In honor of Dia de Los Mu***os, a moment to acknowledge our most recent resident to cross the rainbow bridge. Zinn, named after the esteemed author Howard Zinn, was a delightful dog that graced us for 13 years. Outlived doctors prognosis by years and always had a cheerful attitude. One of the few dogs I've ever trusted to walk off leash… In the words of Pearl Jam "and wherever you've gone, and wherever we might go, it doesn't seem fair, today you disappeared. Your lights are reflected now, reflected from afar". Love and thoughts to all the animals that we have lost along the way 🦋

Best dog ever. Definitely in the top three in a lifetime of hundreds of dogs…Wish you could've stayed a little longer girl, But we put up the good fight. Cancer sucks. Miss you always Haumea.

I know that I post these five together quite a bit, but they eat together and it’s super awesome how they all get along. This is a perfect example how life should be. For every race, culture, s*x, species, creed, color...we should be one and benefit from Mother Nature. First we start by taking dare of her. @ Light Years All Species Rescue

A normal delivery for the horses 🐎, pigs 🐖, goats 🐐 and rabbits 🐇. This is about (maybe) a months worth. The horses and goats get fed 2X a day, while the rabbits and piggitty-poos only get fed once a day. They all eat very well, especially the horses and goats. They eat like champions with special diets. The horses (as many of you already know) were 250 #+ underweight, so we had to bring them back to life. The goats (in my opinion) should have a nice well balanced diet to keep them healthy because we don’t have the ability to let them graze. Rabbits are simple and so are the piggitty-poos. Anyway, this is a giant thank you to Seana for taking care of the babies. She hustles to make the money to keep the food coming. I make sure that they’re fed everyday, the yard is clean, corrals cleaned and I take pride in my organization. @ Light Years All Species Rescue

It didn’t take long for the to become family. Copiapo our big , he just does what he wants. To be fair, it was for everyone to share. It’s a beautiful thing to see all of our sentient beings living amongst one another as a happy family.

Our baby, Iwi. Old, blind, deaf, (if we’re not quick enough) he poops on the floor, he pees on the floor, spends about about 23 hours a day sleeping, the other hour, drinking water, a little eating and basically wandering around bumping into things and looking for the water bowl. Overall he doesn’t have too bad of a life. Seana thinks it’s a quality of life thing, but as long as I’m giving him a good quality of life, I don’t see the problem. He’s my boy. I love and take care of him. He’s not in pain,. He loves his attention. He loves cuddles and his eye drops. Lol🐀That’s good enough for me. Iwi.

CUTENESS OVERLOAD!!!
Rapinoe is just adorable. This is his frustration pout. He’s waiting for me to feed. Apparently the treats throughout the day aren’t enough for this guy, the one man wrecking ball. He’s constantly just destroying things wherever he goes. As Seana says, “He’s a hog. What do you expect?” She’s right, he knocks over everything, eats everything and is a train wreck. Lol. Still the sweetest boy in the world though. Our big baby boy. I can’t say how much I personally love this “little” guy. I love our and without a huge thank you to Jenna for all their love and support helping us with getting him. Without their help and the we would have never have this gem. Overall though, I honestly cannot thank them enough, so a huge thank you to the because without them, honestly there wouldn’t have been a home for any of the pigs to begin with, and none these pigs would have stood a chance. Well, we’ve been pretty quiet about posting photos and our rehabilitation of these beautiful little marsupials because of rules and regulations. We wanted to make sure we were following all guidelines and procedures before we started sharing any photos and progress that we’ve been making.
So got her after a 2 year process and for the last 4 months now we’ve been randomly taking in, rehabilitating and releasing . This one here is special. He was brought to us by a lady, Karen Wilson who just lost her brother-in-law to Covid-19. She asked if it was a male, to please name it Billy after him. Which was mind blowing to me and I had to fight back tears. She told me this in person, and I instantly said, “yes! No problem,” almost joyful. This was two days after the anniversary of my little brothers passing. His name was William. I promised to take care of him, but told her not to get her hopes up because he was extremely small and her dog had caught it 2X over the course of a day/night. However, being a fighter like both of our Billy’s, he’s been doing beyond great and almost ready for his second phase, which is being acclimated to the outside for a little while. He’s 3X the size (in these photos) than when we received him. He’s no longer a lover. Which is awesome. The fiercer the better. I know he’s going to be a great success story. We’ve successfully released 3 so far, and we’re looking forward to 5 more soon. 1 should have left by this Saturday, but with the crazy heat wave we’ve decided to keep her for a little longer where we know she’s going to have plenty of water and food. Remember, these are amazing animals. Love them. Be kind to them. They’re amazing animals. @ Light Years All Species Rescue

Our babies, Emileen, and our girl we rescued from , Padova. Padova will sit there for hours on end and clean Seana if she lets her. She makes appearances in most of her Zoom calls, meetings and other work FaceTime appointments. She’s become quite famous as of late. She had escaped from us for 13 days recently (which is something else we kept quiet), but other than that, she doesn’t like anything involving exercise or movement. Emileen likes to dig the holes for the crew, but mom and I put a cement ditch that’s almost a 1’ wide and 2’ deep around the whole inside perimeter of the yard. Emileen’s heart was broken watching us mix the cement and doing it. However, our hearts are broken still because it’s been well over a month and we’re still missing Bernie. We’ve come to the conclusion that either someone has him, or he’s passed away. He was disabled and couldn’t make it on his own. There are professionally made posters up with a reward offer. We had one person call, but we couldn’t find him. We will always search. We both look at websites every day, and I scour all the local and non local Facebook lost pet groups. I’ll always hold out hope, but I’m also a realist. Maybe. Either way, none of this would be possible without Seana, her love for the animals and her crazy intense work ethic. Hats off to mom. Thank you mom. I’m the lover to the animals, but these two are mamas girls. 🐶

I honestly don’t have to say much. This is the most loving, personal, friendly, go with the flow, ride the wave, just as cool as a cucumber, cat that I’ve ever seen. He’s the master chill artist. Knows how to love when needed. Finds his place, wherever that may be. He’s constantly laying next to or with Madiba (the parrot) as if they’re best buds. I never once fear him getting along with any sentient being we bring in the house. He’s by far the most beautiful boy. A super gentle soul. Hippy at heart. This is just a typical day for our kid, Rocktober.

Little Joaquin learning to climb. So proud of himself. A little timid coming down (I have to help him), but he’s going to overcome that fear. He loves it up there though. I’ll help him down because mama cries for him, but he climbs right back up. Lol. He’s growing up so fast. His horns are more than double what they were, and his little belly has doubled. His height is taking a bit, but that’s okay. Short, fat, thin, tall, we love them all. 🐐 @ Light Years All Species Rescue

Poor little Joaquin. He’s fresh out of getting . Luckily for him, grandpa is letting him and the rest of the gang have free reign over the feed shed. All access hay on tap. Poor little guy, feeling less of a man today. He’s still in good spirits though, and the other 3 ladies are taking great care of him.

So this happened this morning. decided to go to the to adopt these goats. We originally went for two other goats, but there was a nice lady who wanted the other one. So we chose to give her that one, and we took the mother son duo. Loving them. As always they’re named after important figures in our lives. Mom is named after someone very important to Seana, . Mom has the name, Julia. After a little thought, and this past year being so crazy and relating to the craziness of life, I went for an activist, actor and someone I have been watching for years, . So little man has earned the name, Joaquin. We are very happy that 3 out of the 4 goats were adopted instead of 2. This little one came in to cool off on the tile floor in our bedroom. I picked them up and held them for about 45 minutes until releasing them outside with some water and shade. I see the larger version of these everywhere. Now I know to look out for the little ones as well. Super beautiful and tiny. My heart needed this moment. 🦎..... @ Light Years All Species Rescue

Caught our boy, Ngôi Sao (Star) just chilling in the window during sunset. He was watching his brothers and sisters outside at play, and taking in the Southern California sunset. Ngôi Sao is our rescue from Vietnam 🇻🇳. We partnered with and got this guy back to the states.

I pulled out the old Sunning cage. I haven’t pulled it out since early last summer. Madiba has a cage, Moraine has a Cage and now Opal can chill too. All of the babies love being outside. Sucks that they’re in cages, but there’s not much we can do when humans breed them. Opal was actually caught by Minnie (one of our cats) and brought to us. She’s lived a good life so far. Well other than the cat trauma of course. I believe she’s @ least 10 years old right now, and no signs of going anywhere. She’s by far the sweetest and most gentle of all the animals. @ Light Years All Species Rescue
