you have a spare $ we would gratefully appreciate it ..we have a donation box at Anexa vets or you can pay into our account..Thankyou for your ongoing support
