Peanut gave birth to Mimi in the rescue when Peanut was about 9 months old. Now they are about 1.9 and 1 year old and very bonded.

Flower and Bambi are still looking for their forever!! 🌹🌷
Flower (who is about 7-8 months as of May 2024) was pregnant when she came into the rescue. She gave birth to Bambi in mid-April and mama and baby are inseparable. Not only does Bambi look like a mini-Flower but she follows her everywhere.
These girls love their veggies and have already learned to manipulate their foster mom into giving them oxbow treats.

Our sweet girl says THANK YOU to everyone who donated, commented, liked, and shared her post. Clementine has been seen and evaluated by the vet and does have a heart condition. Despite this, she’s being treated, and we’re hopeful she will respond well to treatment and have a long, happy life! ❤️

These sweet girls were returned through no fault of their own after being loving companion animals for 5 years. They are hoping to find that special adopter who will give senior piggies a loving home for their golden years. Regina (silver and white) is definitely the boss but she gets along wonderfully with the more docile Gretchen. They are active, curious, and love their Oxbow treats. Regina has a mass on her back that doesn’t cause her any problems and, since it isn’t growing or painful, she will live with it rather than risk surgery at her age,

Severus Snape (black) is very fond of people and likes to get a lot of attention. He has a lot of energy and a big personality. He is about 2 (as of May 2024) but proved to be too high energy for friends. So when baby Remus Lupin (born in mid April, 2024) was weaned from his mom and needed a nanny boar and friend, Severus was a great choice. Baby Remus had enough energy to keep up with Severus and the pair quickly bonded.
Severus is so happy to have a friend, and Remus follows Severus wherever he goes. Now all they need is a loving home and a second chance for a great life.

Meeko (more white) and Totoro are almost 3-year-old bonded boys. They enjoy their veggies and will remind you when it’s veggie time.
Totoro is the leader of the pack. He is curious and enjoys head scratches. Meeko is known to break out into popcorns and loves his Oxbow vitamin C treats.

As many of you know, Facebook's algorithms are...less than great. We've noticed a huge decrease in engagement over the past few months, but as more and more rescues are also mentioning the same thing, it seems likely that Facebook is pushing ads more frequently than the content of the pages you're following. Which is really frustrating for everyone involved.

There's a lot of talk this time of year about keeping dogs and cats safe and indoors during firework displays. But did you know that guinea pigs may also show symptoms of stress during firework season? Here are a few tips to keep your little friends safe and happy!
🎆Depending on your cage set-up and the space available, move your pigs away from windows and doors and into a more interior part of the house.
🎆Provide favorite hides! In addition to this, consider covering a portion of their cage with a blanket to darken the area and reduce sound. (Make sure not to cover the whole thing to allow for air flow.)
🎆 Distract your piggies with favorite treats, veggies, or forages.
🎆Provide background noise. This should be at a fairly consistent volume, so no thriller movies with jump scare scenes! White noise machines, a calming soundtrack, or a favorite sitcom may help drown out loud noises.
🎆Consider staying at home with your pigs instead of going out. Guinea pigs may appreciate your reassuring presence, which makes it a great time for snuggles.

Danya came into the rescue with his family (a product of a pet store mis-sexing) but he didn’t have a baby boy we could keep with him so he needs a friend now. He is 4-years- old and a very sweet lap pig. His favorite things are naps and oxbow treats - and running zoomies during floor time.

Bisque looks mighty terrified about the fact that the weekend is ending. We’ve tried to tell him he doesn’t have a job other than eating, pooping, and sleeping, but apparently that’s hard work!

OMG! 😱😱 Watch this for a laugh! This is Earl, one of our social media volunteer’s pigs. And while this video is hilarious and adorable, it’s also a good reminder that many guinea pigs are quite smart and are able to use that in ways we’d never imagine. This is a good opportunity to go over your enclosures and make sure they are all pig proof!
JUST RESCUED! We got contacted by someone who found a guinea pig alone and crying on a hot sidewalk. She just brought him to us and he isn’t more than a week old. Olaf is “fostering” him and the baby is eating and popcorning - and doing what baby piggies should be doing (NOT crying because they’re alone on the sidewalk!). Thank goodness for people like Ingrid (this tiny baby’s guardian angel).

Mama Stardust had SIX babies yesterday! Mama and babies are all doing well.
Little blind and mostly deaf Olaf is happy this morning…maybe because he got adopted. He is a foster fail and has two older bros, Jinkx Monsoon and Manila Luzon, to spend his days with.
At 6 days old, babies are now little eating machines. Looks like we have 3 girls. The black one already has an adopter. That leaves mama and a baby girl and one single female baby girl who need homes. If interested in adopting the mama and a baby or one of the baby girls, email [email protected].

Just adopted! Little baby boy (now named Honey - seen here “taking a vitamin”) met his new nanny boar, Brownie, and it was instant love. He has gone with Ally P and family to start his new life.
